             critical analysis
The story is all about making a  connections and enriching each other’s life. It is about a woman that has  become a recluse. But that was over when the 9 year old child brings her out  and enlarges to encompass new friends and to connect to the older people. It  is a woman to fight back her fears because of her promises she made to the  child. It is to delves about the heart of the fragile. And also it is to find  herself again with the help of the young child.
This is the first time I have read a novel  story, not actually all but the summary. So I make a research about this  because I did not really understand the flow of the story and also I read the  feedback of the people that have read this story. And slowly, I understand  the story even if not read the full story.
In this story, you will know how to  socialize with others, the communication and connection to enrich each  other’s live. Having a good communication with others, with the people you  have first met will help you gives the information you wanted. Like in the  story that the main character is making a connection with people to find and  know her past.

Better men leads
                                                 by: Barrameda, Sanjey Q.
Who holds the most of the leadership in your school? Is it the boys or the girls? In your purok or in your baranggay, who hold the most of the position? In the country and even in the family, who holds the most of leadership? Is it girls? Girls that is strong and powerful enough to make peace and love for the family? Or is it the boys that is strong and powerful enough to discipline and rule the family? Whose truly is it? Boys or girls?
Many studies of assessments of leaders’ performance occur in lab or organizational group settings where the members of a leader’s work group assess the leader’s effectiveness. RCT proposes that sex ratios in work groups should moderate gender differences in perceived leadership effectiveness based on the concept of tokenism (Kanter, 1977a as cited in Eagly & Karau, 2002). The theory argues that as the percentage of male raters increases, the female-stereotypical qualities of women leaders become more salient; thus, their perceived “lack of fit” in leadership positions should become stronger. Kanter’s (1977a) research and theoretical development of the construct of tokenism included a case study of 20 saleswomen in a 300-person sales force at a multinational, Fortune 500 corporation. Kanter found that tokenism has several consequences for minority group within the workplace: higher visibility (and increased scrutiny), exaggeration of differences from majority group members, exclusion from informal workplace interactions, and assimilation.
These findings have been replicated across a variety of settings. The first women to enter the U.S. Military Academy at West Point reported feeling highly visible, socially isolated, and gender stereotyped (Yoder, Adams, & Prince, 1983). Similar patterns can be seen in a study of enlisted military women (Rustad, 1982), by the first women to serve as corrections officers in male prisons (Jurik, 1985), and by the first policewomen on patrol (Martin, 1980). These findings are explained with the concept of numeric gender imbalance. Kanter (1977b) proposed that the unique effects of numerical underrepresentation will take place for both male and female tokens; yet, for high-status tokens (men), the outcomes may differ. A high-status token might receive more positive than negative attention, and perceptions of his behaviors may be distorted such that he is seen as more rather than less competent. Similarly, research on the glass escalator effect has shown that men are likely to be promoted to leadership positions more quickly than women in female-dominated groups or organizations (e.g., Maume, 1999; C. Williams, 1995).
Thus, we argue that as the percentage of male raters becomes very high, women may be seen as less effective due to the increased perceptions of their femininity and lessened leadership abilities. Yet, when the percentages of male and female raters are close to equal, gender-related characteristics should become less salient to the group, and there should be small or nonexistent gender differences in perceptions of leadership effectiveness (Eagly & Carli, 2007). Finally, when there is a majority of female raters in the group, men may be seen as more effective than women, due to the increased perceptions of their masculinity, competence, and leadership abilities. Thus, as the percentage of male raters reaches either low or high extremes, men may be seen as more effective due to the salience of gender to the context.
Yet, we contend that the degree to which self-ratings reflect a gender advantage in leadership effectiveness for men may be stronger in male-typed settings or when leaders are engaged in male-typed tasks (Beyer, 1990, 1992). Eagly and Karau (2002) proposed that, in addition to being affected by contextual moderators impacting perceptions others have regarding the incongruity between the female gender role and leadership roles, women in leadership positions may be impacted by contextual factors such that they themselves can exhibit diminished self-confidence (Lenny, 1977) and expectancy-confirming behavior (Geis, 1993) in certain environments.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          (Paustian et al., 2014)
Here are some reasons why male is a better leader; first is men do not experience prejudicial reactions based on gender when placed in charged.  People are used to seeing male leaders and therefore accept a male leader more readily than a female. Second one is male leaders are more likely than female leaders to attend to follower’s mistakes and failures to meet standards – active management by exception (Eagly et al 2003). This ensures everyone is aware of the expected standards. Also male leaders are more likely than female leaders to wait until problems are severe before intervening (Eagly et al 2003). This ensures that subordinates have the opportunity to test their skills and abilities without interference. Another one is men are more likely than women to take credit for their work (HBR Jan 09). Celebrating one’s accomplishments can lead to credibility within the organization. And also men are viewed as better visionaries (HBR Jan 09).  Every leader needs a vision. Another thing is men speak more confidently and boldly on an issue, with very little data to back it up.” (Ann Dumas, 2009).  Speaking with confidence inspires confidence. Men also have, on average, ‘thicker skin’ than their female contemporaries. (Psychology Today, 08).  It allows a leader to stay focused and not get distracted by personal attacks. The other thing is Agentic leadership characteristics (e.g. assertiveness, controlling, confidence) are more commonly ascribed to men than women. (Eagly et al 2003). Also men tend to develop problem-focused solutions. Obvious cause and effect. (Grey, 2008). And based on a research the numbers are on their side in 2008 21.5% of people polled by PewResearchCentre said men are better leaders. And a lot more.
(Why Men Make Better Leaders March, 2011).
Therefore I conclude that men are better leaders. It is not just because of the aspect and the perception to be a leader but that is one of the basis for making a man to be the better leader. It is research and rated and most of the people especially us boys voted for the men makes the best leaders and also some or mostly of the girls because of the stereotypical women become more salient. But this is just a research, you will choose who will you be in the near future even what type of gender are you. You are the one who make your destiny, so make it big and great. After all gender is not the real basis in choosing the best leaders, it is within the person that has passion and love on what he is doing. This is just a research and the science make this reasons and explanations. So be the best of what you are.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Novel
Jeff Kinney
2007
Retrieved from: http://www.gradesaver.com/diary-of-a-wimpy-kid/study-guide/summary
The diary of a wimpy kid was authored by Jeff Kinney. It was published by amulet books at 2007. It was the first book of the diary of a wimpy kid series. The book is a comedy realistic fiction comedy novel. The whole book centers or revolves around Greg Heffley or the wimpy kid.
The novel is about Greg heffley who is a new middle high school student. He was always been teased by his older brother, Rodrick. He also has Manny, his little brother who gets everything he wants and never gets to trouble. His father, Frank, who does not enjoy the life style of playing video games all-day instead of going outside to play sports. Greg’s middle school is not a pleasant experience but a horrid ordeal of social landmines that he must endure. To do so, he develops schemes to gain him the recognition and status he feels he deserves but fail miserably. Greg records his misadventures, thoughts and opinions in a diary to prepare for the day that he will no longer have to put up with nonsense.
Greg Heffley is an ordinary enough sixth-grader: not tall, not cute, not gifted, with one good friend who perennially embarrasses him, a bullying older brother, and parents and teachers who just don’t understand.  He’s funny and smart, actually, and a bit of a schemer, but, as depicted in his own words, he’s someone you can’t take pity on because he is so often the source of his own misfortunes. Sometimes we bring misfortunes to ourselves because of jealousy and greed. The book also shows the real life situations that a kid may experience inside and outside their home.  The diary of a wimpy kid shows the story of  a  kid trying to survive bullies and social shunning during his first year of middle school. This book is great for both children and adults to open their mind and understand what a kid may feel to their home and school.
