Hopefully a fun question for you: Who would you cast in the tellywood version of Friends, Game of Thrones and Brooklyn Nine Nine?
Hey anon!
I don’t watch GOT (beyond gifsets on tumblr), so I don’t know those characters well enough to know who to cast. 🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ But here’s the other two shows… 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Monica: Surbhi Jyoti. She would play the balance of strength and neurotic well, I think.
Rachel: Jennifer Winget. Kinda rondu, kinda lovable. Perfect.
Phoebe: Surbhi C. She’d play the flighty kookiness of Phoebe well.
Chandler: Barun Sobti. He does sarcasm so so well, and he can play all those nuances of Chandler well; the clean-cut corporate worker who hates his job, the commitment-phobe, the devoted boyfriend/husband once he gets over his issues…
Joey: Hmmmm…. A tough one. (I didn’t wanna take the easy way out and cast Leenesh, coz Rudra is essentially just Joey.) Maybe Arjun Bijlani? He’s super cute and it’d be interesting to see him play a dummy, but one who’s all-heart.
Ross: Nakuul. Kinda annoying and unlikable as a person at times because he’s trying to act oversmart, but excellent with the puppy eyes and angst and pining. He’s a shoo-in, lol. Wish he was taller though. Ross is pretty tall.
Brooklyn Nine Nine
Jake: Gaurav Khanna. He has that adorable overgrown man-child feel about him.
Amy: Shrenu. Tiny rage-monster who is at most times, sunshine and enthusiam. I love it.
Rosa: Drashti, lol? I admit I’m being led into it by her curly hair, but it’d be fun to see her play against type to do a surly and scary badass who can literally kick the butt of everyone around her.
Gina: The toughest one for me. I really don’t know who could play Gina’s patent glibness and level of savage. Idk, maybe an out-of-the-box choice, but seeing the way she played Ragini, I think Additi Gupta would be quite fun in this role.
Boyle: Hmmm, this is a tough one. Has to be slightly older than the rest , but still kinda childish and let Jake take the lead…. Dilip Joshi, maybe?
Terry: That dude who plays Daya in CID (Dayanand Shetty). The big strong tough guy, who’s actually a mushy softy at heart.
Captain Holt: Mohnish Behl. Dignified and stoic dad, who else but him!

Oh hello. There’s some potential here.
Overall, beyhadh 2 is so far better than what I remember of the first season. The actors besides Jennifer are much better than in the first season, and except Rishi and his weird act of being a college/university student no one sticks out like a sore thumb. I’m actually liking how Shivin is playing Rudra because I like characters that can be sarcastic and have a bit of humour without trying to be ‘cute’. And he has chemistry with Jennifer so that’s a big plus point!

Honestly, there’s some dialogues in this show that I don’t agree with that are misogynistic. But this show as a whole, has had the ability to tug at heartstrings. This scene right here is probably the best of Ayeza Khan. She’s shown us the stone cold bitch that is Mehwish and now this.

HE SCARRED MY FACE NOT MY SPIRIT
Malti (Deepika Padukone) was attacked with acid on a street in New Delhi, in 2005. Through her story, the film makes an attempt to understand the on-ground consequences of surviving an acid attack in India, the medico-legal-social state of affairs that transpires after the acid has been hurled and the face is irreparably burnt.

Beyhadh (S2 E01-3)

I’ve managed to watch the first 3 episodes of this season, and it’s fair to say that the acting quality of the cast overall seems like it is good. Last season the only actor I looked forward to seeing in the show was of course Jennifer. Aneri who played second lead was very annoying (or perhaps the character was) and Kushal, well, the less said about his acting the better. This season however, Shivin Narang playing Rudra seems to have a good amount of control as well as personality on screen. His acting seems like it’ll have much more range than Kushal’s but of course it is still early days. Besides that, Ashish Chuwdhary as the patriarch MJ is definitely a good addition. Also props to the director, Lalit Mohan. The direction is really good and the cinematography is just WOW. The lighting, use of shadows and shots are quite eye-pleasing. The story will obviously show Maya go absolutely berserk and I’m interested in finding out if it was Maya who was perhaps in a relationship with MJ or someone related to her. Either way, I’m here for a bad-ass (borderline crazy) woman wrecking havoc and some TREMENDOUS acting and stunning looks from Jennifer. Here’s hoping this is a finite show that serves us good content, albeit it’s important to keep in mind that this is indeed ITV.
