YouTube removed one of my recent videos because of monochromatic educational drawings. I've appealed and they've denied my appeal. So, I've decided to do something mainstream and ad-friendly -- a makeup tutorial.
Thank you to everyone who supports my shenanigans including the sponsor who backed my idea without question or shame.

Have you ever wondered why it is taboo to talk about perpetrators? Like what they’ve done and who they are and where they are now? We’re not supposed to publicly announce who hurts us because it could negatively impact the person’s schooling, jobs, housing, families etc. So they go on, often continuing to perpetrate, while the victims keep quiet and have to manage the trauma. I don’t get it. Unless this whole system was designed by perpetrators.
*eyebrow raise*
Thankfully, I live in a time when these standards are changing. I love the #metoo movement. I’m grateful that this next generation isn’t backing down to bullies like so many of us were trained to. I’m thankful that laws are improving to honor the rights of the victims. I’m in awe of the people coming forward with their stories because they value progress. And I relate to people who aren’t ready to act or change because it is scary and hard and the world still defaults to victim-blaming.
I can’t stop violence but I can educate those willing to learn about how to respond to abuse so that additional harm isn’t done.
BIG THANKS to those of you who listen, share, and make the world safer. I adore you.

reason I partner w/Adam&Eve
On June 2, 2015 Adam & Eve requested to sponsor Sexplanations. I took five months to decide if that’s something I was willing to do ethically and what it would mean for the channel to have any outside affiliations. I thought about the materials used in some of their toys. I thought about the impact that they have on small business. I thought about where their products are made and by whom. I talked it over with colleagues and then I talked it over with Adam & Eve. The representative at Adam & Eve who works with me now, answered the phone and let me ask all the questions I had. I got to learn about the history of the company, more about their products and mission. I heard the story of the founder and their work in HIV prevention and sex positivity. Most importantly I felt like they knew from our conversation what my reservations were and that I wasn’t going to go into a sponsor-relationship without boundaries for the safety of my audience. In October of that year, I  was able to come to an agreement with myself that while there are problems with Adam & Eve (like there are with all companies), there are many solutions. Adam & Eve increases the accessibility of condoms, dildos, lube, vibrators, strokers and the like for people who can’t go to brick and mortar shops or can’t afford the more expensive brands. They sell many, many body-friendly options and they are explicit with their customers about what’s in what and how their patrons do or don’t like something. They don’t censor feedback -- they make it available to shoppers. On their website they also have articles about sexual health and decision making. And as you can hopefully tell from this episode of Sexplanations they support shows like ours to make content that has a huge and wonderful impact on the sexualities of people all over the planet. Yeah, you need to be a smart shopper. Yeah, if you can shop locally and support small business I encourage it. Yeah, I have concerns with how and with what some of their products are made but ultimately Adam & Eve is doing an amazing service and isn’t intentionally trying to harm anyone.
