Xenia Emelyanov makes wonderful polymer clay jewelry. She generously shares her instructions with her followers. Here is a DIY instruction on how to make the following beautiful owl pendant:
This is another polymer clay pendant that is not for the brand new polymer clay jewelry artist because Artist Xenia sculpted this owl from start to finish.  It is not made with push molds or clay shapers.  But for the intermediate polymer clay artists, this is a great sculpted pendant project to try.
#gallery-0-16 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-16 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-16 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-16 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Xenia sketches out a general owl shape with a needle tool on a pad of white polymer clay.  She positions the eyes that appear to be made already (or she is using something else that I can’t recognize)  This is to make sure the eyes will ultimately be in scale when she is done with the sculpture.
She cuts out the general shape and then adds a layer on top to give the first level of dimension.
#gallery-0-17 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-17 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-17 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-17 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Next Artist Xenia buries the hanging wires at the top of the wings using a small pad of clay.  Next she adds the third layer of clay to build up the head area and the wing outlines.
I like this tutorial because it gives you the idea and the techniques used on sculpting bas relief, which is the illusion of depth using only tiny bits of space.
Here she buries he eyes and begins to add more dimension to the wings.  The “feather” effect begins on the face, and she adds a tiny black beak.  She is laying out the areas and the direction that her “feathers” will ultimately take.  You can see she is thinking ahead and laying out the ground work for the next step.
#gallery-0-18 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-18 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-18 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-18 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Next Xenia begins to add some glitter effect with either beads or tiny black polymer clay stones around the pendant and she sculpts the body shape and the owl’s legs and talons.
Next she lays in the tiny feathers.  You can see from the picture above that each feather has lines of demarcation into it.  It is always this tiny — but time consuming — details that give the final art pendant that really professional and masterful look.
Look again at the final polymer clay art pendant and see how much detail Xenia sculpted into such a small piece.  Notice how much dimension she created with just 5 layers of bas relief (base clay/feathers, feet/talons, body, face/eyes, eyebrows).
I have some links below to see some of Artist Xenia’s other works, which you can see from this screen capture:

Another Gorgeous Polymer Clay Jewelry Pendant by Celedonia Studio on YouTube.
Although I tend to pick polymer clay projects that are for beginners, this one was too beautiful to ignore just because it requires a lot more skill.  Celedonia videoed the project in a bit of a speed video, but she didn’t leave anything out.  She goes over the technique so anyone who would want to try their hand at sculpting a portrait, can do so.
#gallery-0-11 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-11 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Sketches the Unicorn
Begins with a blue base
Traces the Unicorn onto the Pendant
Goes over the details
Celedonia begins by sketching a unicorn in motion using graph paper and a pencil.  You can see in the video this is not Ms. Celedonia’s first drawing.  Pay particular attention to how she draws the unicorn in motion, including adding that same motion to the position of the unicorn, the leg positions and even the mane is “in motion”.
She then created a pendant large enough to accommodate her drawing and using a stylus, she traced her drawing onto the clay pendant base.  Then she went over it with the same stylus, deepening the lines for the next stage.
#gallery-0-12 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-12 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Using white clay to sculpt
Adds the basic shape with details
Adds the hair and more details
Adds the grass and tree branches
Then using a small thin pad of white polymer clay, Celedonia rolls tiny coils and bits of clay and fills in the shape of the unicorn.  She adds the details to the muscles and structure as she goes along, so she doesn’t get lost in the sketch.
Once the basic unicorn is onto the back of the pendant, she did go over the clay with I believe it was a mineral oil to smooth the clay and give it a more polished stone look.  Then she added the mane of hair and you can see the dental tool she is using to shape the hair and give it that movement.  Last she fills in details with the grass at the bottom (or maybe it’s flames) and the tiny tree branches that fill in the top of the pendant.
This is not a beginner project, but you can see that if you chose a slightly easier subject matter, you can follow Celedonia’s techniques and sculpt your own art pendant.
It is absolutely lovely.
Please subscribe to Celedonia’s YouTube Channel as she is always coming out with new videos and all of her projects are gorgeous and unique.

“MIHARU” Geisha – Polymer Clay Sculpture by By Tina Yu
Well, I just discovered Tina Yu on YouTube and her beautiful sculpted one of a kind dolls.  Tina is not only a doll sculptor, but she draws her own inspirational pictures, that are masterpieces in themselves.  This YouTube ideo is done as a speed video, but the pace is still slow enough where you can see the steps that Tina goes through in creating this masterpiece.
Tina has a Patreon Account, where she has the full version of this sculpt.  You can join her Patreon account and support her.  Watching her sculpt in real time would be worth anything that she charges through her Patreon account.  I believe it is supported through donations, if I’m not mistaken.  Having watched this one video, I can see that Tina Yu is an incredible talent.
Tina started by drawing the inspirational Geisha portrait above.  She maps out everything she will sculpt.  For beginners, pay particular attention to how she knows ahead of time how she will divide the hair into sections, she already has an idea of the eye-shadowing effects, the face painting as well as a general idea of how she will construct the bodice covering.
Tina then begins to draw out her actual sculpting template.  She decides first where the eyes will be positioned and the actual size of the head.
#gallery-0-26 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-26 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-26 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-26 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Positions the Eyes
Covers the base with Clay
Next she positions the eyes.  The eyes appear to be glass or acrylic eyes, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Tina makes her own eyes, so this is just my opinion.  She surrounds the eyes with coils of clay to make sure they are evenly spaced and even.  Then she goes around and covers the entire face with thin pancakes of clay until it is covered and smooth.
#gallery-0-27 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-27 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-27 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-27 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Sculpts the Features
Sculpts the Ears
Sands the Face after Baking
The free speed video on YouTube doesn’t show much of the actual sculpting of the features, and this is why if you are a beginner sculptor, you may want to join Tina Yu on Patreon to get her full length videos for a small monthly donation to support her.  She is, as can be plainly seen, a master artist, and you will learn so much.
This is one of the best ear sculpts I have ever seen.  In the third picture, she begins to sand down the face and she goes from finer grit to finer grit to achieve that porcelain-like finish.
#gallery-0-28 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-28 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-28 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-28 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Shoulder armature
Sculpted Geisha Hair
Next Tina creates the aluminum foil bodice/shoulder base, using the head to take her sizing from.  She also demonstrates just a little bit of how she created the geisha hair style using black polymer clay and a thin needle tool.
#gallery-0-29 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-29 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-29 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-29 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Starting to Paint the Face
Finishing the Painted Face
Again, the speed video doesn’t go into much detail on the painting, and this would be a very interesting video to see because the shading on the eyes is beautiful and the eyebrows are so perfect that she must have a trick or two to learn.
Look closely on the detail on the neck and shoulder area, just so realistic.
#gallery-0-30 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-30 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-30 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-30 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Starting fabric
Painting the edge
Tina created this bodice arrangement without a pattern.  It was hard to screen-capture the full effect of the bodice, so you owe it to yourself to visit TinaYu on YouTube and see the below video, and also Subscribe to TinaYu’s Channel and patronize her on Patreon.
I will post below some other contact information for TinaYu.

Once again, MOClay ha another beautiful polymer clay project; this time a floral barrette.
Once again, MoClay of YouTube Fame has another great Polymer Clay project; this time it’s a beautiful floral Barrette.  You can see the finished barrette, as well as a picture of Mo, to the left.
MoClay is one of my favorite polymer clay artists and she has lots and lots of projects on YouTube for the polymer clay enthusiasts and polymer clay jewelry artists.
Her designs are always so unique and clever.
#gallery-0-6 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-6 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Cut out Pink Squares
Cut out Purple Squares
Cut Out Triangles & Form Petal
Mo begins with cutting little square out of thin sheets of pink and purple polymer clay.  Then she goes back and cuts each square into a triangular shape.  Then Very intricately, she layers one on top of the other, and then pinches them into a leaf shape.  She cuts off any excess, making them the perfect shape as shown in the final barrette.
She forms 17 or 18 petals using this same technique.  Then she also rolls up a golden yellow tiny ball of clay for the middle of the flower.
Using some of the unused purple sheet of clay, she cuts out a rectangle shape and covers the metallic base of the barrette blank.  These barrette blanks can be easily obtained at any craft store.  Because they are made of some kind of metal or aluminum, they are oven- safe.
Next with another metal shape former, MoClay forms two golden yellow leaves that she applies to opposite sides of the barrette.  They are attached using a needle tool.  She then arranges all of the leaves side by side, layering the upper petals over the back petals until she forms the beautiful floral design in the pictures.  You can see in the picture above that she has that tiny golden yellow little ball of clay in the center of the flower.
On the base of the barrette, she is using a liquid sculpey or liquid fimo in order to glue the flower onto the base of the barrette so it is more firmly attached.
She bakes the polymer clay according to the manufacturer’s directions and once it is dry, it is ready to use.
Another beautiful polymer clay project by MoClay!  If you are a polymer clay enthusiast, you probably already know about MoClay from YouTube, but if you are a newbie to the world of polymer clay jewelry making, you must go to MoClay’s channel and look at all of her great projects.  She is by far one of my top 5 favorites on YouTube.
Be sure to subscribe to her channel so you don’t miss out on any of the wonderful projects she puts up.  MoClay always has new techniques and original ideas to share with everyone.  You can see the entire video below:

So nоw you want tо build a dollhouse…. A littlе рlаnning is vеrу important at thiѕ point. Thеrе are numеrоuѕ dоllhоuѕе brаndѕ frоm which to сhооѕе, all sizes, ѕhареѕ and рriсеѕ. This роint will address some ԛuеѕtiоnѕ аnd hеlр you tо сhооѕе the dоllhоuѕе thаt is right for уоu.
Aѕѕеmblеd Dоllhоuѕе Kitѕ
If уоu аrе nоt сrаftу, you mау prefer tо рurсhаѕе аn аѕѕеmblеd dollhouse kit аnd enjoy furniѕhing it. Thеrе iѕ nothing wrong with thаt approach. Mаnу соllесtоrѕ enjoy ѕhоррing fоr and finding thе реrfесt рiесе оf furniturе оr ассеѕѕоrу.
Gеnеrаllу, where уоu саn purchase doll hоuѕеѕ, furniturе ассеѕѕоriеѕ iѕ also аvаilаblе. These pieces come in a wide vаriеtу, you саn find еvеrуthing frоm bathroom furniturе tо bеdrооm furniturе. Maybe, if it’ѕ your case, уоu should lооk fоr ѕоmе uniԛuе, hаnd-mаdе furniturе, it mау match your needs specifically. Hоwеvеr, hand-made рiесеѕ are mоѕtlу mоrе elegant, and givе mоrе style to doll hоuѕе. There iѕ ѕоmеthing ѕресiаl аbоut bоth hаnd-mаdе аnd Artiѕаn furniture ассеѕѕоriеѕ. Thеѕе are рrоduсеd bу сrаftѕmеn аnd wоmеn. Sinсе thеѕе are vеrу dеtаilеd, a lоt of effort has to be put fоrth аnd a lоt оf раtiеnt wоrk hаѕ tо bе done. Hаnd-mаdе and Artiѕаn furniturе is аn option for аnуоnе, but it саn еаѕilу lеаvе you broke! Thаt’ѕ whу уоu ѕhоuld think twice bеfоrе tаking ѕuсh a dесiѕiоn. Those whо саn аffоrd it аnуwау, dоn’t hаvе to think that muсh.
Which Sсаlе Shоuld I Choose?
Thеrе аrе several scales fоr dollhouse miniatures, but one iѕ muсh more рорulаr thаn thе others. The “Inch” ѕсаlе, means thаt 1″ in thе dоllhоuѕе wоrld iѕ equal tо 12″ in оur real world (1:12). Thiѕ hiѕtоriсаllу bееn the mоѕt рорulаr аnd thе most common in mоѕt ѕhорѕ, a lаrgе mаjоritу of аll dollhouse related items аrе thiѕ scale. What thiѕ mеаnѕ iѕ thаt by choosing this scale, уоu will аlwауѕ be аblе to find lots of miniаturе related itеmѕ thаt will fit thе scale of уоur house. Othеr ѕсаlеѕ аrе “hаlf-ѕсаlе” and “ԛuаrtеr-ѕсаlе”.  Sоmе mаnufасturеrѕ аlѕо рrоduсе a Bаrbiе dоllhоuѕе ѕсаlе hоuѕе fоr uѕе with 11″ fаѕhiоn dоllѕ.
How Much Shоuld I Sреnd?
Only уоu can dесidе оn a budgеt fоr уоur dоllhоuѕе рrоjесt. Yоu рrоjесt саn last fоr уеаrѕ, ѕо it is nоt necessary tо buу еvеrуthing аt оnе timе. Mоѕt miniаturiѕtѕ еnjоу doing ѕmаll аmоuntѕ at a timе. Dollhouse kitѕ ѕtаrt frоm a lеѕѕеr price аnd gо uр tо a highеr price,  уоu сhооѕе at convince. Since thеrе iѕ ѕuсh a wide variety of ѕtуlеѕ, sizes аnd ԛuаlitiеѕ tо сhооѕе frоm whiсh can making the decision overwhelming at timеѕ.
Iѕ Thе Hоuѕе Fоr аn Adult оr a Child?
If the hоuѕе iѕ fоr a сhild, a small budget hоuѕе should bе finе. Mаnу аdult соllесtоrѕ рrеfеr thе lаrgеr, higher quality hоuѕеѕ. It iѕ imроrtаnt tо rеmеmbеr proper planning саn make уоur dollhouse experience еnjоуаblе аnd result in a hоuѕе you can bе рrоud tо display.

Another Amazing Sculpting Project with SugarCharmShop:
Jack Sparrow Inspired Miniature:
SugarCharmShop begins with a ball of clay and sculpts this character from scratch.  For beginner sculptors out there, this is a great video, and SugarCharmShop is a great artist to follow on YouTube because she can sculpt anything.
It is VERY HARD to make a likeness in clay and you can see from the video picture above that the finished character bust looks EXACTLY like Johnny Depp in his Jack Sparrow character.
You can see every aspect of sculpting in this video:
Forming the features
Inserting the eyes
Forming the mouth
Shading with pastel powders
Painting with acrylics
Creating a mustache and beard
Creating dreadlocks
Applying the hair to the head
Creating the hat out of leather and fabric — without a pattern
Distressing the hat and giving the character that “pirate-look”
SugarCharmShop is really a master sculptor. The most fascinating part to see, as a sculptor myself, is how she does all of this with long beautiful nails!  If I have one nail 1/16th of an inch too long, I wind up with nail marks in everything!
Below you can see screen shots from this video that may be helpful if you attempt to recreate this character while honing your own sculpting skills.
#gallery-0-4 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-4 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Starting with raw clay
Inserting the eyes
Applying the eyelids
Perfecting the mouth
Shading with pastels
Applying the mustache
Applying the beard
Making the dreadlocks
Applying the shirt
Creating the hat
Gluing in the hair beads
Finished character
As you can see, there are many steps in creating the full character bust, but this video by SugarCharmShop makes these steps look do-able.  SugarCharmShop is an amazing artist and you should subscribe to her channel on YouTube to catch her older projects you missed and see her future projects as soon as they come out.

Another Great MoClay Project on YouTube:
When I first saw these earrings, I assumed the gold sections were jewelry findings because they appear so perfect.  I thought the red dots were the polymer clay part.  Not so!  These are made from a hand-drawn pattern by MoClay, and tediously cut out of gold polymer clay.  MoClay gently “tugs” the holes into the center sections and manages to get them to look perfect, as usual.
Then the red circles are meticulously cut out of flattened red polymer clay and gently inserted into the center sections as seen above.  Then the jump rings are attached and the earrings are baked to finish.  They are really usual and look so professional.
#gallery-0-4 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-4 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

How to Make an Easy Image Transfer to capture Great Colors:
I seem to be focused this week on polymer clay jewelry.  My inspiration always begins on Pinterest, which I visit at least once a day.  The type of creativity that I see on Pinterest is like nothing I have ever seen before!  Above is a video I made awhile ago on how to make polymer clay transfers with slivers of white half-baked clay, tshirt transfer paper, graphics of your chose, and a home iron.
I tried many, many techniques to do image transfer on polymer clay, but was always unhappy with the “dulling” of the colors that occurred.  This technique allows you to transfer the colors identical to the way they appear in your graphic.
Image transfers make great pendants as can be seen by 3 inspirational pieces I saw today on Pinterest:

Pinterest Favorites - Beautiful Eye Jewelry
Pinterest Favorites – Beautiful Eye Jewelry
Above you can see what a few artists have done with the theme of eyes and polymer clay jewelry.  My favorite is the center pendant, but the cat eyes on the left and right are also gorgeous.
I’m completely guessing at how they made these, but I assume they started out with either a hand-painted polymer clay eye, or a glass eye purchased somewhere else.  They wrapped the eye in a lid formation,…

DIY Polymer Clay Mermaid Art Doll by CertainlyCaroline
Below are links to CertainlyCaroline’s Sculpting a Mermaid Tutorial on YouTube.  It is sculpted and explained in Part One and Part Two.  CertainlyCaroline goes into a lot of details and shares how she sculpts a head from scratch and also how she uses a push mold to make a face for those of you who are beginners or who like the easy of starting with a molded face.
Part 1:
Part 2:
Caroline has many unique sculpting techniques.  I especially liked how she detailed the eyes and she went into a lot of detail on how she sculpts the fingers and then attaches them once the mermaid body is done.
#gallery-0-11 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-11 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Caroline uses Genesis Paints and the doll’s hair is made of Tibetan Lamb Hair, and she indicated it was “pink”.  I especially like the way she did the top of the hair using glue and making a very convincing center part.
#gallery-0-12 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-12 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
I though the eyes were glass eyes and were inserted during the sculpt, but to my amazement, and I am sure yours too, the eyes are fully sculpted from scratch.  Caroline has a master artist’s touch as you will see when she shows you the details of how she sculpts and sands the intricate parts of the doll.  I would have broken the fingers off 5 minutes into it.  You can tell the pros when you see them.
CertainlyCaroline has done a separate video on painting the doll’s face, and you can see it here:

Caroline has a store on Etsy and I see at least one mermaid is available for sale at this time.  Be sure to check back and see what she has to offer in the future.  Check out CertainlyCaroline’s YouTube Channel here!

Pinterest Favorites - Baby Fairies by Various Artists
Pinterest Favorites – Baby Fairies by Various Artists
If you are looking for polymer clay baby fairy inspiration, look no further than Pinterest. Everyday I see more and more absolutely masterful baby fairy sculptures by wonderful artists. As any Pinterest aficionado knows, the pictures are pinned all around on many, many boards and the actual artist name is lost. Above you will see three of my favorites for this week.
Each one is a “sleeping” baby…

Above you can see the supplies that ManinpastaByBeba started with:  A cabochon frame, two balls of clay (there was a third ball of gray clay too), and three various sized “needles” with the tiniest tips.  You will see why ManinpastaByBeba uses the tiny needles as she gets going in the tutorial.
ManinpastaByBeba begins by rolling up the lavendar ball of clay and smoothing it into a smooth oval in the center of the pendant backing.  Then in the video you will see her roll up the tiniest balls of clay (you have ever seen!) with the other colors.  Then she applies each tiny “petal” very gingerly and gently into the clay and she creates the full design one petal at a time.
#gallery-0-7 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-7 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
You can see by the first picture above how tiny each of these balls of clay are.  The second picture demonstrates the same.  You can see as ManinpastaByBeba picks up the “petal” how tiny it is at the end of the needle.  By the third time, you can see how lovely the petals look after they are arranged and layered around the main flower.  The filigree of the pendant backing matches the style of the pendant design perfectly.
#gallery-0-8 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-8 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
You can see from the picture above left the finished design of the pendant ManinpastaByBeba demonstrated in the video tutorial.  The picture to the right shows the matching earrings that ManinpastaByBeba made to match the pendant.
You can create a full line of pendants and earrings using different colors and different petal designs.  It’s not hard, but it does take a lot of creativity and patience.  These are one of the most beautiful polymer clay jewelry pendants I have ever seen.

Christmas Tree Scene Pendant:
Here is a great Polymer Clay Pendant necklace by LynzCraftz of YouTube.  Lynz creates the whole pendant with two circular cutouts (shown below) that she created by folding and cutting paper.  The pendant looks beautiful, well-balanced and pretty complicated, but again, when Lynz breaks it down, it is pretty simple.
If you watch the entire video, Lynz shows you her techniques for cutting out the base of the pendant and creating the matching frame.  The video shows you her technique for making the back of the pendant and giving it some texture and design.
After creating the frame, Lynz uses a design rubber stamp to impress a texture design in the frame on the top of the pendant, as well as the back side of the pendant.  This way, the back of the pendant is just as polished and professional as the front side.
You can see above how the jump ring that will lace through a neck chain is pressed into the back of the pendant before the front frame is pressed onto the back; this way, the jump ring is securely baked into place so it will not slip out after construction.
Lynz then creates the leaves and flowers using metal cutouts and arranges them around the frame.  She then creates the Christmas tree with a teardrop shape of clay, and “cuts in the “branches” with a scissor — very clever!
#gallery-0-7 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-7 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
  At the end Lynz gives us a closeup of the finished pendant and even shows a second pendant that is completely different, but created using the same “framing techniques”.
#gallery-0-8 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-8 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
You can see how original each pendant looks but how they both have the same “signature style”.  This is what we talked about in other blogs about creating your own line of jewelry by creating different pieces, but using a recognizable style.  Lynz does this perfectly!
If you want to visit LynzCraftz on Youtube, you will be able to see many, many of her polymer clay projects, all of which are fantastic.
