* Update - to answer the most common question, no the long term construction moves are not CGI. The most significant post work was blending shots from different times of day, or different days into composites.

Sky Magic Live at Mt.Fuji : Drone Ballet Show from Sky Magic on Vimeo.

Beautiful backdrop of the world heritage site Mt. Fuji was used to stage the first Live performance using MIDI controlled LED flying machines, accompanied by Shamisens, the Japanese traditional guitars.

This was done so by utilising more than 20 units of these flying machines, flight swarming formations, music, and 16,500 LED lights to combine into a single audio visual extravaganza. Furthermore, we are able to control the flying machines, visual and audio aspects concurrently, using the DMX512.

C'est quelques heures seulement avant mon vol pour l'Indonésie que j'ai finalement pris ma décision: je vais amener avec moi mes seuls objets de valeurs que je possède: Mon Laptop et ma caméra. Je me suis dit: Hey, se faire voler ou briser de l'équipement, ça arrive juste aux autres... Quel imbécile j'étais. Trois semaines après mon arrivée j'ai dû regarder un jeune thaï (non-anglophone) démonter ma caméra en petites pièces pour régler mon problème. Une des rares fois dans ma vie et j'ai cru que mon coeur allait s'arrêter.

Amener ma caméra 35mm a sans doute été la meilleure décision que j'ai prise. Malgré que l'équipement digital est au coeur de mon travail, j'ai toujours trouvé que le résultat d'une bonne photo à film ne sera jamais égalée par n'importe quelle nouvelle technologie. Le mélange entre les deux nous donne de quoi de vraiment pas pire. Jugez donc par vous-même!

Regardless of our lifestyle or surroundings, the sky is always there above us to put on a show. "Skylight” is a collection of dramatic sky shows, captured from a wide variety of locations.

Shooting timelapse has taught me to sit back and take in the world around me. After six years and thousands of shots captured, I’ve seen some special and memorable events in our skies. No matter how dramatic the location, the sky holds the power to make a good view great, and to mesmerize us with the wonders of the world - within our atmosphere and beyond.

This collection of unique moments was captured from mountaintops to rooftops to coastline, at locations including:
