I want to point out the peasant would very likely ignore the fork and eat the spaghetti with his hands as in the classic Neapolitan genre paintings. This one is by Giordano in 1660.

Note that while tomatoes are technically available in the Old World at this point, there’s none on this guy’s spaghet! He’s got broth and maybe some cheese if he’s lucky.

Well I would give a medieval peasant some spaghetti.
