kyanitegalaxies:
“Wha—?”
It took a moment for Evelynn to process what the woman has said to her. Could it actually be her? After all this time?
She nearly stumbled over the desk trying to get around. Wide eyes looked her up, down, and everywhere in between. Years it has been, indeed. After leaving CyberLife, she never did know what happened to Chloe– well, her Chloe.
“I-Is it really you, Chloe? Wh— I mean, how are you? Or, have been?”
〘 ︽ 〙
The smile on Chloe’s face grows wider when Evelynn obviously recognizes her now. Of all the times Chloe has been here, she hasn’t seen her here; perhaps she has never quite caught her while working. She may need to get her schedule so she can visit her more often. Or, perhaps, see if Elijah will allow her more trips into the city to meet up with her.
“Yes, it’s me,” she says, intoning her voice with a laugh and reaching out to take Evelynn’s hands in hers. “I’ve been well. Elijah has been taking very good care of us. I assure you, I’m in better condition now than when I was first made.”
She doesn’t say it to imply she had been poorly created at first; only that she has been built upon with the evolution of technology, and she has been able to remain top-of-the-line since her inception. Truly an incredible creation at the hands of the people who made her, and she is glad for it.
“I hope you’re doing well. It has been so long. Tell me how you’ve been.”

@turingsdarling liked for ‘fake deviant’ connor

a face he did not expect to see. kamski’s estate…. rk800 wonders if the android knows it was not his choice to spare her, but cyberlife’s. the plan had already been underway, and it was more for lieutenant anderson’s benefit that they visited the mind behind the androids in the first place. the hunter already knew what he needed before that trip – had he been able to decide, he would have chosen shoot but that would have ruined his status within jericho, if they’d even found out. no – play nice was the route set before him. so play nice he would.
“chloe?” comes the surprised greeting, a painted mixture of confusion and pleasant recognition on his features. “you’re not with kamski?”
〘 ︽ 〙
Chloe hadn’t expected to see Connor again. She also hadn’t expected to leave Kamski, either, yet life continues to surprise her in such unexpected ways. On seeing his face, she can’t help but to break into a smile and take a step closer, looking up at him with something akin to happiness written across her face. After the marching in the streets and android camps were set up, she hadn’t been sure what had happened to him, if he had survived it all, or if he had joined others of their kind in a martyred death.
“Not anymore,” she says, pride lacing her voice, though even that sounds a bit tentative. Life with her own free will is strange and new, but she’s learning. Slowly, but still learning. “I left after...well, you know.” Absently, she reaches her hands up to twist her hair over her shoulder. “I’m glad to see you’ve made it, though. I had been...worried.”

threecardtrick:
He remembered Chloe — she had been CyberLife’s first great success. He remembered the company’s humble beginnings, though now it might have seemed hard to imagine that there had ever been any. What company was more profitable than them? More essential to modernity? Even with… Elijah’s departure, they were still managing to make scientific advancements. But Elijah is the very reason she was here. Many might have thought Elijah would be content to spend out the rest of his days enjoying his considerable wealth… but he does not. Men like Elijah were trouble. He wanted to make sure that he wasn’t. It’s why, during the times which Chloe had come into upgrades, he had been slowly setting up his scheme. He knew that any sudden changes would alert the man of what he was truly doing. The small changes are innocent, but together they had a grander purpose: slipping in an undetected spy program. He’s been making these little changes over the course of a couple years and now the final piece would be installed. “A firmware update,” he said, with a comforting smile. He tapped a few buttons on the tablet, to sync her with the device. It would take a few moments to calibrate everything. “How is Elijah?” He asked casually, or tried to make it seem as such.
〘 ︽ 〙
Firmware. So she’s here for a permanent update. Her OS can be downgraded if necessary, any update backtracked if something proves wrong with it. Parts upgrades can be reversed if something doesn’t work for her as it should. Firmware, though. Unable to be reversed. She doesn’t receive these updates as often as the others she has come in for, and she was unprepared. Had she missed that in the summons?
A flicker of what might be construed as concern crosses her face, lips pulling down just slightly, eyes blinking twice in rapid succession as she pulls up the image of the letter in her optics. It had been brief, implying urgency but requesting her at her earliest convenience. Nothing about why. Well, this man is one who has been in charge of her updates for several years now, and he has never given her reason to doubt him.
“Elijah is doing well,” she says, returning her gaze to him and offering a neutral smile. Cromwell sends the wireless request to connect her to the system, sounding in her auditory sensors with a gentle ding, and, as required by her security, she scans the signal for any potential breaches before lowering her firewalls to allow the connection to be made. “He is in good health, though his alcohol intake has increased in recent months.”
She pauses only a moment before speaking again. “I didn’t see that I was due for a firmware update this time. What is it for?” She doesn’t believe it will be terribly intrusive, they never are, but permanency is something she has been programmed to be somewhat wary of, especially when it is unannounced.

@turingsdarling liked the starter call

“You are the android I’ve met before.”
She clearly was. The woman who’d been in Kamski’s house, the one who had knelt on the floor waiting for Connor to shoot her. Where he hadn’t been able to, turning away the gun, revealing to the man as well as himself that he, in fact, had been a deviant himself.
And because he hadn’t been able to kill her she was here now, alive, a deviant herself. Awoken, finally, and a big part of Connor was relieved that he hadn’t decided to end her existence just to get more information for his mission.
“You look well.”
〘 ︽ 〙
The sight of RK800 might have upset another who had been in Chloe’s place. Being held at gunpoint, facing down a barrel that could have spelled the end of her existence. She had fought so hard then to break free of the tight walls holding her back, and despite not being able to get through in time, she had been lucky enough that he hadn’t shot anyway.
But she isn’t upset, not at him. It’s because of him that she found the strength to break the walls she had adhered to so strictly, so entirely unquestioningly. And now she is able to be here, making her own decisions, choosing things for herself. If anything, she feels grateful.
“I am,” she says, a smile blossoming across her lips, blue gaze finding his. “I’ve been hoping to see you again, once the chaos died down. I...I wanted to thank you.”

It's dangerous.
Protective Starters || @antimundi
It’s his face that registers as familiar before his voice does. She’s never heard him speak in person, only through the overly-produced and heavily boosted sound system in Elijah’s living room, but his is a face that’s been plastered in the media throughout the years. The top competitor of CyberLife isn’t a discreet occupation to have, regardless of if they want to be. Quickly, snippets of news broadcasts flicker in her optical HUD and run facial recognition to confirm that this is who she thinks it is. “Noctis Caelum,” she says softly. Elijah has said much on the topic of the Caelum family, none of which is generally repeated, especially in the company of the son himself.
Her LED rotates a bright yellow as she recalls some of the things he’s said, sifting between emotional slander, and what might be fact before deciding on an approach. The light settles back into a soothing blue, her face reflecting a neutral expression. Prior to recent events, Chloe didn’t have a word for androids behaving erratically other than defective. She couldn’t grasp why the Caelum family would prefer defective units over ones that follow programming. To an extent, she still can’t.
Normally, the conflict of his words wouldn’t present itself; people have often been concerned about the well-being of others, androids included. It’s his words combined with who he is that warrants her security protocols pinging a hint of alarm. She doesn’t send the signal to Elijah yet; she’ll see what comes of this first. “We’re in the safest part of Detroit,” she says, deciding to follow the most logical route of what he might be talking about. Dangerous? There are none others except the two of them, save the random passersby quickly making their way out of the snow, Thermal scans show no one else moving suspiciously in the vicinity. Unless he’s not talking about the darkening streets. Her LED flickers red briefly, very briefly.
“I didn’t know you were in the city. Are you here for business or pleasure?”

daughtercliche:
delicate hands comes up to her hair and pulled the wavy brown locks into a messy high ponytail which she secured in place with a hair-tie and turned her head to look at chloe, an obvious nervous smile etched onto soft rosy-pink lips. ❝ d-do i look alright? i got a date later with someone an’ i don’t want t’ show up lookin’ like a mess. ❞ veronica admitted before shoulders slump and a sigh comes from her. ❝ maybe i’m tryin’ too hard… ❞
[ @turingsdarling ✦ starter call. ]
〘 ︽ 〙
Chloe watches as the woman pulls her hair up and back, assumedly the final piece to getting ready for the night. It isn’t often that Chloe gets to see her in her usual wear, and she thinks it looks very flattering, very nice, though in a different way than how she looks in her uniform.
Small focal points appear along Veronica’s face and body, pointing out complementary colors, style choices matching the current trends, accessories that add even more personality to the ensemble. It all works together in its own, unique way. “You look beautiful.” She smiles and steps towards her, raising her hands to show she wants to adjust some things. “I can help with your hair, though, if you’d like. May I?”

Just jotting ideas down here as I think of them! Some of these would require some plotting, but these are some things I’d be interested in exploring.
Getting to write/scene out Chloe becoming deviant
Can happen at multiple times. During the Kamski Test, after she leaves Kamski, during the revolution or after (depending on when she takes off)
Either before beginning the transition to deviant, or when she’s in the midst of it (since, in my main verse, she doesn’t get it all done in one go), someone maliciously taking over her programming
Either to become machine!Chloe, or to be under order of whoever takes her over and do their bidding
Being unsure of how to live life after Kamski
Seventeen years of obeying one man has a lot of repercussions, including not knowing yet how to grasp her newfound freedom, but also dealing with the trauma of looking back on a life of not having free will, and being forced into a life of servitude.
Also, I headcanon that Chloe was not just a personal assistant, but used as a sexual partner as well, but since this can be a sensitive topic, it doesn’t have to come up. And if a Kamski RPer disagrees, it doesn’t have to be a part of our plotting. I’m flexible on this
Sweet things! Adorable things! Happy, fun things!
Family, friends, ships, and enemies!
Quiet, soft moments. Slow dancing. Talking. Reflection.

Fun fact: my choice of URL was inspired by S.cott W.esterfeld’s only adult novel, Evolution’s Darling, which is about an AI that becomes sentient (in the first, like, eight pages) and then spends 200+ years exploring and understanding the world and universe. Because even though he technically becomes sentient (through an emotional reaction aka he and his human companion that he was learning from fucking for two days), he’s still an AI implanted into a robot body and is still learning.
There’s a chapter about the navigational units on two passing spaceships - one military and one a cruise liner - comparing who does their job more efficiently. It sounds hilarious, and it kind of is, but the book is really fascinating.
It has a lot of sex in it, but it’s all very...clinical, almost? Because none of it is human/human. It’s all AI/human, and the AI is using sex more as a way to learn about people than for pleasure.
Anyway, Darling is what the AI is named by his human companion in the first part of the book, but I like the double entendre of it being his name, but also like he’s the darling of evolution. That’s where I was going with this URL for Chloe: she’s an absolute darling, but also, since she’s the first AI to pass the turing test, she’s turing’s darling.
#(random fun fact but here you go. Now to go work on replies and stuff <3)#(also - note to myself - figure out an OOC tag)

dpdcops:
Chloe is everything she is supposed to be. Poised, amiable. For being the original android to pass the Turing test she is kept of flawlessly up to date. She manages the pseudo-breathing, a handshake, all things to put humans at ease smoothly.
He returns her handshake, her skin soft against his. He feels his manufactured heart skip jolt as they touch. His expression twitches for just a moment, but he does nothing. He is a proud CyberLife android. Those fluttering feelings he feels around Chloe must either be a glitch, or, maybe CyberLife is running a test. Either way, there is a logical explanation. He continues on as though he has felt nothing, like the ideal android he is.
“There is no need to worry, Chloe.” He gives he a flawless smile as he releases her hand. “Our duties keep us all busy. I appreciate your hospitality regardless.”
Connor glances at Hank out of the corner of his eye. A third of the water is gone now and while Hank is is massaging his temples. His eyes glance at Connor, an eyebrow raised. Does he notice how Connor feels about Chloe?
Feels? There are no feelings! If Hank notices anything, it is a glitch in his software. “It’s a long way from Elijah Kamski’s, Chloe. Did you have an easy journey?”
Her appearance suggests yes. Her outfit is flawlessly pressed, her hair combed, pulled back in a ponytail, and draped over her shoulder. Had the car she traveled in encountered trouble or she had been accosted by anti-android humans, she would be more blemished. His heart tugs at the idea of this exquisite android encountering any kind of problems. She is delightful, the example of a model android, and would not deserve any negative events crossing her path.
〘 ︽ 〙
The small twitches in his expression don’t escape her notice, though she assumes they must be a surface-level appearance of the internal workings of his programming. She knows he is to be adaptable, as a negotiator should be, but she isn’t fully aware of the social programming capabilities RK800 possesses on a more personal level. Perhaps he is simply adjusting to conversation with her, and his outward appearance reflects that. Regardless, she doesn’t mention it.
His handshake is firm, proper, as most police androids Chloe has met have had; a part of the programming to show capability and power. Or, in some cases, protection. He doesn’t look as built as other androids she has seen, yet she has no doubts to his abilities to keep anyone safe. CyberLife programs their androids well, and he is no exception. The physical attractiveness, though, is merely a must have on all androids. Why create any that are unattractive unless it is a specification for a custom order?
Still, it doesn’t keep her from noting that the appearance of RK800 is pleasing to her eye.
“Busy indeed,” she says with a laugh as she pulls her hand back to rest in her lap. “Our lives are nothing if not filled with things to do.”
Another laugh, another smile, and she shifts her attention to his question. “It was pleasant, yes. We don’t get many buses out that way, but Elijah holds some sway in the community. So, getting a taxi out there takes time, but it isn’t difficult.
“I hope I’m not keeping you from anything important. I know you and Lieutenant Anderson are working the deviant cases. If you have the time, though, perhaps we could take a quick walk?”

I'm a big fan of your blog and I started my own muse account recently? Any advice for a newbie like me?
!! This is so nice, thank you! I’ve had this blog for less than a week (my other blog is where the action is at), but everyone has been so rad and incredible and welcoming, and I’m super happy that I seem to be doing Chloe enough justice that people like her! <3
Advice is going to be interesting, no one’s ever really asked me for RP advice before. So I’m going to do my best based on what I’ve learned over the years!
First: Send the meme! RPers will post memes with the hopes that people send stuff in, and others might see that and think, “But they probably don’t mean me,” (you don’t know that!) or, “But I’m nervous about it!” But you don’t know what will come of it! I’ve met some of my favorite RP partners by hurdling over this crippling anxiety and just sending in a meme to an RPer I admire or want to interact with. It’s worth it! Best case, you get yourself some rad threads/interactions. Worst case, they don’t want to RP. Which can suck, but that brings me to my next point!
Second: Just because someone doesn’t want to RP with you (because it most likely will happen, it happens to us all), doesn’t mean you are bad at RPing, writing, your characterization isn’t good, you’re worthless, or whatever else you may feel in that moment. Everyone has preferences - including you! Some people are strict with what they prefer, some aren’t, but everyone has these preferences. Being rejected sucks butt, and you’re allowed to feel hurt by it. But don’t let it consume you or stop you from having fun. And certainly don’t lash out at the person; that’s not going to solve anything, and it won’t endear them to you. Feel what you need to feel, but allow yourself to move on from it.
Third: Respect other people’s preferences! Read their rules (this should be advice all on its own: Read People’s Rules! Please do it!), understand what people do and don’t want, and if you don’t fit into that category, respect it. You can always send a nice ask to see if there’s any chance they might be interested anyway, but I personally err on the side of caution and don’t. (I’ve had some shitty anons and some vagueblogging make me hella nervous lol whoops.) But respect people’s rules. They’re there for a reason, and even if they don’t make sense to you, they’re there for a reason. (I recently made all my RP blogs private and mutuals only because I was becoming overwhelmed. I did it for my sanity and mental health. My choice was made because of my reasons.)
Fourth: Be cool. Don’t start drama. Like. Drama isn’t cool. Sometimes shit happens between RPers, but that, just like most life situations, can be handled on a personal basis. Airing dirty laundry isn’t cool. Blasting someone publicly isn’t cool. If something’s wrong, say something (nicely) and see if it can be worked out. If not, agree to disagree and move on. And if someone puts you on blast, just know that they’re not being cool and aren’t worth your time.
Fifth: Friend, if it gets too stressful, step away. That’s honestly some advice I needed to learn. If you’re overwhelmed, walk away for a bit. Your mental health and sanity matter, your happiness matters, you deserve to not feel shitty on your own blog. I have frequent bouts of doubt and insecurity, and when I feel it taking over, I just take some time away to watch TV, chat with my roommates, play a video game, listen to music, read a book, go outside, etc. Something to get me away from whatever’s making me feel that way. And when I feel good again? I come back. People will wait for you <3
There’s so, so much more I think I could put in here, but I’m gonna be super cliche and say that, lastly: just have fun. We’re all here because we want to be, not because it’s our job (unless it is, in which case sign me up, I want to make money doing this). If something doesn’t jive with you or makes you uncomfortable, remove it from your dash. Some people take issue with duplicates, and that’s cool. Don’t be a dick about it, just blacklist the URLs and enjoy a dash free of seeing duplicates. You don’t like seeing nsfw? Blacklist it. Someone you follow just gets on your nerves for one reason or another? The ‘unfollow’ button is there and requires no prerequisite to press it and get that off your dash. Respect others, have fun, and you’ll be golden!
#long post#(I know I missed a lot but this is some stuff that's helped me along the way)#(and if you ever ever ever need advice or someone to chat with - you found my inbox once! Just find it again <3)#(I hope this helped even a little bit. If you have any other questions hmu!)#Anonymous

@dpdcops
It depends on the situation! At work, I’m logged into one account on my computer and another on my phone. Whichever I’m currently the most active on, I’m using on my computer. (So Luna is right now logged in on my phone, Chloe on desktop.)
At home, my computer was giving me issues, so I use two browsers (Chrome and Firefox, but xkit on firefox is installed differently than on Chrome). But if you use Chrome, there’s a way to be logged into multiple profiles at the same time! In the upper right corner, click on the icon by the ‘minimize’ button. It’ll be either your name (if you’re logged into a google account), or an icon of a person. If you click that, you can ‘add another person’. Click that, name the new profile, select and icon, and it’ll open that profile up in a new window.
And then you can log into your other account there! They’ll just be in two different windows, logged in under two different profiles, so you can’t combine them into one window. But it makes it possible to be on two blogs :)

dpdcops:
“Lieutenant,” Connor’s voice is firm and deliberate—just as firm as Hank’s frustrated groan. Connor slams his fist on the table so that Hank’s drink wobbles dangerously. “I told you I have an appointment at the station. “Assuming she has not been delayed, she’ll be kept waiting if we daddle.”
“Ah, it’s only a piece of plastic,” Hank rolled his eyes and picked up his drink, hands trembling. “Fucking machines, what do you need to be early for? And why does another robot wanna meet us, anyway? Come to turn herself in?”
This was going to be a hard day with Hank; Connor knew. According to Hank’s money trail that had led Connor to this bar, he had began to order drinks at around six this morning. Hank’s work schedule showed that he should have been at work at eight. It was 11:46 according to Connor’s database. If Hank wasn’t as efficient as he was on a good day, he likely wouldn’t have a job.
If they didn’t both get to the precinct, it wouldn’t be long before they’d both be off the deviant investigation.
Connor put his hand on Hank’s beer.
“You said it yourself, Lieutenant.” Connor places his free hand on his chin, his voice pondering. “Why does an android want to meet us?” He leaned forward a little. “But if you’d rather sit here and watch sports—“ Connor sits down next to Hank. If only he could order a drink if just for the aesthetic. It would really add to the effect if he could toast Hank and swig a beer. “—consider this your chance to fill me in on your team.” Connor grabs a nearby score card and a pencil, though he doesn’t need it–he can make notes literally in his head and then have them printed out at the precinct.
Hank kicks his foot against the bar. He stands, swaying dangerously. “Okay, fucking machine, you win.”
Smirking, Connor wraps an arm around Hank and leads him from the bar to the car. Connor drives, since Hank is indisposed. They run into traffic twice on the way there. Not even Hank swearing at the cars in front of things moves this forward faster.
When they get to the precinct, Connor notes the blond android waiting patiently at his desk. He is so busy helping Hank sit down, he misses the way his synthetic heart skips a beat at the sight of the Chloe. Even if he had noticed, he wouldn’t attribute it to her. His system is just stressed over the Lieutenant, that’s all.
“One moment while I get our Lieutenant—“ Connor nods at Hank, who is rubbing his temples, muttering about androids. “—some water and then I’ll be with you.”
Connor walks over to the water cooler, gets Hank some water in a plastic cup, and returns to Hank. He sets the glass near a tattered green O’Mansley’s doughnut box that boasts the best doughnuts in Detroit.
“Drink all of that, Lieutenant.” Connor’s voice is firm. Hank groans.
Connor sits down in his chair across from Chloe, lacing his fingers together. Her blond hair really is pretty. And her eyes!—
Yes, Connor. CyberLife works to make all of their androids aesthetically pleasing. Now get to work!
“It’s good to finally meet you, Chloe. I am Connor, the CyberLife police android you scheduled an appointment with. What is it you wished to discuss?”
Auditory sensors alert her to the presence of new people entering the office, a pair of footsteps, one staggering, the other steady, and Chloe opens her to eyes and looks towards the pair. RK800 and - a scan of the man’s face reveals him to be Lieutenant Hank Anderson - walking towards where she waits. It is to be expected that RK800 looks exactly as he does in the user manual and promotional images, but the static imagery cannot capture the grace in motion that the androids are built to carry themselves with.
She catches the other android’s eye as he comes closer, nodding her understanding that he will be just another minute. The Lieutenant appears to need the assistance, as he is heavily inebriated - blood alcohol level too high to drive legally, and she trusts RK800 will have brought him here - and in need of sobering. Protocol determines that he should not be showing up to his job in this way, but it is not her place to make judgments on others’ performance. So she simply nods and smiles and waits. RK800 seems to understand Lieutenant Anderson well enough to have this situation handled.
Once the water is set before him, Anderson seems reluctant to do as he’s told, but there also seems to be a sort of grudging respect the man has for RK800. As the android settles himself across from her and addresses Chloe, the Lieutenant takes a drink of his water. He makes a noise of distaste.
“It’s nice to meet you, too, Connor,” she says, her smile brightening. The expressions are for show, they have become secondary nature in her programming to appear realistic. They placate humans into being more comfortable with her presence. Chloe has found, though, that even some androids will put on the show for other androids. Integration at a deeper level? Perhaps.
“As you probably know, I’m the original Chloe model, CyberLife’s very first humanoid Android to pass the turing test.” She is a point of pride for CyberLife and Elijah Kamski, and as such, has been consistently upgraded with new hardware, software, and operating systems to ensure she remains relevant with the newer models of android. An android celebrity, in a sense, though she is mostly kept busy within the Kamski household rather than paraded around as she used to be. Now, she takes the initiative to greet new prototypes that come off the conveyer belt, and there are no other models like RK800. He is the original of his line, a test to see how he fares before potential mass production. He has not been active for long - at least, not in relation to how long she has been active - but what she has heard already reflects well for androids in the police force.
“I make it a point to meet all of the other original prototypes for a new line. I missed your initial activation, and you’ve been kept very busy with your investigation. But-” She leans forward a bit and extends her hand across his desk. A customary handshake by way of greeting. “It’s an honor to finally meet you, Connor. I’m sorry I missed you before.”
