Game Over
Soooo,
I've not been on dayz in a while.
Why?
Well, there server I've always played on, where my awesome well stocked camp was just decided to dissapear into thin air and never return. It's left me pretty pissed off at DayZ because it took a lot of hard work putting it together.
I know I shouldn't find this an issue, but I do.
It's just the annoyance of hoarding things ready to start going onto bigger things only to lose everything. I can accept losing things through being killed, but not from pulling servers.
I feel DayZ needs to offer more game dynamics as well if they make a release in the future, things like being able to capture small towns or sections of cities and protect them from zombie hoards/bandits, a built like the politics system in SWG if anyone ever played that. Where you could start your own city.
I know such a thing would probably never happen because of the work involved, but one can only hope!

Sounds like it's advancing just how I'd like it too! Building up vehicles from scratch, more in depth medic systems. Awesomness!

Dean Hall adds Dogs to DayZ and shows off the next big update while talking about DayZ tactics.

A good Day
Today has been a very good day. I set off for NW airfield so I could try and find some nice spoils, like Camo fatigues, or a decent scoped rifle since I'm still mourning the loss of my CZ550's.
I am almost at the airfield when I spot something, helicopter blades in the middle of a field. I know this isn't a spawning spot for a huey I can fly, and my heart starts to pound with excitement. I ditch my bike and sprint over before any Zeds spawn too find... a DMR :D. Yayyy, I've been trying to find one of these for ages. Not only do I get my grubby little paws on a DMR, but lying next to it is an FN FAL. I boycot my trip to the NWAF and head back to camp to stash my new prizes.
On the way there I manage 80kph down a hill on my push bike, unfortunately I hit screen capture at 78, so you will just have to take my word for it.
Another odd thing has happened at my camp. I dropped a torch on the ground as it was taking up space in one of my tents, only to find it has stayed there, I added to it a can of Pepsi. It's been there two days now, I'm intrigued to see how long it will stay there. I wonder if I've creadted my own magic loot spot!

Haha dayz I win!
So, after being majorly pissed off the other night as my camp site vanished, I logged back in this morning to see if it was still there. And what happens, I die immeadiately on log in and end up in flatgrass land. No worries, I shall just sprint to my body and get everything back.
I find this new positive way of thinking in DayZ seems to favour my luck, as I roll up to my corpse, there is my camp site, although one of the tents which had 2 CZ550's in is now empty, I know it's not looters as my tents with medical supplies, food and a couple of M16's is still full.
Dammit, you tit, you forgot to save the tent when you put the things in it didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!
No worries, I shall find another one!

Where the hell is my camp site?
I hope hope HOPE, it is just the dark playing tricks, but I travelled back to my campsite tonight in the pitch black darkness of Chernarus, only to find it has completely vanished, all 4 tents, all the barbed wire, and the one tank trap that surrounds it. Wtf!?! I shall wait until first light, and pray it was just out of my stupidity fumbling in the dark that I've lost it.

Show your support!
I really wish my first personal tumblr post wasn’t something like this, but this is an urgent appeal for help.
Two of my close friends and work colleagues, Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar, are currently detained in a prison in Greece, charged with allegations of spying.
Just even writing that...

So, here's the deal, I've been seeing a lot of posts on Tumblr about people who are looking for other people to play with on Dayz. I'm two minds as to whether to contact said people, the reasons being as follows;
My camp: I have spent a lot of time setting up my camp, it consists of 4 tents, packed with food, drink, and weapons as well as medical supplies. The location as tactical as I can't imagine anyone ever having to pass through that region and also has adequate room to a land a chopper. I don't want to give away the location to someone I can't trust.
Trust:I have trust issues, not only in life, but on games as well. If my friends had the time to play, I know I could trust them not to be douche bags and steal all my stuff and destroy the camp. I could trust them to have my back if we end up in a hot situation and I could trust they wouldn't shoot me in the back and sell me out to someone else.
Rape:What if I meet up with them in cherno, and they over power me into the back of there S1203 or V3S and rape me. Heaven forbid, if I hear the dualling banjo song from Deliverance coming from your patched up sound system, I will run, and not stop until I'm somewhere safe.
I understand that like minded people are probably worrying about the same thing and like me, they're lonely in the DayZ world, whether it's because they're own friends in real life aren't as avid gamers as them, or that they're lives are "too busy" to play. That being said, if you can gain my trust and you're up for some looting and you're not afraid to have my back, then feel free to reply to this post or something, I may see how our Dayz relationship can develop...

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
After my anger and frustration of death yesterday I logged back in and found I was started next to electro. After requiring an Alice pack, another tent and some weapons I discovered an ATV. Joy of joys, this made up for the horrible day yesterday, I could now quickly get back to my camp. But alas, is I near cherno the ATV does a quadruple somersault landing on its side. This is one of my et hates about dayz and the arma game engine; ATVS. They're a nightmare as at speed they will flip on just about thin air. It's about time an addaction was implemented to allow us to right flipped ATVS. After all, dayz is going for realism and in real life, we'd use a lot of sweat and muscles we never new we had righting our flipped ATV. Not to worry, as I once read, why greave or something that was never really yours. This positive way of thinking obviously worked in my favour as I can across a bike, which got me swiftly back to camp. Now, il admit, I play across two serves so I can take advantage of constant day light and encountering as few players as possible, the server I was currently on isn't my camp server. Some may say this is cheating, I call it raising my life expectancy. On this server no more than a few hundred meters from my camp, I discover a tent. I've hit the motherlode. 2 m16 acogs, an m4 cco (which I lost because in my stupor I overfilled my tent) and a mk48 as well as about 12 stanag mags. I hid the bike, logged into my normal server and stashed the weapons at my camp. If this was your tent, I am sorry. It's been a good dayz. (like the pun ;) )

Dead
Well, I had a good run, made it NW airfield and travelled about Stary Sobor. Had an M4 and plenty of mags, another tent. Only to get killed by a zombie at a deer stand on my way back to camp. One carelessy mis-placed shot and I went from 11,000 blood to dead thanks to a zombie breaking my legs in one hit, which in turn rendered me unconcious and then dead. Majorly pissed. In anger I logged out of the server and forgot which server I had been on as I wasn't on my regular server. Could've travelled back to my body and recovered everything.

Urgh

Daily Jaunt
Diary
I made it. It was one hell of a trek on foot, but the notorious NW airbase is within sight. I am now equiped with an M4 with several mags, my only worry is having to use it within the airbase as it will no doubt draw a lot of attention from Zeds and Bandits.
I travelled without a pack in the hope I'd find another one on my travels, however much to my dismay I've only found a czech vest pouch so far which means I have very limited carrying capacity. I need to find something bigger as I'm here for ammo and mags to carry back to camp ready for when I can get a team together.
On my way up I travelled passed a cow, I swear there's never an animal in sight until I'm unarmed, I could've done with the meat.
Not to worry, waiting for darkness to set in now before I travel any further.

Nothing better than finding your own body!
So, it's fair to say I love Dayz again. After swallowing my anger and collecting up all the medical provisions and slogging it out back to my camp, I find my body with every thing I had on me when I died, now I have two ALICE packs amongst two of other things. Couldn't be happier :D.
I wish I had someone to share my joy with!

A new hope
Diary
I awoke on the beach with nothing. No torch, no pack, nothing. The only saving grace was ahead of me lay the city of Cherno. This pleased me in some respects as I knew most of the equipment I had lost (bar the ak and 5 mags) I would be able to scavenge back, and it meant I only had a one way trip to collect the medical resources I was about to set off for when I died. I have my Alice pack back, and now a PDW instead of a 1911. I also have a Remington shotgun with a flashlight instead of my Winchester. Medical supplies loaded up, it's time to trek back to my camp, set up the other tent I've found and then head for that dreaded NW airfield. I'm tempted to head up there with no equipment, not even a bag or weapons so I can scavenge more when I'm there and if I get shot or eaten by Zeds I won't lose all of my equipment again!

STUPID DAYZ!!!
I love this game, I really do, but it's bugs really piss me off sometimes.
I havn't had an issue with the game for a while. But I log back in this evening, as I log in my character immeadiatley dies and I respawn in grassland with nothing. I alt f4 out and log onto another server, this time I'm on a beach... with nothing.
If I have lost all of my gear because of a stupid glitch I won't be happy!

Skinning
Diary
So, this morning has been reletively productive if not painful. I managed to make my way into a city after a long trek, and scavange some much needed food. I was beginning to worry I'd die of starvation as food is scarce. On my way back something must have been on my side as I spotted my first wild animal for days. A sheep. Let's just say I'm now going to be having mutton steaks for the next few days. I've never skinned an animal before, always thought it would make me ill. You'll be surprised what the body can put up with when it's a necessity.
On another note, I traded my M1014 for a Winchester 1866 that I found. It's much quiter. Also found myself an AK47 with a couple of mags, although I fear it won't be much use unless my camp comes under attack by bandits, too loud.
On my way back out of town I had a run in with a large amount of Zeds. Feel like I've lost a lot of blood, I'm a little worried I may turn but as of yet there's been no side affects, just a little dizzy off the blood loss. Nothing a bandage couldn't sort out. It's just a shame I don't have a partner to admister a blood transfusion - that's if I can ever safely make it to a hospital to get some medical supplies. Now I've managed to scavange food, medical supplies are next on my list...
