EVALUATION
In evaluation, I believe that my project has had a successful outcome, meeting my initial objective. My main aim was to generate an overall awareness of the social issues explored throughout the different cities in my comic. My project possesses many strengths, an example being the successful combination of the world of comics and key social issues within these cities. The chosen media and topics project a wide-ranging awareness which may not be present in all societies, accomplishing the overall purpose of this project.
Another strength of my project is the visual appearance. I think the drawings are eye-catching which will keep the target audience engaged and interested. My use of bold text and font choices also stand out and are clear and readable, which means that the narrative will be received well. Perfect viewer (2018) is a good example of how a simple layout can be successful. It offers a divided screen which allows the viewer to see more than one image at once. This is similar to my comic images as I have divided some of the panels to create a more stimulating visual appearance. Additionally, the narrative created was key to my comic as I only had 10 panels to work with. By exploring further reading such as Superman On The Couch (Fingeroth, D. 2004), I was able to understand how social issues are portrayed within comics and through superhero’s.
The application has a theme tune which is present on the enter page, home page and instructions page. This is a function that was inspired by Madefire (2017) which focuses on motion comics, incorporating sound effects and animated transitions. In my opinion, this creates a more dynamic user experience and media rich outcome. By adding a theme tune, I have successfully created a more unique and recognisable comic, which could be identified purely through the theme tune. On the other hand, my project shows some weakness, an example being that you cannot swipe between panels. This would have given the user alternative ways of navigating and enhanced my coding skills. Although I was not able to make the swipe function work, the final outcome works very well with the click function and flows well, creating a smooth user experience.
In a Harley Quinn comic by Palmiotti & Conner (2017), they present a significant example of how embracing your own opinions through comics can lead to further awareness. Palmiotti believes that 'One of the functions of art is to show the world the way an artist views it, and maybe not how you see it.' (Herviou, 2017). Comparably, my personal opinion of how specific social issues such as mental health is understated in today’s society is embraced throughout my comic. With key facts offered to the reader to enhance their overall knowledge of the subject matter, this has effectively articulated my own concerns.
Finally, I believe that my final application confirms the need for more digital comics. As the digital world is constantly evolving, many forms of traditional media are becoming more accessible online. This is attracting more comic readers through digital platforms rather than the traditional comic book. Furthermore, these digital forms of media are now being successfully used to portray views on social issues and politics, leading to a wider consciousness of such topics.

PUBLISHING - How I did it
As I have made an app before, I already knew how to publish it. The below images show my step by step actions to achieve this.

TUMBLR ERROR - Re-uploaded Narrative Scripts (1)
Due to a Tumblr error, my narrative scrips were deleted from early posts. I have re-uploaded this as it is crucial to see where my ideas stemmed from from the very beginning and what I used as a guide to write the final narrative.

WEBLINK
As I added help pages, I thought it would be a great touch to make this information link to the actual web page of the information, which would add to the overall user experience.
I found this code in the ‘code snippets’ area of Animate, and changed the web link to the page that I wanted it to link to. This was very easy to do and it works perfectly.

HELP PAGES - Final
After finding some more information out via the direct help websites, I added 2 support websites from each social issue to the help page at the end of each comic. This will help avoid any minor ethical issues if the user has been affected by the social issue in discussion.

Screen recording of button changes (1)
After some feedback from my supervisor, I was advised that even though the colour change of the buttons is a good idea, when the user clicks on it, it may not be as visible as their finger would cover most of the button. I have altered this by make the button bigger in size when tapped.

BUTTON SOUND - Feedback
After having a meeting with my supervisor, he advised that my click button works well, however, suggested that I find a better sound which is more subtle and a shorter sound. I have since been looking for new sounds for the buttons with the below 3 sounds being my favourite:
1) http://soundbible.com/1705-Click2.html
2) http://soundbible.com/419-Tiny-Button-Push.html
3) http://soundbible.com/184-Button-Click-On.html
After trialing all of them, I have decided to go with NUMBER 1 - CLICK2 because I feel like this is more subtle and fits the comic well, which is what my supervisor suggested.

HELP PAGES
As the social matters explored throughout the comics can be deemed as being sensitive, to avoid any ethical issues I will be adding a page to the end of each comic offering some helplines for anyone who has been affected by such matter. Even if the individual has not been affected, it will raise awareness for these social issues and how people can deal with them which is the primary objective of my overall project. This will tie the comic together well, and complete the goal of raising awareness of not only the issues but also the people and services available to help tackle these circumstances.
I have used my research from previous blog posts to gather 2 helplines/websites for each social issue.

SWIPE - UPDATE
Due to many attempts to get the swipe function working throughout the scenes within animate, I have decided to not incorporate this into my application. This swipe function would have been good to give the user options, however, while testing the application myself, I found that the comic works best when the user clicks the next button. This has worked out better in terms of how the comic flows and I think will fit the overall aspect of the comic application.
