IMPORTANT
The mainstream media will tell you that protestors were not peaceful & that they are the aggressors and inciting violence.
The protest was peaceful until this man started smashing windows. This is 2 videos combined. The first part I was just made aware of, the second half I’ve been fuming about all night.
Do not listen to what the media is telling you. THIS WAS NOT A PROTESTER. PROTESTERS TRIED TO STOP THIS.
After this happened that’s when police started throwing tear gas and flash bangs. That escalated things and the more aggressive the police got, the more angry everyone else got.
Police were NOT pointing and targeting at people that were being aggressive, they targeted the people protesting peacefully. One group was sitting on the ground with their arms up and were tear gassed.
Don’t let the media spin this shit. That motherfucker was there with the sole purpose of doing this. It’s obvious by being deliberately hidden & how methodical he was in his distruction.
The protestors don’t want this.

Me: *Removes my cat from my lap to do something else.*
My cat: Father is...evil? Father is unyielding? Father is incapable of love? I am running away. I am packing my little rucksack and going out to explore the world as a lone vagabond. I can no longer thrive in this household.

When you’re growing up in abusive family, you don’t feel like “oh, I’m being abused, this is wrong.” You don’t even think about that. Instead, you feel guilty all the time. You feel like a horrible person. You feel useless and wrong, like something is fundamentally wrong with you, and you deserve every bit of harm coming your way.
For every time your parents hurt you, you feel it was justified and you deserved and provoked it. You keep feeling horrible and guilty about everything you’ve done to cause it. Even when something extreme happens, you dismiss it with “they didn’t mean that” or “it was just once, in anger, so it doesn’t count.”
You feel like a burden, because you know these people don’t want you in their house, and you don’t feel capable of being independent, and it’s on you that you keep bothering them with your existence, and don’t seem to be capable of getting out of there. You don’t feel like you deserve food, shelter, clothes, or anything. You feel like a burden no matter what you do. You don’t feel welcome anywhere, you don’t feel like you have a home, like there’s a place on this planet where you could be loved and cared for. You doubt yourself so badly, you struggle to see any value in your existence and it becomes hard. You break down and feel weak and lost and like everyone else is leaving you behind. You don’t feel like a part of anything. You feel guilty for existing the way you are.
If you felt this, you’ve been thru abuse. There is no one on this world who is useless, unworthy of love, or deserves to feel so guilty and to be hurt all the time. These ideas didn’t come from you, but from how horribly you were treated. Feeling this way is not normal. You did not deserve to feel this way.

Constructive criticism: I, as well as others I know do not like the recent social justice turn the art has taken. This includes but is not limited to: weird hair colors in battlebond, blatantly non conformist depictions of men and women alike (but mostly women ie. Estrid the masked and warlord rada), and no sexy men or women. If you, (or more properly the art direction team) would change his we would be very pleased.
One of the things I like to do with my blog is use it to help educate. I believe a lot of the narrowness of the world comes from people simply not being exposed to a wider range of ideas.
Let me start with one of the most important life lessons I’ve learned being a game designer for over twenty years. The world is not designed solely for one person’s (or one group’s) perspective. For example, I don’t design Magic so that every card is aimed at the same player. There are tons of different Magic players and they each want something different out of the game. If I designed every card for the competitive Standard player, for instance, a lot of players wouldn’t be getting the cards they want.
The art and the creative elements of the game are the same way. What is exciting to one player might be of no interest to another player. The colored hair, which you seem not to like, might be the very thing that makes another player connect to that character.
The goal of art diversity much like the goal of mechanical diversity is to allow as many different players as possible to find things that they connect with. This means that not every card creatively is for every player just as not every card mechanically is for every player.
But there’s something even more important at stake. By providing a wide range of offerings, we let people sample things they might not be aware of if they only self-select for the portion of the world they’re familiar with. A Standard player, for example, can be introduced to the world of Commander, something they would never learn about if we only made competitive Standard cards.Another thing that can happen as you open yourself up to diversity is an expanding of what “beauty” can mean. Everyone needs some beauty in their life and holding tight to such a narrow definition can actually restrict your ability to be happy and enjoy the world around you. Finally, it’s important to understand the impact of what you’re asking for as it relates to the needs of others. Asking for everything to cater solely to you (or your group) at the expense of other people’s needs can cause actual harm. Part of growing as a person is understanding that your needs don’t exist in a vacuum and that you have to take other people’s needs into account.

Magic: the Gathering - Headlines
Absolutely brilliant work by redditor fireshot1 who had created these ‘Meanwhile in Ravnica’ headlines with a nod perhaps to the meme - worthy ’Florida Man’ subreddit.

LOTR’s concept artists designed the films as a “journey back in time”
So (according to the concept art book) as the Fellowship travels deeper into Middle Earth, the places they pass through become inspired by progressively older periods of history. The farther along you are in the story, the more ancient the design influences
We begin in The Shire: which feels so familiar because, with its tea-kettles and cozy fireplaces, it’s inspired by the relatively recent era of rural England in the 1800s
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when we leave Hobbiton, we also leave that familiar 1800s-England aesthetic behind and start going farther back in time.
Bree is based on late 1600s English architecture
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rohan is even farther back, based on old  anglo-saxon era architecture (400s-700s? ce)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gondor is way back, and no longer the familiar English or Anglo-Saxon: its design comes from classical Greek and Roman architecture
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And far far FAR back is Mordor. It’s a land of tents and huts: prehistoric, primitive, primeval. Cavemen times
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the heart of Mordor is a barren lifeless hellscape of volcanic rock…like a relic from the ages when the world was still being formed,  and life didn’t yet exist
Tumblr media
And then they finally reach Mount Doom, which one artist described as
“where the ring was made, which represents, in a sense, the moment of creation itself”
