non spoilery thoughts
1) I like Birce’s curly pixie hair, what’s with all the social media shade :( why are so many people so resistant to hair styles on women that aren’t long and straight or long and wavy?
2) I wish they’d cast a younger actress as Zeynep.  The actress they cast is very pretty but she tries to act like a little girl to hide that she’s 23 in real life and it doesn’t work.
3) If this show touches on PPD I think that’ll be a really beneficial storyline for a lot of people.
4) why do I like Ali Osman so much? I know this will end badly.

Birce Akalay as Alev Fırıncıoğlu in Ağlama Anne (2018)
Dinmeyen bir kalp ağrısı gibi ‘Alev’. Vahşi bir şehre bırakılmış yabani, korkak, yaralı bir hayvan gibi… (Birce Akalay)

I thought you and my mom were alike but when I saw those letters, I realized. Actually you are like me.

not only do i concur with all of this, but she pretends she’s doing it on mercan’s behalf, even though mercan never wanted it! instead of helping her sister with her severe depression and self-harm issues she’s off revenge-marrying people.  ok, nazar.

Other than Vedat, this is my least favorite character in Sen Anlat Karadeniz. Vedat’s cousin who willfully closes her eyes on any abuse Vedat dishes out to Nefes is an abuse victim herself who was saved by Vedat so she’s too damaged to think things properly. Saniye, Tahir’s disapproving Mom, is an annoying drama queen but ultimately comes through for her children and is kinda funny. Berrak’s father is basically a brainless, violent thug.
But this? Nazar grew up in a normal enough family so there is no excuse of her not getting right, wrong and normalcy. And yet she automatically takes Vedat’s side - she refuses to believe Nefes is abused with plenty of evidence, she does horrid stuff, and ultimately decides she will marry Vedat no matter what. It could be understood if she was infatuated by the man, but she feels nothing but a desire to be right and to prove everyone wrong and how she is smarter than anyone.
This is particularly bad because she used to be friendly with the Kalelis - iei the family that took Nefes in.
She is like one of those women who refuses to believe someone’s assault accusations and piles on because “she’s a cool girl.”
I mean, I normally do not approve of kidnapping for any reason, but when one of the younger Kaleli bros kidnaps her to talk some sense into her against marrying Vedat, I cheered. Of course, it doesn’t work. Frankly, at this point, I would almost be OK with her getting Vedat as she wants so much to show up the village, except he’s a monster nobody deserves.
