Reflection on Business Plan Development Class
At the beginning of the Business Plan Development course, my primary goal was to gain a comprehensive understanding of how to build a professional and practical business plan that could support my aspirations in Music Studio Productions. I aimed to learn how to identify target markets, forecast financials, and structure a sustainable business model tailored to the music industry. As someone passionate about audio production and artist development, I wanted to ensure my business had both creative freedom and financial viability.
Throughout the course, I learned how to conduct market research, analyze competition, and construct a strong value proposition. I now understand the importance of articulating a mission statement, setting clear business objectives, and creating detailed financial projections including income statements, cash flow, and break-even analysis. I also gained experience with strategic planning, legal structures, and branding—all essential components to launching a successful studio production business.
This knowledge is directly applicable to my career goals. In the music industry, creativity must be paired with business acumen to thrive. With the skills acquired in this class, I can now approach my studio venture with a structured plan that attracts investors, manages risks, and sets clear pathways for growth. Understanding how to align my artistic goals with sound business practices ensures my long-term sustainability in a competitive field.
Overall, this course has transformed my vision from a creative dream into a practical, actionable business plan that supports both artistry and entrepreneurship.

Project and Team Management
5/2025
[email protected] Sail University.edu. O.L.
Project and Team Management has taught me how to be skillful in management on many different levels, and has helped to develop within the mindset of an effective Project manager adding many wonderful qualities to my resume. I learned to use the mind map to help me visualize ideas, breaking them down into subtopics that create a space for brainstorming, note taking, and effective planning which aids in organizing projects and problem solving. It defines the different levels of structured communication through out the phases of production and list the names of department leadership. I learned about the Gantt chart and its effectiveness in scheduling timelines and tracking to communicate project progress and identify risk. I used the Quality management Plan to ensure stakeholders that deliverables of the project will meet quality standards throughout the projects lifecycle. I learned to utilize the budget to plan, manage, and track project finances. We used the Team Project Improvement plan to identify areas where the team is struggling and develop improvement goals, tracking progress made towards those goals.
Overall, the lessons learned this month in PTM have helped to strengthen the weaker areas of my management skills and performance, enhancing me in project and Team management by added knowledge, confidence, team spirit, and performance expectations, satisfying my goals and vision for the course.

Let me tell You what I learned this month In Entertainment, Media, Publishing and Distribution @ Full Sail University!
April 27, 2025
Twanesia Ruffin
Digital Leadership Portfolio 3.3
Instructor: Kim Craft/Professor Eric Miles
This month in Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution my original goal was to become self sufficient in managing my own music and songwritings and gain a better understanding about royalties and how they work when it comes to collecting on works that are created and distributed for mechanical and personal use by others. I gained lots of important information, learning many valuable lessons on traditional publishing, and self-publishing options for songwriters, musicians, artists, and producers. I learned about the history of the art of publishing and how it has advanced and impacted the industry with its evolution bringing new technologies and opportunities for creative artist that don't want to spread the benefits of their works and royalties to larger label executives, but rather keep their copyrights and royalties to themselves and stay in charge of their productions by doing the work or partnering with aggregators that charge less and leave the rights of ownership to the author and creators of the works.
Here is a link to the page that I have added to my website this week showcasing the first Radio commercial Advertisement I have created for myself and a collaborating colleague that will be performing next year in January at the University of South Florida via Student Hall.https://twanesiatyson6.wixsite.com/mysite/single-project
See month 10 of my digital content plan for this addition.
The lessons learned in this course have been essential in teaching me management skills for artist and self-publishing options that will save me lots of money when it comes to my own works of songwriting and compositions being produced, protected, and published by myself and my label that will help me generate royalties and create income that will be profitable for the author, creative artist, and the label by keeping the material and creative rights and royalties in house.

Hi Everyone!
This month was full of lessons taught by professor Thomas Jenkins in the Product and Artists Management class at Full Sail University! I learned how to find my audience and to make sure that I possess the technical skills that I need to have in order to be effective as an artist and product manager. I learned that knowing the structure of a business and building healthy relationships by asking questions and seeking help with projects from people who are working in other cross referencing departments of a business will promote a team from within a team that will be found helpful when it comes to satisfying client needs and meeting project deadlines.
I learned to know my audience and what they like in a product.
How to effectively create promo items that attract members of our audience, and sell to fans and customers helping fund our business clients and events. How to research the market to find existing competitors noting their prices and elements of attraction to make sure that what we are offering stand out from the crowd as the better bargain to attract our audience.
Over all, this class has helped me to grow in my understanding concerning my duties as a product and artist manager, as well as the steps that lead to success when handling the job of marketing a new product and managing and promoting a new artists into the entertainment industry.
