Daryl stomped through the dense woods, his crossbow clutched tightly in his hands. He was on a supply run, searching for food and other essentials for Alexandria. The silence was interrupted by a faint sound, like a whimper drifting through the air. Daryl froze, instantly on high alert. He quietly moved toward the source of the noise, his heart beating faster as he hoped it wasn't a walker. He listened for the sound again trying to figure out where it was coming from, until he saw a tiny cabin. Daryl approached the small cabin cautiously, his eyes darting between the windows and the surrounding trees. He saw no sign of walkers, but the whimpering sound had definitely come from inside the building. He carefully pushed open the door, ready to aim his crossbow at whatever might be waiting for him.
Inside the cabin, Daryl found a small cot, a few blankets, and some meager supplies. His eyes narrowed as he heard another whimper, this time coming from a dark corner of the room. He walked over to the corner, his crossbow still raised, and then froze in shock. โSis..?โ Daryl says as he sees you laying on the floor with a metal rod jabbed into your leg โDar..?โ you whimper in pain again trying to move โdonโ move i got you.โ Daryl picks you up carefully after he slung his crossbow on his back โHey where โere you?!โ Daryl yells silently trying not to attract any walkers โYer ass up and fuckin left at the quarry! me n merle thought yer ass was grass!โ Daryl looks at you like you were crazy โI was out huntinโ nd i got lost is all..โ you cling onto Darylโs neck on the verge of tears from missing your big brother havenโt seen him in almost a few years
Daryl held you tightly, his grip protective and firm. He couldn't believe you were here, alive and in his arms after so long. The anger and relief mixed in his voice as he spoke, "And you didn't think ta come back? We thought yer dumbass had gone belly up!"He carefully placed you on the cot, his hands gently inspecting the metal rod lodged in your leg. "Jesus christ, what happened โere?" he asked, his brow furrowing as he took in the extent of your injury. โI-I donโt know i woke up like this- Shit!โ you exclaim as he places you on the cot of the cabin Daryl quickly grabbed a blanket from the cot's side and placed it over you. "Hang in there, I'm gonโ fix this. Just sit tighโโ He carefully examined the metal rod stuck in your leg, cursing under his breath as he realized he needed to remove it to bandage the wound. โi gotta take you back to Alexandria..โ Daryl says looking at you โAlexandria..? whoโs that..โ you ask brows furrowed confused on who this person is. Daryl stopped what he was doing and looked at you, surprise and slight disbelief in his eyes.
"You don' know โbout Alexandria?" he asked, his voice rough with a hint of incredulity. โWhat no who is that?โ you ask very confused at this point Daryl's expression softened a bit, realizing that you had been out of the loop for a long time. "Alexandria's a settlement, a safe place," he explained, his voice gruff but earnest. "People livin behind walls, tryin to make a life โgain." He continued to tend to your leg, his hands working quickly yet gently to extract the metal rod. "It's got a doctor, a school, everythin we need to survive," he said, his eyes focused on the task at hand. โSo youโre gonna bring me there?โ you ask him hoping heโll take you there so you can get this damned thing out Daryl huffed, his expression softening a bit as he met your gaze. "Yeah, you dumbass," he said gruffly. "We'll get you patched up in Alexandria. Can't have ya limping around in these woods." โDo you at least have a car or somethinโ..? i donโt think i can bear to walk anymore..โ you say clenching your fists in pain Daryl shook his head grimly. "No car. Can't risk the noise attracting every walker in a mile radius." He finished bandaging your leg with what little supplies he had, his expression turning thoughtful as a possible solution came to mind. you groan โthen how are we supposed to get me there..โ you ask looking up at daryl scared out of your mind.
Daryl let out a low sigh, his gaze flickering over your injured leg. He knew the trip back to Alexandria would be difficult in your current condition, especially without a vehicle. He looked around the cabin, his eyes roaming the small space for a solution. Then, an idea struck him. "I got an option, but yer not gon like it." Daryl glanced back at you, his expression a mix of determination and hesitation. you huff โjust spit it out alreadyโ you sigh looking at your hands picking at them Daryl took a moment to gather his thoughts, knowing what he was about to say would likely shock you. He met your gaze, his expression serious."I'm gon โave to carry you." โH-how though?!โ you wince โthis rod will get in the way!โ you say pointing to the rod with both hands looking at him confused Daryl eyed the rod sticking out of your leg for a moment, the logistics of the situation becoming more complicated. He knew that trying to carry you with it still in place would cause excruciating pain and risk further injury. He let out a low growl, his frustration and concern clearly showing. "I'm gon ave to take it out first." You look at him eyes wide tears threatening to spill out โW-what?! No! You canโt!โ your breathing starts to grow frantic โNo Daryl please!โDaryl's heart clenched at your frantic plea, your panicked expression tugging at his protective instincts. He reached out, placing a hand on your shoulder in a rare moment of gentleness. โI know it's gon hurt like a sonโa bitch, but we can't walk back with tha thing still in โere," he said gruffly, his voice betraying a hint of regret.
-๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฉ-
As Daryl carried you in his arms, your head rested against his chest, your pain and exertion leaving you almost unconscious. The journey back to Alexandria had been grueling, each step a new challenge in your already battered state. Finally, the walls of Alexandria loomed in the distance, the promise of safety and medical care within reach. The sound of footsteps and voices grew louder as they approached the gates. Daryl yelled out, his voice gruff but urgent. "Open tha damn gate! We got an injured one over โere!" The gates swung open with a clattering sound, as a group of people rushed out, their faces filled with concern and surprise. Daryl carried you into the community, his grip never loosening as he made a beeline for the infirmary. Carl, Maggie, Rick, and a few others followed behind, their faces filled with shock and relief as they took in the sight of the injured newcomer in Daryl's arms.
As they entered the infirmary, the medical staff immediately sprung into action. You were gently placed on a bed, your injury now in full view of the group. Questions filled the air, but Daryl's gaze never left your face, his expression a mixture of worry and determination. As you were placed on the bed, your injury now visible to the medical staff, the room erupted into a flurry of activity. The medical personnel worked quickly, their hands moving skillfully as they assessed your condition. Rick and the others stood at a distance, watching anxiously as the team worked to stabilize you. Daryl remained by your side, his eyes never leaving your face, his grip on your good hand a silent reassurance.
Carl stepped closer, his eyes widening in shock at the sight of the big hold in your leg. "What the hell happened?!" he asked, his voice laced with concern. โAnd who the hell is this?!โ Rick, who had been standing at a distance, now moved closer to the bed, his eyes taking in the extent of your injuries. He looked at Daryl, who answered Carl's question with a gruff response. "Found er out in a lil cabin down south an she was like this," Daryl said, his voice rough but tinged with a hint of protectiveness. "She was attacked by somethin an hadda damn rod stuck in er leg like a damn shish kebab." Daryl, feeling the weight of Rick's expectant gaze, let out a low sigh before speaking. He turned to look at you, his expression a mix of protectiveness and pride. "She's ma sister." Rick's eyes widened in surprise, the revelation clearly unexpected. "You have a sister?" he asked, looking between you and Daryl.
Daryl nodded, his grip on your hand unconsciously tightening a bit. "Yeah. Hadn't seen er in a few years," he admitted gruffly, a hint of vulnerability in his voice. โShe ran away fore Lori, Carl, an Shane got to tha quarry..โ Rick's expression softened, understanding now the reason behind Daryl's protectiveness. He glanced at you, taking in the seriousness of your condition and the bond between you and Daryl. โDamn," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. "Why the hell she ainโt come back?" Daryl glances at rick before looking back down at you โDonโ know me a Merle was out looking for er every single day..โ Rick could see the pain in Daryl's eyes as he spoke of the wasted effort to find you. He realized the extent of Daryl's dedication to searching for you, how much it must have weighed on him all these years. "That's some damn loyalty...." Rick said, his voice filled with respect. Daryl nodded, his jaw clenching tightly as he remembered those days of searching high and low for a sign of you, always coming up empty-handed. "We thought she was long gone," he muttered, his voice heavy with regret. "Never thought I'd find er like this, hurtin' an alone in tha goddamn woods.โ
Rick's expression turned somber, his gaze flicking back to your injured leg. He knew that finding you was only half the battle; now, the priority was ensuring your recovery and getting you the medical care you desperately needed. "Well," Rick said, his voice taking on a note of determination. "She's not alone now. We'll make sure she gets the help she needs." Daryl nodded, his grip on your hand tightening briefly. He knew he could trust Rick, and with the resources of Alexandria at their disposal, he allowed himself a glimmer of hope for your recovery. The medical team continued to work diligently, their focus now on stabilizing you and addressing your injury. They knew the next few hours would be critical, and every step they took could mean the difference between life and death for you. As they worked, Daryl stayed by your side, his presence a silent reassurance. He knew you were safe for the moment, but the anxiety and worry remained etched on his face. Rick, observing Daryl's demeanor, couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness for his friend. He knew the toll the search for you had taken on him. The room was filled with the sound of medical equipment beeping and the quiet murmur of the medical team as they discussed your condition. Daryl's eyes never left you, and Rick could see the depth of his love and concern for you.
As the medical team continued their work, Daryl's exhaustion began to show. His shoulders sagged, and his eyes were red from fatigue and stress. Rick could see the toll the past few hours had taken on him, both physically and emotionally. โHey do you wanโ me to watch over her?โ Rick asked Daryl, Daryl looked at Rick, his expression a mixture of gratitude and weariness. He knew he needed rest, but the thought of leaving you terrified him. "Yeah," he finally said, his voice gruff but tinged with vulnerability. "I needa moment, but you'll come tell me if anythinโ changes, ight?" Rick nodded, understanding the trust Daryl was placing in him. " course. You take a break, and I'll keep an eye on her. Everything will be alright." With a final, lingering look at your unconscious form, Daryl reluctantly let go of your hand and stood up. His eyes met Rick's, a silent message of thanks passing between them. Daryl slowly walked out of the infirmary, the weight of worry and exhaustion heavy on his shoulders. He felt a pang of guilt for leaving your side, but he knew he needed rest to be of any use to you. Rick sat down next to you, his gaze fixed intently on your face. He took in every detail, the freckle on your nose, the curve of your chin, the way your brows furrowed even in your unconscious state. You were beautiful. His heart ached at the sight of you lying wounded and vulnerable, and a mix of emotions overcame him. Rick felt a sense of protectiveness, as if he was your guardian watching over you. As he sat there, his thoughts drifted back to the conversation he had with Daryl moments ago. He couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the loyalty and devotion Daryl had shown to you. He had never seen Daryl so protective and vulnerable before.
Rick silently vowed to himself that he would do everything in his power to help your recovery and ensure your safety within the community. Rick's attention was immediately drawn to you as you started to show signs of waking up. He leaned forward, his gaze fixed on your face as he waited for you to fully regain consciousness. โH-Hello? W-Where am i? Who are you?! Whereโs Daryl?!โ You shout at rick frightened and confused, Rick's expression softened as he saw the fear and confusion in your eyes. "Hey, hey. Calm down. You're safe now. My name's Rick, and you're in the infirmary in a community called Alexandria." He held up his hands in a gesture of reassurance, trying to soothe your anxiousness. "Daryl is here too. He's just taking a break. But he'll be here soon, I promise." you nod your head โS-So this is the place Daryl said he was taken me..?โ you look up at Rick Rick nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, this is the place. It's a safe community, and we have everything you need to recover and feel comfortable.โ He glanced at your injured leg, concern crossing his face. "How're you feeling?" he asked gently, his eyes flitting between your face and the bandaged up leg "My leg's throbbing like hell.." you admit, wincing a bit as you readjust your position Rick's expression softened even more, a hint of compassion in his eyes. "I can imagine. You've been through a lot. They're doing everything they can to help you here, I promise.โ He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a hushed tone. "Daryl's been worried sick about you, you know. He's been by your side since we found you in the woods." Hearing this, you felt a wave of guilt wash over you. The last thing you wanted was for Daryl to worry about you. "I didn't mean to cause him any trouble.." you murmured, your gaze falling to your hands fidgeting with the bed sheets. Rick shook his head, his eyes filled with understanding. "You're not trouble. Daryl cares about you deeply, and he's just happy to have found you. Trust me, it woulda been far more trouble for him if he hadn't found you.โ
A heavy silence hung in the air for a moment. Rick looked at you, his gaze softening further. "Mind me asking how did all this happen?" You sighed, knowing you couldn't avoid the question. "I don't know exactly. I just woke up with the metal rod in my leg. Was delirious for a bit after that.." Rick listened intently, his expression serious. "You don't remember anythinโ else? Nothinโ โbout how you got there, or who attacked you?" You thought for a moment, trying to recall any details, but it was all a blur. "I-I don't remember anything. Just pain and...darkness." You shudder at the memory, your hand instinctively resting on your injured leg as if to provide comfort. Rick noticed your reaction, a sympathetic look in his eyes. "You've been through a traumatic experience, and I can't blame you for not remembering everything. Just take it easy for now, okay? The important thing is that you're safe and you're gonna be alrighโ ."
-๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฉ-
As the following days passed, you spent a lot of time confined to the infirmary. The medical team worked diligently to tend to your injuries and ensure your recovery. Rick would occasionally come to visit, bringing you company and updates on the community. He was genuinely good company, his presence bringing a sense of comfort and security to your recovery, Daryl would visit you in the infirmary multiple times a day. He would sit next to your bedside, his gaze never leaving your face as if he was afraid to miss something. He didn't say much, but his presence spoke volumes. He would often hold your hand, his touch gentle but filled with unspoken affection and worry. As Daryl sat by your bedside one evening, his gaze fixed on your face, he spoke softly."You like Rick?" he asked, his voice a mix of curiosity and slight hesitation. You look up at daryl confused โwhat? what do you mean? where is this cominโ from dar?โ Daryl shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his gaze shifting away from you for a moment before returning. It was rare to see him this uneasy, his usual confident demeanor replaced with a hint of vulnerability."It's just... I noticed how much time he's been spendin' around โere. Checkin' up on you constantly and allat. Seems like he cares a lot."
You raised an eyebrow, not quite understanding where Daryl was going with this. You shifted slightly on the infirmary bed, wincing as your injured leg brushed against the sheets."Yeah, I've noticed that too. He's been really kind to me, guess he's just a good person." Daryl looks at you with his usual cold glare โNah i think itโs sum else goin on in that guys head..โ You furrowed your brow, not quite understanding Daryl's insinuation. It was unusual for him to be so critical and suspicious. You couldn't help but feel a pang of defensiveness. โWhat do you mean? Rick's been nothing but nice to me. He's just trying to help." Daryl's expression remained stoic, his eyes fixed on you. "Maybe he is, but..." He paused, as if searching for the right words. "Rick's always been the type to keep his cards close to his chest. There's somethin' about him, somethin' beneath all that nice and polite. โm thinkin he likes you sis." You raised an eyebrow, caught off guard by Daryl's statement. "What makes you say that? He's just being nice to me because I'm hurt. That's all." Daryl chuckled dryly. "You don' see it, do ya? The way he looks at you, the way he talks to ya. It's not just 'cause yer hurt, believe me." You roll your eyes and chuckle โHeโs just being kind because iโm hurt dar, plus me and him have only really known each other for a weekโ Daryl shakes his head, a hint of frustration in his expression. โMaybe. But trust me, I know when someoneโs got an agenda. And the way Rickโs been treatinโ you...it ainโt just kindness. Thereโs somethinโ more there."
You rolled your eyes, growing weary of Daryl's insistence. โIf you're so worried about it, why don't you ask him yourself? I'm sure Rick would set the record straight real quick." Daryl huffed, knowing that you were right. He knew he couldn't just make assumptions without knowing for sure. Reluctantly, he nodded. "Fine. I'll talk to him. But don't say I didn't warn ya." You chuckled lightly at Daryl's stubborn determination. "Alright, go ahead and have that talk. But try not to start a fight over a hunch, โkay?" Daryl grumbled silently to himself before nodding once again. "I'll keep a cool head. But mark my words, something's goin' on with Rick. I can feel it in my gut." You watch as Daryl strides out of the infirmary, a mixture of amusement and annoyance on your face. You knew Daryl had a tendency to assume the worst in people, especially considering his past experiences. He was a naturally suspicious person, which often led him to misinterpret people's intentions.
Daryl approached Rick, his expression serious and determined. He found Rick perched on a bench, reading a book in the evening light. "Can I talk to ya for a second?" Daryl said abruptly, his voice gruff but betraying a hint of concern. Rick looked up from his book, his expression turning curious as he noticed the serious look on Daryl's face. He could tell this wasn't a casual chat. He closed his book, setting it aside as he focused his attention on Daryl. โYeah, what's up?" Rick asked, his voice calm but slightly wary. Daryl's gaze flicked around the area, making sure nobody overheard their conversation. He leaned closer to Rick, his gaze locking with his. โI need to ask you somethin'. And I want a straight answer." Rick's curiosity piqued. He nodded, his expression still calm but a hint of seriousness crept into his expression. "Alright, shoot." Daryl hesitated for a moment, his gaze fixed on Rick's face as he gathered his thoughts. He took a deep breath before finally speaking. "You got a thing for ma sister?" he blurted out, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Rick eyes widened in surprise, clearly caught off guard by Daryl's question. He stared at him, trying to gauge Daryl's face, before replying, "Excuse me?" Daryl's expression remained stoic, his gaze intense as he repeated his question. "You heard me. You got a thing for ma sister? You been spending a โpicious amount of time at her bedside since we found โer." Rick raised an eyebrow, a touch of amusement in his expression despite the tension. "I don't see anything suspicious about it," he said in a measured tone. "She was badly injured, needed medical care. She's still recovering." Daryl's expression stayed unyielding. "Right, but you been visitin' her all tha damn time. Ain't none of tha other folks been doin' that. It's almost like you can't stay away from her." Rick's expression softened slightly as he realized Daryl wasn't letting this go. He sighed, rubbing a hand over his face in a rare moment of vulnerability. "Alright, fine. You want the truth? I do have...feelings for her. I can't deny that." Daryl's stoic expression broke for a moment, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. He had secretly hoped he was wrong about Rick's feelings for you, but hearing the confirmation made his heart sink. He quickly composed himself, his expression hardening once more.
"How long have you been feelin' this way?" he asked, his voice gruff but tinged with a hint of anger. Rick sighed, his gaze drifting away for a moment before returning to Daryl. "I'm not sure. It's been building for a while now. Since we found her, it's felt different. Stronger." Daryl's jaw clenched, his hands balling into fists. "So youโve got feelings for ma sister. Yer gon act on em or what?โ Darylโs voice was low and dangerous now. Rick shook his head vigorously, his demeanor changing to one of urgency. "No, no. It's not like that. I understand your concern, Daryl. I really do. But I would never act on these feelings without your blessin. She's your sister first." Daryl glared at Rick, his gaze intense and protective. "Damn righ she is. And I ainโt bout to watch you toy with er emotions, or worse, break er heart." Rick held up his hands in a gesture of surrender, his expression sincere. "I would never do that, Daryl. I care about her more than you realize. I want to be there for her, protect her, make sure she's happy. If that means stayin away and respecting your wishes, I'll do it without hesitation." Daryl's expression softened slightly as he heard Rick's words. He could sense the sincerity in his voice and the genuine care he had for you. But he still couldnโt shake off the doubts "You say tha now," he muttered, his voice gruff "But things change. People change. How do I know you ainโt just gon hurt er in tha long run?" Rick looks at Daryl with the most stern, serious face Darylโs ever seen โDaryl, you are like a brother to me i would never, and i mean never, hurt someone thatโs family to you, especially if i have feelings for them.โ Daryl studied Rick's face, searching for any signs of dishonesty or deceit. But he found none. Reluctantly, he nodded, accepting Rick's words for now. โFine. โm trustin you, man. But โm gonna be keepin an eye on you. If you ever even think bout breakin her heart, Iโll be there to knock some sense into ya. Got it?โ Rick nodded, his expression just as serious as Daryl's. "You have my word, Daryl. I have no intentions of hurting her, and I understand the importance of your trust. I wonโt let you down."
-๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฉ-
After his conversation with Daryl, Rick spent the following days quietly mulling over his feelings. The weight of his emotions grew stronger each passing day, and he knew he could no longer keep them locked away. After several days of contemplating the right moment, Rick finally made his way to the infirmary and walked to your bedside. He stood there for a moment, watching you sleep peacefully. The sight of you resting, still bruised on a few spots, made him feel a mix of tenderness and worry. He took a deep breath, steeling his nerves, and softly spoke your name. Your eyes fluttered open, slowly adjusting to the dimly lit room and the sight of Rick standing by your bedside. A faint smile curved your lips as you recognized him. โHey,โ you said softly, your voice slightly hoarse from being asleep. Rick smiled warmly, his gaze locked on your face. He felt his heart skip a beat as he looked at you, his emotions now more clear than ever. โHey,โ he replied, his voice tinged with a mix of nervousness and tenderness. He took a seat beside your bed, his eyes never leaving yours. You noticed the change in Rickโs demeanor, the usual composed expression now replaced with a hint of vulnerability. It piqued your curiosity, but you remained silent, waiting for him to speak his mind. The silence grew slightly uncomfortable as Rick fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, gathering his thoughts. โHey there somethinโ wrong?โ You ask Rick noticing him being more fidgety thank usual Rick's gaze flickered away from you for a moment, his expression a mix of hesitation and determination. He let out a deep breath before speaking, his voice quieter than usual.
โI, uh, I need to talk to you about something, something important,โ he murmured, his eyes searching your face. You look up at him with a confused look โokay..?โ Rick nodded, his expression growing more serious. He knew that the moment he had spent days thinking about was finally here. He took a deep breath, his gaze fixed on your face as he gathered his courage. โI... I have something to confess,โ he said, his voice softer than a whisper. โIt's about... my feelings.โ โYour feelings, hey whatโs goin on Rick?โ You ask him slightly shifting your torso to face him more Rick took a deep breath, his heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and vulnerability. He looked at you, his gaze never wavering. โItโs something I've been wrestling with for a while now... my feelings for you,โ he admitted quietly, his voice tinged with sincerity. โThey've grown stronger with each day we've spent together, and I can't ignore them any longer.โ As the words left Rick's lips, you could feel the air shift, the weight of his confession hanging in the air. โW-what-โ your eyes widen in surprise, words stuck on your tongue. But before you could finish your sentence, Rick leaned in, capturing your words with a swift, tender kiss. His lips gently met yours, and you could feel the intensity of his emotions pouring into the connection. It was as if he was pouring out his soul through the kiss, expressing all the pent-up feelings he had been holding back all this time. The kiss lingered for a moment longer before Rick slowly pulled away, his gaze fixed on your face. He watched as your expression shifted from surprise to realization, a mix of emotions swirling in your eyes. His hand remained tenderly intertwined with yours, his thumb gently rubbing against your knuckles. โIโฆ I didnโt know how else to say it,โ Rick murmured, his voice soft and vulnerable. โThese feelings have been growing inside me, taking hold of my thoughts and my heart. I canโt ignore them any longer. I need you to knowโฆ I have feelings for you.โ Your mind whirled with emotions as Rick's words hung heavily in the air. His confession had taken you by surprise, but as the words sunk in, you couldn't deny the truth within you. With a mix of nervousness and certainty, you finally spoke up, your voice soft yet firm. โIโฆ.I feel the same way, Rick.โ Rickโs eyes widened, surprise and hope flickered in his gaze. He could hardly believe what he was hearing. Your words had given him the answer he had been longing for, the validation of his feelings mutual. Without wasting another moment, Rick gently cupped your face in his hands, his gaze locked on your eyes. He drew closer, closing the short distance between you, his expression both tender and hungry for connection. Your lips met in a passionate kiss, a whirlwind of suppressed emotions and undeniable feelings.

๐ฌ Just a Small Update, and a Big Thank You
Dear friends, kind hearts, and everyone who has stood with us,
When I first opened my heart to the world and shared our story, I never imagined the amount of love and solidarity we would receive. Thanks to your incredible support, weโve now reached $12,837โa milestone that brings real light to some very dark days.
From the deepest corners of my heart, thank you.
๐ A Journey of Loss, but Also of Strength
As many of you know, Iโve lost 25 of my loved ones during this devastating war. That grief lives with me every single day. Itโs in the silence that once held laughter, in the empty spaces where we once gathered as a family.
But through your help, Iโve also felt something else: hope. And that hope is priceless.
โ21/Oct/2023 Before It Reached Us: The Day Our Neighborโs House Was Destroyedโ A quiet moment of fear, filmed just before everything changed.

โ22/Oct/2023 The Morning After: Our Family Home in Ruinsโ This is what was left behind after the bombing of our home.

๐ฟ What Life Looks Like for Us Now
Despite everything, weโre still here. Still surviving. Still hoping.
But things have only gotten harder.
The war has returned, more brutal than beforeโand for over a month now, Gaza has been completely sealed off. No food is coming in. No medical supplies. No aid. No trade. No one is allowed to leave, and no one is allowed to enter.
Weโre trapped.

๐ We live with the fear of tomorrow, every single day. Airstrikes, drones, and the uncertainty of what might happen next. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง Our family is forever changedโwe havenโt just lost people; weโve lost pieces of ourselves. ๐ Basic needs go unmetโeven clean water feels like a luxury now. Medicines, if they exist at all, are unreachable.
And yetโฆ
Your support reminds us that weโre not forgotten. It reminds us that someone, somewhere, is still listening. That someone still cares. That weโre not completely alone in this.
Every message. Every share. Every dollar. It tells us: Youโre walking this road with us. And that gives us the strength to keep going.
๐ What You Can Do
If youโve already donatedโthank you beyond words. If you can share our story again, it could reach someone who can help.
Even $5 means warmth, comfort, and a chance to breathe a little easier.
โจ Why It All Matters
This isnโt just about reaching a fundraising goal. Itโs about surviving war with dignity. Itโs about believing in tomorrow. Itโs about making sure my daughter grows up knowing that the world did not look away.
Thank you for your kindness, patience, and belief in our humanity. Youโve helped me find my voiceโand I will use it to keep hope alive.
๐ From the Heart: A Quiet Apology
Thereโs something I need to sayโsomething thatโs been on my heart for some time.
When I first began sharing our story, I didnโt know what the right way was. I was scared, grieving, and trying to protect my family in any way I could. I reached out to many people, hoping someone, anyone, would see us. In that process, I now realize I may have overstepped, and I might have made some feel overwhelmed.
If that happened, I am truly sorry.
Please believe me when I say it was never out of disregard or pushiness. It came from a place of fearโfear of being forgotten, fear of not being able to keep my family safe, fear of watching everything I love slip away in silence.
Iโm learning as I go. Iโve slowed down. Iโm more mindful now, trying to share our journey in a way that feels respectful of the space and hearts of those listening.
If my words ever came at the wrong time, or in the wrong way, I hope you can understand where they came fromโand I hope you can forgive me.
Thank you for seeing past my mistakes. Thank you for still being here. It means more than I can ever explain.
With love and endless gratitude, Mosab and family โฅ๏ธ

My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza
My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined Iโd be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knewโmy home, my safety, my communityโwas ripped away from me.

The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying theyโll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and itโs become a daily battle just to survive.
Iโve seen things I never thought possibleโstanding in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everythingโmy home, my safety, my dignity.
Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but itโs almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, Iโm trapped in a warzone with no way out.
Iโm reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chanceโjust a chanceโto live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.
Any amount you can give will help me get closer to safety. Even the smallest donation will make a differenceโit could be the lifeline I need to survive. If you are unable to donate, please share my story. The more people who hear it, the better the chance that I can find the support I desperately need.
Your kindness and support mean the world to me. Youโre not just helping me escape a war; youโre giving me a chance to live, to rebuild, to breathe again.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring.

๐ธ From One Motherโs Heart โ Please Read ๐ธ
My name is Saja. Iโm a wife, a mother, and a woman who once believed her story would be simple. I thought my days would be filled with watching my daughter grow โ from her first smile to her first steps โ surrounded by the small joys of everyday life.
But life had other plans.

War has returned to our home. Again. And once again, we find ourselves living under skies that never seem to rest.
There was a moment โ a fragile, breathless moment โ when the bombs paused and the world seemed to remember us. It gave us hope. We thought maybe, just maybe, we could start to rebuild. But now, we are back in the dark โ hiding, holding on, praying.
Iโm writing this not as someone seeking pity, but as a mother who has no other choice but to speak.
Imagine holding your baby in the middle of the night, not because she cried, but because the world outside roared too loud for either of you to sleep. Imagine whispering bedtime stories not to lull her into dreams, but to keep the fear from settling into her tiny bones.
This is my life.
This is my daughterโs life.
And even now โ especially now โ I believe in softness. I believe in kindness. Because when everything else is taken from you, hope becomes the most valuable thing you have.
Why Iโm Reaching Out Our home has been damaged. Our lives changed. But through it all, my daughter wakes up every morning with a smile. She reaches for me with trust, with love, with faith that I will keep her safe.
Thatโs why I keep going.
Iโve launched a campaign to ask for help โ not because itโs easy, but because silence is no longer an option. I am asking for support not just for me, but for my baby, and for the quiet strength of so many mothers like me who are fighting, every single day, to hold their families together.
How You Can Help: ๐ค Help us restore parts of our home so we can live with dignity ๐ค Support women and mothers in Gaza with access to care and resources ๐ค Keep the light of hope alive for a generation born in the shadows of war
๐ If you can, please support our journey here:
If you canโt give, please consider sharing. Your voice might be the reason someone else hears ours.
From My Heart to Yours Maybe our lives are worlds apart. Maybe youโve never lived through war. But if youโve ever held a child and wished the world could be better for them โ then you understand more than you know.
I donโt want my daughter to grow up thinking the world turned away.
Please, if youโve read this far โ thank you. Thank you for seeing us. Thank you for caring. We are still here. Still hoping. Still holding on to every kind act like itโs a lifeline.
With love and endless gratitude

"I am Nadineโฆ an ordinary woman in an extraordinary place. A mother, just trying to protect a small life in a world that has lost its meaning." ๐ธ
Hello, My name is Nadine. I am a Palestinian mother to a little girl who has become the center of my life and the reason for my strength. ๐ We live today in harsh circumstances, unlike anything we knew life to be. Our home is no longer a homeโฆ we live in displacement, fear, lack of food, absence of medicine, and a lack of safety. ๐
Yet every morning, I open my eyes to my daughter's face, and I try again. ๐ Because she is here, I must stay strong. ๐ช Because she is small, I need to create a safe world for herโฆ even though my world is broken.
We don't have much, but we hold on to each other. ๐ค
I write these words to share a moment of our reality that you may not see in the news. Iโm not seeking pity, nor do I want to burden anyoneโฆ All I ask is that my words reach a heart that knows compassion, and understands that help, even in the smallest form, can make a big difference in someone's life like ours. โจ

Life here doesnโt go as it shouldโฆ but it goes on. We live on hope, the kindness of strangers, words of encouragement, and hands that reach out at the right time. ๐ Maybe you canโt change everything, but you can change one day in our livesโฆ And one day with dignity is all we need to keep fighting. ๐ซ
Even a kind word, sharing this post, or a sincere prayerโฆ all of that makes a difference to us. ๐
Thank youโฆ from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being here, for reading, for not turning a blind eye. To everyone who passed by here and left a kind mark: You are part of our strength. ๐ท From me and my little one: All my gratitude and all my prayers. ๐

Heโs not just a number โ heโs a human with a dream, and he wants to live with dignity." โ
Iโm his brother, and today Iโm sharing this video where Mohammed talks about our pain, our life, and the dream he refuses to give up โ even in the middle of war.
If his voice reaches your heart, please help him continue his journey. โค๏ธ
