I know I'm chronically ill when I nearly burst into tears when I thought my heating pad was broken. It turns out I turned on the wrong switch.

Chronic pain is forever asking yourself if you can get through this pain or if you should reach for the medication. Deciding no and sitting there repeating to yourself "it's not that bad, I need to save the pain meds for when it's worse."

just a quick reminder to all my chronically ill friends out there:

Nobody prepared you for what was going to happen in your life. You didn’t get a warning that chronic illness was going to become a major part of your life. You have been able to figure this out with zero preparation, and for that I am proud of you. <3
