Kanna fiddle with her sleeve as she tried to think of how Lian and Rin could “accidentally” run into each other again. Rin was quite busy with training, and teaching and spending time with his family. Kanna only ever saw him at the academy. 

Her brown eyes began to look back towards the room Kiochi was sleeping in, but snapped towards the door as she heard it open. Ryota walked in with a bag of groceries and a content smile on his face. 

“I have dinner for tonight!” He beamed at his wife and cousin in law. “Lian you only have a couple days left here and you haven’t had a real authentic northern family dinner. Prepare your tastebuds!” 

Kanna giggled at his excitement before turning her attention back to Lian once more, “We don’t have to talk about it anymore. Just know that I’m bugging you about this because I want to see you two happy.”

Lian smiled at Ryota’s enthusiam; if there was one thing she could never deny, it was that her cousin’s husband always made her feel more than welcome whenever they saw each other.

“I’ll do that,” she told him, corners of her mouth turning up in a slight smirk. “But try and keep your voice down, or else you’ll have to prepare yourself to deal with a cranky little boy.” 

Her son was normally a very sweet child, but he did not like to be awoken from his naps, or be forced to wake up at all. A trait shared between him and his Uncle Hiro, Lian thought with a grin. 

Lian then turned back to Kanna and said, in a completely sincere voice, “We are happy. I mean, yeah, it’s hard sometimes...A lot of the time, actually...But we get through it just fine.”
