“This absolutely seems like a time to be chill,” Jackson bit off sharply, before turning away to collect his phone and try to calm himself.  The girl had jumped down his throat and he was going to at least try to be the bigger person and not let it get to him any further.  “No, it didn’t.  Made me feel better for a second, though.”  He wasn’t about to get into some personal issue with the headmistress, so he made a noncommittal noise as he kept his eyes on the door.  “Ah, got it,” Jackson nodded, putting together roughly who she meant.  “No, nothing that glamorous.  Hope Mikaelsons step-father, I was just here looking for her.”

“Riiight, cause man-panic is such a great way to deal with this, very helpful to your wife I’m sure.” She nods her head dryly giving him a slight roll of her eyes as she did. She gives a shrug, “I have no idea who that is.” The Mikaelson name was one she heard from Tyler and the vague idea that all vampires came from them but she never took notes on the family tree and a step-father seemed out of place for her to place to memory either way. “Right well I’m sure if you keep chucking your phone around maybe you’ll end up throwing it in her direction.”

Now wasn’t the best of times for Cora to be calling upon her wolf temper, but when you mixed the insane situation with heightened emotions, you couldn’t exactly find a stable ground to balance upon. “No? somehow I don’t believe that” she bit back, the heat within her tone straining her voice, “you’d have let her bleed out just enough for you to get what you wanted – and then left her to die. Her gaze was quick to narrow as her jaw tightened, “you’re an expert on who does what now? I’m still here, so I’ve obviously done something right. Sorry to go against your shitty expectations.” Her digits tightened around the metal bar she had been using to fend off the creatures and with her senses on high alert, she could hear the thud of more footsteps approaching. “I’d rather take my chances with one of them than being stuck in a corridor with your psychotic ass.” Liv’s words were only antagonising her further and the unstable wolf inside of her wanted to act, but as the shuffle of heavy footsteps continued to approach, she decided to cut her losses and pushed past Liv with a scowl, “there’s more coming. Better go and find some more teenagers to load up your traps.”

Liv nods her head, “Wow useless and psychic, funny how those two always seem to go hand in hand. And continuing to prove just how useless you are by showing you don’t have any clue what you’re talking about.” Liv might be harsh but she wasn’t heartless, letting someone die when she could save them wasn’t her goal but stopping the nearest monster certainly was. “Sheer luck isn’t really a skill set but go on.” Liv waves her hand, bickering wasn’t usually her go to but she had a mouth on her and an attitude so stopping herself wasn’t always easy and with the high tension it was near impossible. “Yeah run coward, go on and find some deep dark room to hide in while others put themselves in danger and do the work. Don’t worry I don’t expect a thanks or need one much like you aren’t getting one from her.” She nods at the bloody smear on the floor. “I don’t think I need anymore, pretty sure Weepy Annie’s blood will do plenty more for me, funny how a dead girl is being more helpful.”

Frustrations were growing high and although Cora could understand that survival instincts could kick in, in all different forms – she couldn’t understand sacrificing others. “You’re using innocent people as bait, so I guess they’re not the only monsters.” Just as she had intended to argue her point, had Liv’s plan gone ahead and the monster had been summoned. Cora’s frame shook as the splatter of blood hit her and she could see the expression on Liv’s face which only angered her more. “Just shut up” the young wolf spat back, pushing herself up from the ground as she shot a glare to the witch. She watched on as Liv took control of the creatures organs and it began to twist and convulse on the spot before combusting and sending pieces of entrails throughout the halls. The young wolf had managed to shield her features this time, but her clothing wasn’t as fortunate as she stood covered in goo. “Let me guess you’re gonna use me as bait next?” she hissed towards Liv.

Liv laughs, “Yeah I am, cause it was working. Only with my plan she wasn’t going to end up dead, that is till you showed up with your sad little candy striper act. ‘Everything is gonna be fine, don’t cry’ bullshit!” Liv points out, “I actually had a plan unlike some, actually stopped these things what have you done?” Liv wasn’t going to be caught off guard again by anything or one and if that made her a monster well she had to assume maybe it ran in the family after all. “No, you shut up. Cause I’m not letting some pre-teen whine fest cause my death.” Harsh as Liv came off she had her reasons and anyone who had to deal with the same crap she had since the age of four might understand. “I think we’ve both seen just how much you ruin plans, why would I want in include you in any of mine? So I can be smeared across the hospital floor like that bitch?”

As the cries of the injured party became louder and louder, Cora tore another part of her shirt and pushed the material into their mouth for them to bite down on to at least try to muffle the sound. “Please, you have to stay quiet” she whispered sternly once again. Her frame jolted as Liv revealed herself and already, she couldn’t bring herself to agree with the plan. “Seriously? – no way. Go find something else to use as bait, not a teenager.” Despite her best intentions however, just as Cora went to help lift the person from the ground, talons extended around the corner of the corridor and as she attempted to drag the other out of the way, a creature emerged and collapsed on top of the injured girl, spraying blood over both Liv and Cora. Without hesitation, she drew the metal bar she had been using as a weapon, scrambling to her feet as she drove it into the frame of the creature. But, instead of penetrating it, the metal became bent out of shape and did so with such a force that Cora went hurtling backwards.

Liv rolls her eyes, “Its either run around like headless chickens and let the monster control the playing field or take an advantage.” The wounded party wasn’t likely to be helpful in a fight, at least as a form of bait she could sit around and cry all she wanted to her heart content. “Pretty sure monsters aren’t checking I’Ds of who to kill and who not to, age doesn’t really factor in here.” When warm liquid splattered over Liv, she closed her eyes and mouth and gave a sour look to the other, “Great, hope you’re glad to see her no longer in pain.” She remarks in sarcasm as she backs away from the creature running over to the circle of salt she had poured stepping into the circle and lighting the candles around it with a rotating of her wrist, “Le specto tre colo ves bestia.” She started muttering the spell over and over, taking hold over the creatures heart from within it body. Causing the creature to convulse and screech in pain before its heart explodes out of its hard outer skin causing blood and debris to scatter around the room.

“Forgive me, your highness,” Jackson shot back.  “I guess the fact that I can’t get in touch with my pregnant wife in the middle of this shitstorm must be upsetting me just a tiny bit.  My fault.”  He grabbed the phone, useless brick that it was, and shoved it deep into the back pocket of his jeans without a second thought.  He’d seen enough magic to know that’s what she was doing, and he turned his attention to the door - if she were going to do a spell she likely needed a moment to concentrate, and the best way to do that would be if he was between her and the monsters.  “Student?” he called over his shoulder.  “Or teacher?”

Liv hums, “Ah I didn’t realize you have to be royal to expect people to chill the fuck out.” She mutters shrugging at his excuses, “Is attempting to destroy your phone somehow helping that knocked up wife of yours and I’m missing something?” She asks stopping what she is doing to give him a judgmental look before humming again and giving a nod of her head. Pouring her bottled water into the bowl and arranging the candles around the bowl she scoffed at his question. “This school isn’t nearly advanced enough to teach me and they couldn’t pay me nearly enough to work for Caroline Forbes.” She answers pinching herbs into smaller pieces and sprinkling it into the water. “My sister’s baby daddy is the idiot who runs the place with Caroline Forbes. Who are you? Maintenance man?”

“Piece of crap!” Jackson shouted as his phone made the same annoying tone all over again.  Ever since the shit had quite seriously hit the fan, he’d been cut off from Hayley.  It was bad enough that his pregnant wife was out there somewhere by herself, but the fact that he didn’t know where, or whether she was hurt or worse, was making him sick with worry.  From what little word they were getting the monsters that had swarmed the town were nearly everywhere, which meant there was little chance she’d been able to evade them.  Add that to his concern for Hope and there was little room left for anything but more worry.

Turning, Jackson whipped the phone against the wall, where the ridiculous case Hope had insisted on getting him cushioned the blow and it fell unharmed to the floor of the school. He stared disbelieving at it for a long moment before he shook his head.  “Can’t even do that right.”

Liv stopped just in time for the cell phone to whip by her, hit the wall and then fall to the ground, staring at it for a moment before looking up at the male who threw it. “Wow, you’re making a great stand against the gross things trying to claw their way through the halls of the school.” She says in her usual dry tone as she steps over the phone and starts collecting things from the shelves, a bowl, towels, candles and few herbs. She had to say that if anything she was glad she was stuck in a school made for the supernatural such as little budding witches. “I don’t do pep talks, so...all I got is suck it Sparky?” She says as she pushes a bunch of crap off of the table that she decided to work at placing her bowl and others things down on it. “Though the whole male, unable to process emotions without trying to break things really does hit home for me in a gross too much testosterone kind of way.”

If being raised by a parent who severed in the military had taught Cora anything, it was how to survive. Her initial intentions had been to locate the school’s armoury, loading herself up with weapons that she could use in assistance of her newly acquired supernatural abilities. Her actions were calculated and she was careful to ensure she didn’t draw any unnecessary attention towards herself. 

That plan had been working well, until she came across an injured individual, wailing loudly in the hallways. “You have to be quiet” she called out from around a corner, beginning to tear her blouse as she made a makeshift gauze to control the bleeding. “They’ll hear you.” There was a slight hesitation as she assessed the area to make sure that nothing was lurking within the darkness, before she ran towards the other and dropped to her knee’s beside them. “Here, its okay.. Its okay.”

Liv rolled her eyes as another figure came running up to the sobbing mess that Liv was sort of hoping would lure in some kind of monster that was roaming the halls. At least then she could have the damn thing where she wanted it, “You mind? You’re kind of sullying my bait.” She hisses from her spot in the corner, dropping her cloaking so the other could see her. “She won’t stop crying enough to do anything else so I found another task for her.” At least the other would have some kind of credit in stopping a monster rather than being useless in a closet alone.

“Oh sorry, should I bring up the Lockwood foundation instead, is that not getting talked about enough?” The former witch asks with a sly smirk and tilt of her head. Her arms snaking around his shoulders, fingers playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. “Then why don’t I hear the sound of fabric ripping?” She asks faking a pondering expression and tilting her head to listen out for the sound.

Luke tried desperately to take in his sisters words and hold onto them; to draw some of her stubborn determination into himself. She was right - two heads were better than one and they were practically two halves of a whole person destined to stand united rather than apart. “What? No. I’d never hurt you, Liv. I’d die first.” He remarked when she questioned him, letting out a small sigh as she compared his guilt and empathy in bounds to what Kai had displayed.

“Maybe.” He uttered softly. “Maybe you’re right, Sis, but I’m just - I’m scared.” He admitted and chewed his lip for a moment before deciding to just lay his cards on the table. She knew half of the situation and it was better she knew the entire truth instead of walking around with only half of the information. “I’ve been.. using magic to sort of calm my thoughts when they get too frazzled and the impulses start piling up.” He explained and frowned. “Dark magic. The surge of adrenaline and chaotic energy from it is the only thing I’ve found that even helps - like the side effects of the magic sort of push aside the impulses for a time before they return…” He sighed

“Without our magic… with whatever this is that’s going on now. I don’t know if I can keep the thoughts at bay.” The witch finally spoke as he adjusted himself in his sister’s embrace.

Liv figured that would be his answer, in fact that was her point. “That’s right, you’re not gonna hurt me so there’s no way in hell I’m gonna ditch you when you need me.” She wasn’t the type to ditch her loved ones and she certainly wasn’t going to let Kai get away with hurting Luke even more than he already had. 

Listening to her brother talk Liv nods her head understanding, while if it were anyone else she might have teased them to high heaven for admitting fear simply as her own coping mechanism. However when he went on to mention using dark magic her understanding nods were replaced by a swift smooth smack to the back of his head with a flick of her wrist. “How thick headed are you?” She asks boring her bright blue eyes right into his, “Seriously, on a scale from one to fucking stupid.” 

Dark magic was nothing to play with, certainly not with the added dark nature that he was struggling with, it was like throwing gas on a fire trying to put it out. Cause hey at least the gas is a liquid. “We don’t use dark magic to take care of things!” She hisses at him before letting out a sigh, “Magic being gone is gonna be a blessing for you, we can get you off the dark shit and get your head right enough before we get magic back and I can help you the right way. We’re better than using dark magic to get an easy fix.”

Enjoy it.” He twisted and curled into himself as he sat on her bed. “Whatever that Merge did to me… How are we going to fix something like a broken soul?” He questioned her with nothing but concern in his tone. “Then we will figure it out.” Liv replies determined, Luke was the last person on the earth that she would ever give up on. “That’s what we do, two heads are better than one.” They were meant to merge, they were meant to compliment each other to form the perfect leader and maybe that was what would help him, working together with her. Sitting down next to her twin she wrapped an arm around him and pulled him in, “You are not broken, a little battered maybe but not broken. You’re stronger than whatever twisted bits of Kai that got in.” She assures him, “Do you want to hurt me? Me?” She asks firmly wondering what his true answer was, she knew no matter what deep down her brother could never just like she couldn’t harm him. “Even with whatever dark parts of Kai that got in, you’re a hundred times the human being he was. You care about people Luke, the fact that you’re wrapped up in guilt over that proves it to me and it should prove it to you. Kai didn’t give a crap about who he hurt.”

Liv laughs outload at the wolf's words before covering her mouth with one of her hands, "I'm sorry, its almost like you're not talking to someone whose older brother murdered most of their family, get sent to a magical prison, broke out of said prison and then murder some more people." She raises a brow and tilts her head at him with an amused smirk on her face. "Who is dangerous in your life again? The former vampires? Or the travelers that my coven has been at odds with since the dawn of time? Come on Tyler, I think we can both agree we're damaged goods that just fit together. If you want out of this, at least be up front as to why or just don't give a reason at all and don't give me some self sacrificing bullshit. I'm a big girl and can handle it."
