Ben and Sam as each other’s funhouse mirror…Ben who presents himself comedically and is viewed as a chaotic person when he is mostly still, Sam who presents himself as a serious person but thrives on chaos. Ben who by his own admission loves to stay in his house and Sam who cannot stay still, always travelling. they identify as so similar! they have the same taste in cocktails! both sat not emoting. you get it etc etc

I feel like there's something so interesting about how Ben is so close to Sam in age and how much it feels like they're at totally different stages in life. There's only a year's difference between them but Ben still started out as Sam's intern. There's only a year's difference between them but Sam didn't know who KIRBY was and Ben is a hedonistic gamer figure. And I do think it's so fun how in their bizarre unexpected similarities they manage to make up for what the other person is expected to be like, but isn't . You'd think of Sam as being the least talkative, but the person that talks the least on the podcast, or outside of the literal show, is Ben. You'd think of Ben being shameless and silly, but Sam really will do just about anything, shame and all (does anyone think about him eating a leaf or is it just me).
