 Associated with surrealism André Masson made several pieces of automatic work using pen and ink. André also experimented using altered states of consciousness to create piece of art. With the idea of automatic drawings which, you can associate with Sigmund. instead of using the conscious part of your mind to create the drawing, you will dive into the subconscious part of the mind and use that part of the mind to create the drawing.

Freud believe that childhood events has a great influence on out adult lives. Which shapes our personality. For example, anxiety could come from a traumatic experience from a person’s past which is hidden from consciousness, which could lead to that person having problems during adulthood.

In Western society we still use words which Sigmund introduced through his theories. Words such as Anal (Personality) libido, denial, repression, cathartic, Freudian slip, and neurotic.]

I feel that a lot of Sigmund's theory are biased in the in the sense of them being very one sided and unfair with now real proof on the matter at hand.

Ego, Superego, Id

Sigmund create and developed the psychoanalytic theory for personal development. This theory argued that personality is formed among three structures of the human mind. He called these structures of the mind. Ego, Superego and ID I will go in to more detail about these later.

The id, - part of the mind the work on pleasure. has a very animistic present to it.

The ego - part of the mind that control what you feel see and act. Reality principle.

The Superego - Makes us want to do things because of social measures.

Brief re-write

Birmingham design festival.

It;s an annual event bases throughout the city of Birmingham.

2019 is the second year of the festival, with a successful first year with industry's and top professionals join the festival to deliver talks , workshop and exhibitions across 30 venues over 4 packed days

The Birmingham design festival this year is over 3-day (7th-9th) BDF2019 60 designers will be presenting talks. talking about their thoughts on the industry to 300 guests from around the country and world.

Pack with events, from scheduled talks happening every hour in 3 location satellite workshop, exhibitions and screening. As the attendee and screening as the attendee it;s difficult to keep track of where and when everything is on, what you have booked for and what you might be missing out on.

Create a visual design for a mobile app. Think about user experience and how the attendee will interact with the festival before, during and after.

what information will need to be present in the app?And what feature that are only present on a mobile device could you take advantage of to make sure the experience is an enjoyable one?

Using the supplied visual identity and assets, the app should be on brand and showcase the range of events the festival has to offer, with the ability to book tickets, and a user account area for storing purchases and Print at home tickets.

You won’t be required to produce every single page, but you should produce information architecture to show user flow and content direction.

Evaluation Festival Project.

 During the time on this project we had to design a festival a fully brand it. I decided to create a festival revolving around BMXing and the Rave scene. I wanted it to be a place where people who are fed up of being kicked out of street areas by security. The festival is called Unwanted Underground located in an abandoned Tube station called Aldwych Tube station located in London.

The reason why I called the festival Unwanted Underground was because it’s where the unwanted people of society can go to BMX, skate or Rave and have fun without the worry of getting kicked out getting in the trouble for doing something they love doing. The festival is targeted around people aged 18 to 25, male or female it will be focusing on people who love BMX with a passion and rave culture.

To start my creative process, I looked at what I would like in a festival of my own and did some competitive research to see how other festival compared I also looked at who these festivals expressed themselves as a brand compared to other festivals. I looked at festival like Nass Fest and Swamp Fest which share somewhat of the same demographic, using Drum and bass with house music for entertainments.  

When it came down the creating the logo for the festival, I wanted it to include the surrounding environment, it would be and logo of two parts one being a BMX bike and the other being the Train going through a tunnel.  This led me to create an endless number of scamps. These scamps involved using parts of the BMX bike and objects you can find in London. I just experimented with every combination I could until I found on the worked perfectly because I worked well with the same as well. This would be the logo I would use on the short-animated sting.

After I found the logo that I like I moved it to illustrator this is because illustrator is vector based which makes it easier to move around the part of the logo without Pixelization. When the logo was created in illustrator I changed the colour of the logo and started to create variations of the logo changing the size of parts and changing the position of the logo flipping it. I changed the logo quite a few times until I found the logo that I liked the most and used that one. I added a few things to the logo that only BMXer would know 4130 which is the steel they use to create BMX bikes.

In the end I used a few editing programs like Illustrator, After effects and Photoshop I using Illustrator to create and edit all of the logos variations I used after effects to create the animated sting involving the dates of the festival I used photoshop to create the poster for the festival and used it to create all of the wearables for the logo.  

How I created the short-animated sting was to use after effects I first drew out all the compositions on a story board I drew out how the logo would slide on and off the the screen. I then applied this to the animation using keyframes to let the text and logo move on screen. I used photoshop to make the poster and the wearables. I found texture from using a marker and scanned the markings into the computer this helped me create some texture when for the poster. For the title of the poster I used league gothic font. I used this font because I believe to make the name of the festival standout better it gives the poster that urban look. I used Maiandra GD for the headliners and Open Sans for dates and important information. I choose to use these programs because they are programs I have experience on and are programs that are very adaptable, and you can integrate a lot of texture in to these programs.

Overall I am very happy with the outcome of the festival brief what I like the out of all I have created in the logo I believe that the logo suited the style of my festival and I’m happy with the out of the trying the bring two elements of the logo together. I believe that the train and the BMX bike work perfectly well together in the logo. I am also happy with the out of the festival listing poster I believe that the logo visible through it and the colours of the logo work perfectly well with the bold black logo.

If there was one thing I would change now would  be the animated sting I believe I could have been more inventive with the outcome of it I could problem make parts of the animation move smoother and the composition of the text. I would also bring more elements of social media in to advertise the festival better

In the end I am happy with the outcome of the festival brief and would only change a few things that I have listed.

This is the animated sting ive created using after effects. This sting is going to advertise the festival on platforms like Instagram the size of the animation is 640x640 this is the perfect size for an Instagram video

These are all of the logo that i have created. i decided i needed to refine the logo to make vector but i still wanted the bring elements  of the BMX bike and train train together. in the end i believe that i have achieved this and the logo doesn't look too bad. i created 3 variation of the logo so the logo can be used on more projects. out of all the logo here the third one would be my favourite.
