One of the best design blogs around, FormFiftyFive, recently had a fantastic make over. Very much in keeping with other recently updated blogs, the site is kept simple and now has a focus on larger posts. Overall the site now feels like a real throne for the beautiful work it features.

I'm not completely sure I like this building however the facade has an intriguing quality to it that reminds me of textile patterns, such as those from Nya Nordiska

MB Joule by Moving Brands.
"The MB Joule is a papercraft electronic ornament that combines design, digital manufacturing, code, and hand assembly."
"The physical joules were constructed from laser-cut card, screen-printed conductive ink, batteries, and tiny LEDs. When a joule is folded into its 3-dimensional shape, its electric circuit is completed, and the LEDs light up, forming a glowing holiday ornament."

A man who is and will be an inspiration for generations of young architects, for years to come and a truly prolific and influential architect who helped shape the path of Brazil's future.
My most loved architect, a man who followed the western corbusian principles of design but added his own sense of South American flair and excitement that showed me personally there is scope for expressionism and originality in an art-form that is often overshadowed by bland stuffed shirt design.
Words do not do justice in depicting his worth in history so please find your nearest copy of 'Curves of Irreverence' and wonder in the images inside, they will show you everything you need to know.

With the take over of ING by Capital One, the new parent company have decided to rebrand ING as Capital One 360 and remove their famous lion logo. One of the consequences of this move (other than the new logo looking horrible) is that it will surely mean the end of these great TV ads. Really great little adverts with beautiful puppets. Shame!
The making of video of the 'fable' adverts is also worth a watch if you've got the time.

anyone who has shared a studio with me will know I love to produce most of my work on the back of napkins instead of in my sketchbook.
After finding the results for the Architectural Record's Napkin Sketch 2012 I am gutted I missed the submission, never mind next year maybe.
