Hi everyone, I wanted to share some promising developments about a nasal COVID-19 vaccine:
Tumblr media
"THIS IS HUGE! Researchers have developed a nasal COVID-19 vaccine that BLOCKS transmission of the virus. This suggests vaccines delivered directly to the nose or mouth could play a CRITICAL role in containing the spread of respiratory infections. Phase I clinical trials HAVE BEEN APPROVED!"

At that press conference held by Trump and Musk yesterday (02/11/25), most of the speaking came from Musk with some from Trump since the discussion was on DOGE. Though some very interesting comments were made by Musk's son X, to Trump.
"You're not the President, you need to go away" and "I want you to shut your fucking mouth up."
I wonder where a 4 year old got those comments? Most 4 year olds I've met parrot what their parents say. If we are truly looking at a President Musk scenario, the United States needs to think critically.
Yes, we still have Congress and the judiciary, but we have already seen how they are trying to sow doubt towards both and prop up Executive power. While we know Donald Trump has the power keep playing to his faults and weaknesses. Make the President Musk jokes, print things like Time Magazine.
GET UNDER HIS SKIN AND FUCK UP THIS SITUATIONSHIP BEFORE THE WHOLE USA SUFFERS.

Here it is. Trump signed an executive order stating that the only individuals who should have opinions on the Rule of Law are himself, as President and the Attorney General.
This is an Authoritarian power grab.
This goes against the Constitution.
MAKE SURE EVERYONE SEES THIS! WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO BECOME LAW!

Americans, did you know there were mass protests all across the country over Super Bowl weekend?
Coast-to-coast, from DC...
Tumblr media
... to Portland
Tumblr media
... from blue states
Tumblr media
... to red states
Tumblr media
And nary but *crickets* from the national media. The revolution is NOT being televised, it is being suppressed.
Just remember, you are NOT alone. People ARE doing things. You will meet those people when YOU start doing things.
But we cannot rely on the courts alone. Trump is already defying numerous restraining orders, and the Executive branch controls the enforcement arm of federal law (U.S. Marshals Service).
When Trump inevitably refuses to comply with the courts and directs the DOJ/U.S. Marshals to stand down, effectively neutering the Judicial branch of the government, it will signal THE END OF U.S. DEMOCRACY.
Our only recourse will be to take to the streets. WE THE PEOPLE, need to demand rule of law by asserting our First Amendment right to assemble while we still have it.
Rise up against tyranny/oligarchy/white supremacy/you-name-it
JOIN THE REVOLUTION! National Day of Protest Presidents' Day | February 17, 2025

And pledge to join the General Strike.

THIS WAS ON A FRIEND’S PAGE: An anguished question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’
THE SERIOUS ANSWER: Here’s what the majority of anti-Trump voters honestly feel about Trump supporters en masse:
That when you saw a man who had owned a fraudulent University, intent on scamming poor people, you thought "Fine."
That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, "Okay."
That when you heard him proudly brag about his own history of sexual abuse, you said, "No problem."
That when he made up stories about seeing Muslim-Americans in the thousands cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center, you said, "Not an issue."
That when you saw him brag that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and you wouldn't care, you exclaimed, "He sure knows me."
That when you heard him relating a story of an elderly guest of his country club, an 80-year old man, who fell off a stage and hit his head, to Trump replied: “‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away. I couldn’t—you know, he was right in front of me, and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him. He was bleeding all over the place. And I felt terrible, because it was a beautiful white marble floor, and now it had changed color. Became very red.” You said, "That's cool!"
That when you saw him mock the disabled, you thought it was the funniest thing you ever saw.
That when you heard him brag that he doesn't read books, you said, "Well, who has time?"
That when the Central Park Five were compensated as innocent men convicted of a crime they didn't commit, and he angrily said that they should still be in prison, you said, "That makes sense."
That when you heard him tell his supporters to beat up protesters and that he would hire attorneys, you thought, "Yes!"
That when you heard him tell one rally to confiscate a man's coat before throwing him out into the freezing cold, you said, "What a great guy!"
That you have watched the parade of neo-Nazis and white supremacists with whom he curries favor, while refusing to condemn outright Nazis, and you have said, "Thumbs up!"
That you hear him unable to talk to foreign dignitaries without insulting their countries and demanding that they praise his electoral win, you said, "That's the way I want my President to be."
That you have watched him remove expertise from all layers of government in favor of people who make money off of eliminating protections in the industries they're supposed to be regulating and you have said, "What a genius!"
That you have heard him continue to profit from his businesses, in part by leveraging his position as President, to the point of overcharging the Secret Service for space in the properties he owns, and you have said, "That's smart!"
That you have heard him say that it was difficult to help Puerto Rico because it was in the middle of water and you have said, "That makes sense."
That you have seen him start fights with every country from Canada to New Zealand while praising Russia and quote, "falling in love" with the dictator of North Korea, and you have said, "That's statesmanship!"
That Trump separated children from their families and put them in cages, managed to lose track of 1500 kids, has opened a tent city incarceration camp in the desert in Texas - he explains that they’re just “animals” - and you say, “Well, OK then.”
That you have witnessed all the thousand and one other manifestations of corruption and low moral character and outright animalistic rudeness and contempt for you, the working American voter, and you still show up grinning and wearing your MAGA hats and threatening to beat up anybody who says otherwise.
What you don't get, Trump supporters, is that our succumbing to frustration and shaking our heads, thinking of you as stupid, may very well be wrong and unhelpful, but it's also...hear me...charitable.
Because if you're NOT stupid, we must turn to other explanations, and most of them are less flattering.

Congress came very close on Wednesday to putting billionaire Elon Musk in the hot seat over his ongoing attempts to effectively take control of the U.S. government by infiltrating every federal agency. But the effort failed in a 19-20 decision.
The U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a vote to subpoena Musk, put forward by ranking member Rep. Gerry Connolly, a Democrat from Virginia. Republican Rep. James Comer, the chairman of the committee and longtime ally of President Donald Trump, tried various tactics to hamper the motion, including by insisting it wasn’t debatable.
“Mr. Chairman, why don’t we want to debate Elon Musk coming in and talking to us about his work and how he has enriched himself for $64 billion?” one Democrat asked.

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander has accused Elon Musk of “highway robbery” after $80 million approved by Congress “vanished” from the city’s bank account.
The Trump administration “clawed back” the $80 million that the Federal Emergency Management Agency paid to New York City last week to help house migrants, federal officials confirmed.
“Today ... my @NYCComptroller office discovered that $80 MILLION in already authorized, allocated, and paid federal aid was WIPED from the City's bank account,” Lander said Wednesday in a post on X.
“Let's be crystal clear: This is highway robbery. Elon Musk, with no legal authority, illegally seized federal funds from New Yorkers,” Lander added. He said the money was supposed to reimburse the city for costs it had already incurred and had invoiced to the federal government.
The rescinded funds raise legality issues facing funding freezes and take-backs by Elon Musk and the Trump administration often in the wake of legally executed congressional appropriations and documents laying out payments and even funds for work already provided and costs incurred.
Lander, who is running for New York City mayor, also hit out at current Mayor Eric Adams for not “fighting back.” The federal Department of Justice moved to drop a corruption cast against Adams Monday soon after he was seen socializing with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
Some legal experts said that the federal government was bound to honor binding contracts, and suggested that the reclamation of the $80 million could be illegal if the city’s reimbursement agreement with FEMA did not authorize a clawback.
“In addition, this appears to be an attempt to impound appropriated funds without following the procedures set out in the Impoundment Control Act,” said David A. Super, a professor of administrative law at Georgetown University. “That would make it illegal substantively.”

Pitching Leverage to a socialist friend: "The heist team gets hired by people who have been victimized by these corporate baddies, so there is always a scene at the beginning where some lady is telling the team 'my dad died because he couldn't afford his diabetes medication after the new factory owner Joshua Dirtbag the Third cut his hours' and the team is like 'say no more. we will put on elaborate disguises and convince him to bet on a fake racehorse, and somehow at the end of it you will have all his money and he will go to jail'."

leverage is such a comfort show for me because who doesn’t want to watch a group of highly competent people fall in love with each other, romantically or otherwise, while they succeed at righting so many of the wrongs in the world. the cruel and corrupt lose and lose again and compared to the way the world seems to be going this show makes me feel reassured that i’m not going crazy
