Camping Trip Event || Tramping
You’re stuck on what to do? Probably doesn’t help that you’re at least two feet taller than the residents of the Kingdom, huh? But I can help you out with that.
[ All muses in the area/taking part in the event have shrunk to about three feet tall, with wings of course! Feel free to take creative liberty with the design of your character’s wings ]
Now you’ll stick out just a little less.
Exploration
Of course, this is the most obvious choice.This Kingdom is quite possibly nothing like you’ve ever seen before. It would be a waste not to reap this experience for all that it’s worth!
All areas of the Kingdom are open to students to explore - except, of course, the houses of the Pakepakeha themselves.
Palace
There’s the palace, carved into the tallest Kauri tree in the forest ( and possibly, the world ). It is a formidable “building”, protected by a faintly pink bubble of magic and guarded constantly by strong Pakepakeha. It is in here that you will find the Queen, relaxing upon her throne and crafting discussions with the people.
If you have any questions about where you can go, what’s coming up, or if you just want to find out more about the Kingdom - you’re welcome to have a conversation with the Queen herself! Just send a question here and you’re good to go!
Library
The library is quite close to the palace, perched across multiple tree branches. The only way to move between each building is to fly - so hopefully you’ve got the hang of it by now! This library is home to hundreds upon hundreds of books, most of which are in a language that is not our own. But fret not, for you’re sure to find plenty of books in English.
There’s books on every single topic you could possibly imagine - from the cultural habits of each dragon type to the healing properties of shredded toadstool.
Field of Flowers
Laying beneath the palace and the library is a seemingly never-ending field of flowers. These, of course, are not your ordinary flowers. They appear to be in a constant bloom, standing bright with shifting colours and a powerful fragrance. If you choose to pick one of these flowers, however, the changing colours will stop and the flower will forever be the colour it was when it was picked.
Be careful that you do not get lost! Many visitors, and even a few Pakepakeha themselves, have gotten lost amongst the flower - as their potent perfume has been known to disorientate and confuse.
[ Note: Please follow @queen-pakepakeha. And also, don’t feel as if you’re restricted to these three areas - you’re welcome to take creative liberty with whatever you do! ]

Camping Trip Event || Tramping
Hey, so like, there’s an ancient magical kingdom up in the woods.
Which, if you pay any attention in my damn lectures you’d probably know about already. But seeing as you’re all blank-faced let me explain.
Lore
Very few know when this Kingdom came into existence - rumors stretch anywhere from a couple thousand years ago back to the very beginning of our planet. There is only one person who knows for sure, the Queen, and she’s not coughing up any answers.
Most people believe that the Kingdom was created from what we’d probably call the ‘refugees’ of the magical world, a mish-mash of different species that couldn’t fit in anywhere else, banding together to create a community where they would be able to thrive.
However, the officially documented history of the Kingdom only begins at the tide of the War - y’know, the one your Headmistress and like...I fought in. Hoards of faeries, pakepakeha, and even your occasional te-tini-o-hakuturi, defended our cause and our rights; creating the world that you lot are lucky to be living in today.
About the Folk
As much as they would prefer to be called “Pakepakeha” they probably won’t slit your throats if you call them “Faeries”.
Standing at a modest stature of about two to three feet, with an incredibly slight figure to match, they don’t exactly stand out. It most certainly does not help that their skin is very much camouflaged, ranging from the faintest hues of pale green to the richest shades of golden brown. Each pakepakeha is different, but it should be noted that the majority of them tend to take on a rather pale complexion, similar to that of bone.
Their wing-span isn’t particularly large either, appearing to be similar to that of your common butterfly - although each wing is unique. The pakepakeha pride themselves in their wings. Even though they may be gorgeous do not touch their wings. They will not enjoy that.
About the Queen
The Queen of the Pakepakeha is a mysterious woman, who definitely stands out in a crowd.
No one really knows anything about her, other than the fact that she’s not from any race that we’ve seen before. Even I’ve never come across someone or just something that looks anything like her.
In comparison to the majority of her subjects, the Queen is massive, towering over even humans at a height of seven feet tall. Everything about her is exaggerated and regal - from her hugely pointed cheekbones, knee-length hair swathed in perpetually blooming flowers, to her ginormous wings which measure up to about the same length as her height.

Oh motherfu-
Where did Hulda go!? She’s the one who knows where we’re going on this bloody tramp, she’s the...the magic-y one. Why am I even here!? I’m the Vice Principal not some kind of teacher-
-
Perhaps we should follow the lights? At this point in time there’s not really anywhere else to go.
...I’m sure it’ll all be fine though! Ah, don’t worry! I’m sure Hulda will pop up soon and everything will work itself out in the end.
Were you among the eager few to join in on the tramp? Worry not! Hulda is quite eager to include all students in this little adventure, easily teleporting students from their tents into the middle of what seems to be nowhere.
There will be another post with details coming up soon!

Camping Field Trip
Have you packed up all your stuff, put on your sturdiest boots and are carrying enough water to sustain an entire village?
It is my deepest regret to inform you that today is the day we leave the comforts of our civilized society, wireless internet, and flushing toilets.
I swear this isn’t in my damn job description.

Accepted Vietnam!
Hey there, thank you for sending in your application.
We just wanted to let you know that we’ve received it and we’re happy to let you know that you’ve gotten in! We can’t wait to have you here!
OOC;
helo……….. is me… zIp
IC;
Character: Vietnam Full Name / Preferred Name: Lien Ti Nguyen Age: 18 Birthday: April 30th Gender: cis female Pronouns: she/her Housing: Kākāriki Hall; shared Pets: she doesn’t have any
IC - In Depth;
Magical Branches: Dark Arts
Ahurei (Unique Ability): Luring- Something about Lien just makes everyone trust her, whether it’s her genuine smile, her big-sister-like personality, or her simple and polite tone, no one knows. This also makes the people around her more prone to telling others’ secrets, or their own, because surely it’s safe with such a kind, sage person? Really, though, it just has to do with her disposition.
Major/s: Political Science Minor/s: International Policy and Journalism Type of Degree: Bachelors Clubs: Shrek Appreciation, Debating, Basketball
Appearance:
Lien stands at an impressive 5’10’’, which along with her naturally lanky body type, give her the appearance of being slightly stretched out. Due to years work in the sun, she’s developed a lot of freckles on her face, shoulders, and arms, in a range of shades and sizes which she thinks is ugly when put on top of her already tanned skin.
Her hair is dark and thick, and so long that she hardly has time to care for it, instead pulling it back behind her every day in the same low ponytail. Overall, she doesn’t put as much effort into her appearance as most other people, but that’s not to say she doesn’t enjoy fashion or make-up - it’s just too much of a hassle.
( a fc i use for her is Nguyen Thùy Lâm, if that helps! )
Headcanons:
Enjoys dancing a lot, and is rather good at it! She’s part of a traditional dance team back home, but loves trying more contemporary things as well.
Cooks way too much, and too often, for her budget.
Has a pair of thick, obnoxiously nerdy glasses that she’s supposed to use for reading to avoid headaches. She never uses them.
Lien has a tendency to think faster than she speaks, or writes, and will often change conversation topics suddenly or ask “so are you agreeing or disagreeing?” without mentioning what you’re agreeing to.
Personality:
Lien’s personality is one that employers beg for in their workers. She’s a diligent worker, respectful yet brutally honest when called for, and is entirely confident in her skills. How she acts around employers is very different from how she acts around her peers, however. On campus she’s still respectful to all, coming across as a big sister mentor to underclassmen and always eager to listen to upperclassmen advice. As a naturally protective person, however, if she hears that someone went after someone she cares for she’ll retaliate without hesitation, and brutally.
Aside from that, however, Lien is also a very understanding person, despite her cool exterior. She’s a good listener, and notorious for giving out advice. This, along with a simple sense of humor and a knowing smile, tends to make her a good subject for venting to.
Strengths:
Observant: While she isn’t as book smart as others, Lien has the enviable ability to notice connections between people and events. It gives her good gossip, and makes her amazing at knowing how to act when sucking up to professors.
Level-headed: Lien thinks before she leaps, so to say, and is good in both a crisis and day to day life.
Trustful: Lien can keep a secret, and her advice always seems to work, which is good, because something about her just makes people want to open up.
Weaknesses:
Secretive: It’s not that Lien has secrets, that would be ridiculous- she just tends to keep things close to her chest, and hesitates before making close connections with other people.
Awkward: She has a tendency to be a bit difficult when it comes to social interactions, and when she doesn’t know how exactly to act when faced with a person, she freezes.
Workaholic: Lien has a huge tendency to place too much of her value in the value of work she does. She hates feeling lazy, and taking breaks makes her feel nothing but anxiety.
Backstory:
Lien was from a rural town, enclosed near the coast of Vietnam. It was a tightly knit community, with few people moving in and even fewer people moving out. The only real connection they had to the outside world was trade; men and women came from across the country to collect the herbs grown locally, turning them into spices or potpourri. Oftentimes, the traders were met with open arms- freshly cooked meals were served, sleeping arrangements were made, and the villagers made kind conversation about everything from politics to bazaars. But when one trader came into town, it was… different, for some reason. Doors shut, blinds were drawn, and sage was burned afterward to ward off ma doi. Lien doesn’t know much about this local legend, because people go mum about it when she’s near, but people say that you can never really tell what he looks like beneath his hat. People say that looking in his eyes makes people throw themselves off cliffs, or throw themselves to him.
However true this may be, three things are certain. The first being that only one person attempted to give the man shelter, a kindhearted villager who was barely even out of school at age nineteen. The second, that the man hasn’t shown in town since Lien was born. The third, that the girl who gave the man shelter was Lien’s mother, who hasn’t left her home since Lien turned three. No one in the village even pretends to believe that these facts aren’t related.
It is very easy to, however, when you have the gentle face of a ten year old begging you for work. Something about her warm brown eyes, or her wry smile, or her pitiable state, gave everyone the urge to take the waif in. Lien found work as a cleaner in a hotel, as a farmhand, as a chef, and in her older years settles down as a clerk. She had a fast mind, able to convert foreign currencies and remember exactly what country wouldn’t trade with who and which tariffs were in effect at all times, with an almost supernatural ability. With her skills, she soon began to seek out bigger and better things, and before she could blink she had gotten her mother’s blessing to board at a cheap French school in Quy Nhơn, forging enough to get her moved into a higher class. With her affinity for charming her teachers and, of course, her natural abilities, she graduated without a hitch. Setting off to a college which ingrained the world she had grown up in with one full of magic and adventure, one that her mother begged Lien to go to for some unknown reason, seems like a good way to learn about other cultures. Surely the fact that she has no magical ability whatsoever won’t be an issue, right?

Camping Field Trip
The lush serenity of the billowing trees beckon outward, inviting people into the mysterious forest with a slight tingle of intrigue. Little is known about this outdoor world, little is known but mystery.
Hello, hello! It’s your headmaster here!
It’s time for our first big event of the year! The camping field trip will kick off on the 20th of March and wind-up on the 3rd of April.
What does this trip entail? Let me explain!
Camping
Yes, I can tell that your shocked by this! The camping field trip does involve camping. But, if you are someone who cannot normally camp - do not despair!
The forest floor in which the camp will be set out is unusually flat this year, a phenomenon that Hulda swears she knows nothing about. The trek itself is not particularly arduous either, which is also quite different from last year ( let’s be real, we all know that Hulda messed with the track because she didn’t want to miss out - but don’t tell her I told you that ).
Magical Creature Spotting
Our native forest is filled with all sorts of wonders, home to both “normal” creatures and magical creatures and if you’re not from New Zealand - you’re sure to see plenty of creatures you’ve never even heard of!
We’re almost certain to see a few Nuku-mai-tore out here and perhaps even some Pakepakeha ( x x ).
Tramping
On the 27th of March, those who are able are invited to tramp up the mountain - the side that isn’t host to our Commerce and Law Campus, that is. The climb may be a little rocky, so make sure to watch your step and pack plenty of water.
Walking alongside our very own Dr. Hui and Ms. Vita, something...interesting is bound to happen.

Accepted Taiwan!
Yo, yo, yo, yo, YO! Thanks for joinin’, you’re gonna love it here, okay!? Everyone’s real friendly except Hulda and Edrik!

Pack your bags ‘cause there’s a room here with your name on it!
IC;
Character: Taiwan Full Name / Preferred Name: Mei Zhen Li Age: 18 Birthday: October 25th Gender: Female Pronouns: she/her Housing: Kākāriki Hall, rooming with Lien Pets: none
IC - In Depth;
Magical Branches: Light
Ahurei (Unique Ability): Basic telekenisis - the ability to move objects with your mind. She can lift things up to the size of a textbook. Anything bigger she’ll have difficulties with. Currently she can control up to ten objects at a time.
Major/s: Early Childhood Education Minor/s: n/a Type of Degree: Bachelors Clubs: anime and manga club, magical creatures, yoga
Appearance:
Mei is a petite young woman, standing at only four foot eleven inches. She has long brown hair that reaches her waist and brown eyes to match. She has overall Asian features, probably due to the fact that she’s Asian. Big surprise. Her skin is rather pale. She’s fit and very flexible from years of doing yoga. There’s a flower shaped tattoo on her left leg.
Generally, Mei is rather fashionable and puts quite a bit of effort into her appearance. Her clothes are usually brightly colored, and she leans towards bright pinks and yellows. At times she does her hair, usually settling for a simple braid or a pony tail, and keeps her makeup light.
Headcanons:
Mei loves cute things! She probably has a huge collection of trinkets that take up way too much space.
She uses her magic all the time for the simplest things.
She loves cats, but is highly allergic to them, so suffers anyway every time she sees one.
She’s way more into anime than she’s willing to admit.
Personality:
A happy-go-lucky sort of gal, Mei is generally a cheery person. She almost always has a smile on her face, and her bubbly personality can be rather infectious. Either that, or it’s a bit overwhelming. Being the social butterfly that she is, she’s quick to approach new people and try to make friends. Once she’s made a friend, she is very affectionate, loving to give hugs and play with people’s hair and other such things. She’s also very empathetic and emotional. She connects deeply with people and easily understands their feelings.
But as happy as she is, she also has a quick temper. Give her good reason to be upset with you and she’ll hold a grudge for a very long time, perhaps forever, if she’s really mad. If you’re a friend, though, she’s quick to forgive and forget. When it comes to her studies, Mei prefers to give herself time to relax and live a little. Of course, she focuses on her classes as well, but she doesn’t have the best study habits and is a terrible procrastinator.
Strengths:
Social, quick to make friends
Empathetic
Pretty clever when she wants to be
Extreme Anime Knowledge
Weaknesses:
Pretty girls
Cats
Holds grudges too long sometimes
Somehow despite having light magic she’s afraid of the dark
Backstory:
Born the youngest in a large family in Taiwan, Mei showed signs of magic right away. Not everyone in her family had magic, but a few did, and she was one of them. Growing up she was rather curious, and loved to test out her newly discovered powers, often using them to her own advantage to get things off of high shelves she wasn’t supposed to reach. A rough and tumble child in her youth, it was clear to her family that she’d be able to develop her powers well.
As Mei grew up, her powers only grew with more and more practice. By her teens, she was able to lift and control up to five small objects at a time. And she certainly wasn’t afraid to take advantage of her powers, either. Life can be quite easy when you basically have five extra hands to work with. But, being the gungho type of gal she is, Mei didn’t want to get weaker physically just because she was strong mentally. So, not liking most other sports, she started doing yoga, and it turned out to be something she was really good at it. Nowadays, she still does yoga, and is incredibly flexible.
Mei graduated highschool with rather good grades; not too bad, but not genius level, either. While she did love school, she was always much more interested in strengthening her powers and engaging in her hobbies. But, her parents wanted her to go to college. And seeing it as an opportunity to get out of the house and make new friends, Mei was more than happy to agree. So when she was accepted into TWR, needless to say, everyone was thrilled. Now a new student, she’s excited to start learning more, get stronger, learn new magic, and of course, meet her new roommate.
