Wellness Journey (Week 5)
7/20/25 (Sun):
Slept from 11pm - 5am (woke to take med), went back to sleep and got up at 8am to read for about an hour
Broke fast at 9am with coffee (6 tbsp of creamer = 180 cal)
Ate 3 melona bars back to back, had ramen with boiled egg and rice. Felt so sluggish afterwards.
Finished my book. SOOO disappointed with where it went.
Total steps: 6.2k (according to phone). Probably 7k+.
7/21/25 (Mon):
Slept from 12a-9a; good sleep no crazy dreams
Broke fast at 10:30a with coffee (6 tbsp)
Ate a giant portabella steak cheese sub from Jersey Mikes (YUM)
Day 9 of HIIT
Started a new book!
Total steps: 2k (1.3k according to phone)
7/22/25 (Tue):
Slept from 11p-5a (took med) got up at 8am. Can't remember dreams.
Broke fast at 10am with coffee (6 tbsp creamer)

Wellness Journey (Week 4)
WEEK FOUR
7/13/25 (Sun):
Fell asleep at 4am. Had bad sleep. Kept waking up. Took my AM meds around 8 when I happened to wake up. Finally got up at 11am, but was extremely tired. Drank coffee shortly after waking.
6:20pm update: ran errands with my mom. Took her to costco since she had a certificate. Then stopped by another grocery store to get myself and my fiance some things. It was sooo hot. Mid 80s, but it felt like I was melting lol
I ordered a pedometer just to track my steps better when I don't have my phone on me. It was a cheap $15 one since I did not feel like buying a tech one with subscriptions, yada yada on it. Just something that works to help me keep track of steps better.
According to my phone I had: 3.1k steps today
7/12/25 (Mon):
DAY 7 of HIIT
Slept from 12am-9am; had decent sleep and interesting dreams.
Took AM meds a little bit before 9.
2pm update: cleaning apartment gave me 2.7k steps according to the pedometer. My phone was definitely an inaccurate interpretation of my step count lol
4pm: at ~3.3k steps. Really surprised by it lol I can feel myself fatiguing though. On a scale from 0-10, 10 being very awake and alert, I think I'm at a 5 or 6.
6pm: did HIIT. Felt sooooooo tired >-< might be because I didn't eat much today, or I didn't give myself enough rest time, or I didn't stretch lol. But, we did total body HIIT. I had to stop around the 13 mark because my quads were so tight and felt like they would rip. Couldn't do the burpees for the whole minute, but I did my best. It was overall okay.
8pm: drank coffee today, ate a salad, and then ate a pasta salad with 2 boiled eggs. YUM.
My final step count for the day: around 4k (couldn't keep pedometer on since it tracks when I'm driving LOL but I last left it at 3.5k steps at 4pm, and it's been 4 hours since. It's definitely low balling, but I had about ~4-5k steps today.
7/15/25 (Tue):
Slept around 1am. Woke up at 3am due to a nightmare. Took am meds around 5:30am. Went back to bed and got up around 10am.
Went for a walk with fiance at 12. Did ~3.1k steps.
Pedometer unfortunately tracks car rides, so I have to reset it each time. I'm pretty sure I'm hovering around 5k steps as of 5pm, if not by the end of the day.
5pm: DAY 5 of Weightlifting with the fiance. Here is the exercise breakdown:
>Shoulder Press: 15 lbs x 10, 15 lbs x 8, 15 lbs x 6
>RDLs: 35 lbs x 7, 40 lbs x 5, 40 lbs x 5 (Towards the end my forearm grip was tough to handle)
>Bicep curls: 20 lb x 5, 15 lb x 8, 15 lbs x 9 (15 lb was too light and 20 was too heavy)
>Tricep skull crushers: 20 lbs x 10, 25 lbs x 6, 30 lbs x 4 (form was not great at the 30 lbs)
>Shrugs: 20 lbs x 8, 25 lbs x 8, 30 lbs x 5 (felt good)
Did ~ 1.7k steps in the gym
Final step count: 5.7k
7/16/25 (Wed):
Skipped HIIT today since I'm still sore from yesterday plus it's HOT as fuck.
Slept from 2am-6:30am (for med). Had crazy intense dream about family drama.
Meals: 8:15am - broke my fast with 8 oz coffee and 5 tablespoons of French Vanilla Creamer. 10am - hungry again, but drank lots of water instead. 2pm - 1 banana, some bites of pasta salad. 5pm - amy's pesto pasta with 1 avocado. 6pm - 1 melona bar (YUM).
Finished book summary on SoA
Step count according to phone: 2.6k, pretty sure it hovers from 3.5k-4k since I didn't have it on me at times. Was not able to wear pedometer as much as I would have liked.
7/17/25 (Thu):
Fell asleep last night fairly quickly. Was exhausted since I went to the beach (got sunburnt) and came home to 86 degree house. yuck.
Slept from 10pm-6am; woke up briefly at 5am to take med.
Again, had weird vivid dream lol this time it was about my sister's drinking
Did my weekly weigh-in. I'm down 4 lbs since 2 weeks ago
Broke my fast at 8:20am with coffee (~6 tbsp of creamer today)
9:30am had another 8 oz coffee with 5 tbsp of creamer. So at a total of 330 cals.
11am - 1 honeycrisp apple
4pm - had 12 oz iced caramel macchiato with whole milk from coffee place.
6pm - DAY 8 OF HIIT; focused on lower body + cardio obv.
Thoughts about hiit: pushed myself to go at least until the 13-14 minute mark. Needed a breather. Also felt exhausted already at the start but was trying to hype myself up. Skipped through 3-4 of the exercises since I needed a break to breath. But it felt awesome afterwards with the blood rushing in my ears and cooling down against the floor. I felt like I recovered pretty quick.
7ish - salad with Asian toasted sesame dressing and breaded chicken. YUM.
Book club afterwards, finished 2 chapters :) the kids were grumpy, but they trucked along, proud of them.
Final step count of the day using my phone (hard to wear pedometer when I'm not consistently walking, but getting up, sitting down, pacing, etc): 3.6k; pretty sure its definitely way higher since I didn't have my phone on me. Going to go with at least 4.6k.
7/18/25 (Fri):
Slept from 12am - 6a (woke to take med) went back to bed and got up at 9:45ish. Pretty exhausted and groggy when I woke up the first time but at 9:45 I was feeling better. Again, had vivid dreams but at least time time, they weren't involving actual problems in my life (kind of).
10am: Broke fast with usual coffee and 5 tbsp of creamer (150 cals)
2pm: 9 baby carrots + 1 costco hummus (202 cals total)
Dinner: 1 Crunch Wrap supreme with half an avocado (830 cals)
Actual dinner: amys pesto pasta w/ sriracha (530 cals)
Total cals: 1,182 + 530 = 1,712 cals :)
At-home weightlifting (DAY 6) since my brother cancelled:
RDLs: 15lbs x 10, 15lbs x 10, 15lbs x 10
Bicep curls: 15lbs x 10, 15 x 10, 15 x 10
Shoulder press: 15 x 10, 15 x 10, 15 x 10
Skull crushers: 15 x 11, 15 x 11, 15 x 11
Push up practice lol: 3 x 5 second negative push-ups
Final step count of the day using phone: 900; I was wearing airpods and had my phone on the table most of today! I was walking around doing chores, so this is probably not super accurate
7/19/25 (Sat):
Slept from 11pm-7am. Woke up to take meds. Got up around 9 to walk at the beach with my fiance.
Played pickleball with mom, brother, fiance and mom-in-law :) Was so fun! Played for an hour.
Went home, then showered and went to book store to read my second book for reading club.
Ate 1 meal and had 3 coffees (oops -_-)
Final step count for the day using phone: ~6k. Should be around 7-8k I would say. Took a lot of steps for pickleball.

WEEK ONE:
6/23/25 (Mon):
Day 1 of HIIT
20 minute session, feels like forever!
Brutal. Did total body using apple fitness (shoutout to Bakari).
6/25/25 (Wed):
Pickleball in the afternoon with fianc茅, brother, and sister's bf.
Hyperextended knee :(
6/26/25 (Thu):
1st day of 37 day challenge!

Summer reading challenge started with my family
Thoughts I jotted down:
"Woke up feeling sooooo tired. My mom called me at 8am and woke me up. I feel so fatigued. Like my whole body is in quick sad and I'm forcing myself through it. Had yogurt with granola at 9am to break my fast. Plus coffee. Still have not told anyone I am fasting. It's nice to keep it to myself. 12pm: tired still, but forced myself to go grocery shopping. But it really was not bad at all."
7/1/25 (Tue):
2nd day of weightlifting (PM)
Afternoon pickleball! In the sun....
Bicep curls, triceps, shoulder press, deadlift with dumbbells
Thoughts I jotted down:
"Only got about 4 hours of sleep. Woke up at 1am. I'm exhausted. Hoping I can quickly gall asleep tonight. Met my step goal (smashed it out of the park tbh). "

3rd day of weightlifting (PM)
Thoughts I jotted down:
"Slept for 8-10 hours: woke up pretty sleepy. Napped for about half an hour after eating. Set my fasting period for 9am-9pm. Gymmed before dinner. Had 2 cups of coffee. met my fitness goals."
July 4th weekend I fell off the bandwagon so to speak. Ended up eating snacks (gummy candies, hot cheetos, etc). Felt guilty the entire time.
Thought I wrote down:
"7/4: fell asleep yesterday around 9pm. Woke up at 3am, went back to sleep, and kept waking up. Finally got up at 6am."

4th day of weightlifting (AM)
Thoughts I wrote down:
"Have not slept. Drank coffee at 6:45ish. At the gym, to lift weights. Mostly arms. I did bicep curls, tricep kickback(?), farmer carries, shoulder press, 1 deadlift, and then finished with skull crushers. 9am - yum yum enjoying overnight oats :D Note to self: do more dumbbell RDLs! Dumbbell floor press maybe? Try! Need more chest workouts lol 9:30 - had yummy meatloaf for dinner but I want to snack on cheetos... must.... fast"
7/12/25 (Sat):
Day 6 of HIIT
thoughts I wrote down:
"HIIT with brother and cousin. I actually could go until the 18 min mark but started to feel light headed"
QUICK BREAKDOWN: Total HIIT: 6 Total Weightlifting: 4 Total Pickleball: 4 Total days completed for 37 day challenge: ? unclear since I lost track. At least 5 days! Average step count (according to apple health). ! Sometimes I did walk around /without/ my phone so numbers may be way lower than what they actually were. ! Week 1 (6/22-6/28): 3.3k steps Week 2 (6/29-7/5): 3.9k steps Week 3 (7/6-7/12): 2.1k steps
