Final work
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the final work, I chose to use poster paper for laser printing to present a better effect. In addition, during packaging the files, I found that InDesign cannot use the "Package" command to copy the activated fonts from Adobe Fonts. In design and production, I discovered that legibility is essential, including font selection, size selection, spacing and line spacing, and paragraph layout. In the choice of colours, at first, I decided to use three colours, black, red and beige. This makes the overall picture have no main body and no primary colour. After that, I chose red and beige, but the theme of posters and brochures should be considered. Using red in large areas makes people feel bad.
In the end, I decided to use blue as the main colour. On the one hand, blue is more in line with the theme (for example, it is in line with the illustration I drew, "Handwritten blots-ink dots"). On the other hand, blue is not so glaring visually.
In this semester, I learned more about InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. I also have a preliminary understanding of printing.

The title of the poster needs to use hyphens because it is a word.
I can widen the text field (column)and make the typeface smaller, which makes it easier to read.
Maybe not use red and try other colours.
The portraits of the characters use a single line, and the double lines look chaotic.
The name of the person can also use the typeface of the title.
The text has different paragraphs; change the layout of the section.
A certain amount of space is required for the names of persons and positions.
Change the shape of the cover illustration and refer to the picture of the ink dots.

2.Redesign-poster and brochure
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I changed the typeface of the poster and cover and chose Acier BAT to show the theme. The shape of the illustration in the poster and brochure design represents handwritten handwriting, such as ink marks left by handwriting, pen handwriting, etc.
Changed the details of the map

Formative feedback
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When printing posters and brochures, we will find many problems. Regarding poster-red, black and light beige, these three colours seem to be fighting. The cropped letters do not look easy to recognize. For example, the letter "O" is partially cut, but readers may not think it is the letter "O".
In addition, the character's name should preferably be in one line. Black large letters T should also be considered for modification. Letters can be enlarged, become abstract, etc. Regarding the brochure-the size of the typeface is too large. It is better to use a regular typeface. The red shadows in the photos of people look strange and do not match the overall style.
The typeface size of the text in the table is too small. It's best to keep the characters' names and their professional names close to each other, leaving a specific place for the body text. The black letter "T" on the cover considers connecting with other pages.

3.Add letters that are representative of the artist or designer as an embellishment. Try to adjust the transparency to fit the overall design, the letters can be combined with geometry (in the same style as the poster). Consistent colours, consistent style, overall unity, clean and harmonious, easy to read and rigorous, objective
