Strange and turns out actually quite usual.

Arting so hard my hands start swearing at me in old English. Because middle English happens around 1100ce and this script started in 600ce and became obsolete by the end of the 11th century. Ow. Hahaha..
Once the hands are rested, I'm going to write my limerick again with tidier lettering, more ligatures, and I'll swap the th's for that crossed d version. As a treat.

I volunteered at ECCC this year (free ticket!!) and I made a very last-minute cosplay. The goal was to sew a set of landsknecht wams and hosen which cartoon/musical Beetlejuice might wear in that era. I felt like a teenager, staying up late the night before the event, sewing and scrambling to finish in time. I did not finish, but I'm planning on finishing it for an SCA event coming up. During ECCC, my baselayer hosen shredded under the trunkhose/hotpants. I was so glad they survived till I got to the parking garage. Ooof.
To be completed: chest plate for the wams, better hosen pattern. Hem and line the hotpants. A lot of lacing holes to be sewn. A Georgia O'Keefe venus fly catcher codpiece. Sock hosen. Proper "cows mouth" shoes.
I carved this fanart beetle stamp a few months ago and printed a folding fan as a gift for Alex Brightman. It felt so nice to give it to him, he was just lovely about it. He said that as a Jew, he loves a practical gift. Same, honestly.
It was a great time. Next time I'm gonna have my stuff figured out on advance 🤣
