I planned and taught a two week elective course on how to produce documentaries based on identity and self-reflections. In this course I taught how to build up confidence and the skills it takes to be a journalist. I taught students how to edit films on iMovie, as well as Final Cut Pro. Additionally, they learned how to interview and portray oneself in a professional manner. These are the films that my students produced.

Made With code was an unforgettable event where a very cool team of women at google has spent a great amount of time to create an event that launched Made with Code.
Made with Code’s purpose is to inspire girls to start coding to help end the gender gap that still exists in this field.
Many inspirational and successful women were at the event, that I was more than honored to get a chance to interview.Megan Smith, the vice president of google search lab, opened the speeches. Chelsea Clinton encouraged girls by making them realize that they have our future in their hands, and many others such as  Mindy Kaling, Danel Fineberg from Pixar, Miral Kotb the designer and creator of iLuminate, and Erica Kochi part of the UNICEF program. All these women have been able to create worlds and movements through code.

This was my very first journalism experience. I was more than honored to be able to cover an award ceremony, the Hispanic Heritage Award! I got a chance to meet many important people from the Chief Executive Officer of CVS, to the students that have received the awards. This was the 15th annual  award ceremony that was started  at 1987 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. This award ceremony was created to inspire the youth that they have to be leaders of today and tomorrow!
