cultural posturing elves with superiority complexes are way out, now we’re doing elves who literally cannot stop adopting other species and imparting elvish wisdom on them

because elves have a very low fertility rate to counterbalance their remarkable longevity, to the point that childbearing elves are lucky if they’re able to get pregnant, say, more than twice a century

but some elves just want to Nurture and they’ve noticed that adoption is a pretty sick deal, and that their human neighbors in particular always seem to have a veritable cornucopia of orphans sitting around in need of shelter and food and loving guidance and someone to teach them the finer points of communing with nature. 

elves reaching out to their human neighbors nervously for guidance because their beautiful adopted human son has decided he wants to get married but he’s only 25, he’s only completed one apprenticeship, he’s so young, is that really normal? are they sure? are they sure sure?

a 400 year old elf eagerly introducing her friends to her younger siblings: a 100 year old elf, 55 year old human, 27 year old tiefling, and 12 year old human. 

elf parents spending centuries proudly maintaining large and convoluted family trees where some of their great grand-kids are older than their most recently adopted children. elves highly prizing sprawling systems of family that span species and culture and share everything they can with each other.

Reasons why people write fanfictions

5% just wanna write and have an idea

10% canon did WHAT!? I’m sorry(I’m not) to disagree BUT *write intensely*

15% wanna write something with these characters specifically

70% didn’t find the very specific and precise fanfic they’ve been searching for hours and came to the inevitable conclusion that they have to provide it themself  *mutters* “ fuck ”

Experimenting a little with a Wild Link

I made this long-ish comic about my favorite urban legend. I remember hearing this story on camping trips as a kid and it always stuck with me.

Danny would have done better in college

Danny wouldn’t have had as much stress if he was a college student instead of a high schooler.

Danny stands up and leaves in the middle of class? Eh oh well attendance isn’t mandatory in this class anyway.

Tired from ghost fighting? College is hard man everyone is exhausted.

Carries around a thermos everywhere? Josh from econ doesn’t go anywhere without his Tupperware so a thermos isn’t that big of a deal.

Danny could strait up tell his class that he’s dead and he’d just get a round of “same”.

Someone spots Danny phase through something. “Am I still drunk or did I not get enough sleep?”

Yeah he’s a bit weird but without him you would have failed astronomy so he’s cool in your book.

Walking around during winter without a coat? Yeah Chad, Keven, and Brandon all do that too, at least he’s not wearing shorts.

He may look scrawny but Rebbeca swears up and down he knocked some dude who was being shady out in one hit.

He seems to know a lot about ghosts. Everyone has something they have to distract themselves from schoolwork, his must be the paranormal.

When they went to a haunted house as a group Danny never even flinched. There was one ghost that looked really real but when it saw Danny it just disappeared. Everyone jokes about how Danny is the scariest person on campus.

Danny accedently shows up to a class as Phantom, no one bats an eye. People come to class in costume all the time at least it doesn’t block the people sitting behind him.

No one questions why he knows how to stitch wounds. He probably learned it from a med student who had to explain how to for an assignment. Or he just can’t afford to go the the hospital, he’s not the only one.

There’s a puppy that follows him around sometimes. No one cares as long as they get to pet him.

Time: …This seems like the sort of thing a responsible parent wouldn’t want you doing.
