Corrugated Cardboards In UAE
Tumblr media
You know all the ingredients that go into your product, but how much do you know about the type of cardboard box your product goes in? If your initial reaction was, “I had no idea there was more than one type of cardboard”, then this blog post will open your eyes to better packaging solutions! First things first, what is corrugated cardboard?
“The correct term is corrugated fiberboard. Cardboard is a generic term that includes all types of heavy-duty paper that can include card stock, paperboard, and corrugated fiberboard. However, when the average person thinks about cardboard, the first image that pops into their head is likely corrugated fiberboard. Corrugated cardboard is made by gluing a flat sheet of paper to a corrugated (wavy) sheet of paper.”
Types of Corrugated Cardboard:
Single Face Board – This type of cardboard does not have the same durability as other types of corrugated cardboard. However, it is cheap to produce and provides an extra layer of protection to packaged products.
Single Wall Board – This is the most commonly used style of corrugated cardboard that has five different styles of flutes. A flute is the inverted S-shaped arch within the type of material used to make corrugated boxes.
1.       C-Flute – most common corrugated flute, versatile, strong enough for most shipping situations. It is 3-16ths of an inch thick.
2.       B-Flute – used for smaller products and boxes, great for folding, seen as Point-Of-Purchase displays. It is 1/8th of an inch in thickness.
3.       E-Flute – easy to fold, excellent for printing, excellent for smaller boxes, such as pizza boxes. It is 3/32nds of an inch.
4.       F-Flute – used for specialty packaging and shoeboxes. It is 1/16th of an inch.
5.       R-Flute – new alternative to B-Flute, improved printing surface and less manufacturing waste.
Double Wall Board – Resistant to breaking when stacked and is commonly used for larger industrial containers.
Triple Wall Board – Strong enough to be a substitute for wooden crates.
