Worst Date Ever
I have had a lot of dates while I was in college but the one that sticks out the most was the one that ended with me in handcuffs. Â Now I wish I could say the handcuffs were her idea but they werenât. Â But the police officer who put me in the back seat of his cruiser insisted I that I should wear them.
Have you ever had one of those dates that started off great and then BAM!! It takes a left turn and the chances of a good night kiss is gone?  Let me tell you about the best and yet worst date I have ever had in my life. Donât worry itâs a quick story and I promise itâs something you can laugh at.
I met this beautiful girl at work; letâs call her Daphne (thatâs not her real name but I always had a thing for Daphne in Scooby Doo so I am calling her Daphne).  Daphne was gorgeous and the sweetest person you will ever meet.  After months of working up the courage to ask her out I finally did and she agreed. Friday night rolled around and I got all man-pretty for my date and I even got my truck washed and detailed the day before (ladies, if a guy picks you up in a freshly washed car thatâs detailed he is really into you).
I took her out to eat, and then we went swing dancing where I busted out my best moves.  We joked around, we laughed, and she was really enjoying herself.  Then we decided to get some night air and walk around down town.  Then the next thing I know she started to have an asthma attack and she didnât have her rescue inhaler with her (this is where the date turns to crap).
She told me to hit her on her back.  She told me by doing this it will stimulate her airways and it will break down any mucus that might be causing her asthma attack.  After I was reassured that it was okay for me to hit her back she turned around and faced a break wall to sturdy herself and then I started to hit her back.
After a few hits she told me to hit her harder.  I was concerned and I didnât want to hurt her.
âHarder!â she screamed at me.  I hit her harder and harder.  The dress she was wearing was backless and I noticed her skin turned pink and then to bright red from me hitting her.
âHarder!â  she screamed at me again.  I was concern that I was hurting her because I could see her back turn from red to now purple, and then thatâs when I heard it.  Despite her having an asthma attack she let out a loud scream that scared me and grabbed the attention of others. Â
Her asthma attack caused her to have a panic attack and she just screamed without any warning.
People started to gather around us. I was still hitting her back which was now really purple. Then it just snowballed from there. One guy yelled âHe is attacking her!â A woman then yelled for someone to call 911 and then I was tackled by this big guy who held me down with the help of his buddies until a nearby cop showed up. Â
I could hear everyone trying to comfort Daphne and trying to comfort her but she was gasping for air at this time.  The cop realized she needed medical attention and called for an ambulance.  Within 10 minutes the ambulance was there giving her oxygen which wasnât helping because she was having an asthma attack. Â
She was then taken to the hospital and she was treated.  The doctors gave her a nebulizer treatment and it brought her out of her attack and she was fine.
Me on the other hand was cuffed inside a police cruiser trying to explain why I was hitting her back which they naturally didnât buy. Â Luckily after about a half an hour went by of me pleading my case to the cop he was radioed.
Daphneâs parents called to the hospital saying their daughter wasnât attacked.  When they got there they straightened everything out and explained I was trying to help their daughter.  I was let go and the police apologized to me and then dropped me off to where I parked my truck.
Did I go on another date with Daphne?  No I didnât, but not because of the whole police handcuff thing.  She got back together with her ex-boyfriend and they are now married and raising a beautiful family.  But with all the dates I had in my dating life I will never forget about that one and I donâtâ think she will forget about it either.

I know finals week is starting for many colleges around the country and I would like to tell you a funny and embarrassing finals week story that happened to me.
In college I was a cocky little shit.  I thought I knew everything and I could do anything.  I took a history class that was interesting to me and I thought it would be fun and easy to take.  âEasy A,â I thought. Â
The reason why I thought this class was going to be easy was because I have been studying this area of history in my free time and I thought I knew everything about the subject. Turns out I was wrong, but I didnât know that at the time.  You see since I thought I knew this subject so well, I thought I could skip a few classes to do other stuff like hang out with friends and crap.  When I did go to class I usually worked on other assignments for other classes.
The week before finals week the whole class got a study guide.  I grabbed it and stuffed it into my backpack without looking at it.  The morning before the final I thought it would be a good idea to look over the study guide.  Thatâs when I had a freddy freak out.  I didnât know anything on the study guide.
Luckily I had no class that day so I dived into my book and highlighting the crap out of it.  I scrambled to write notes to study and I read chapter after chapter of the book.  Everything blended together.  I had to stay up all night to prepare for this one test that could make me or break me. Luckily the class was a night class so it didnât start until 6 p.m.  I started studying for the test on Tuesday at 8 a.m. and I stopped studying for the test on Wednesday at 5 p.m.  In total I studied for 33 hours straight!  I chugged Red Bull after Red Bull I took caffeine pills (I highly discourage doing that) and I drank pop after pop.  In the end I felt I was ready.
I got to school and got to my class.  My hair was a mess, my eyeâs blood shot, and I probably had some body funk too because I didnât take time to take a shower.  I sat down at my desk in the middle of the class room as the professor passed out the test.  The test was going to be unique and I knew about it.  For the test I knew I had to write two essays about two historical events (but I didnât know which two) and write a short biography of 15 historical figures (again no idea which ones would be on the test).
I looked at the test and a sighed a sigh of relief.  I knew everything on the test.  I knew I would either get an A or a B and the very least.  I started the test and I got halfway done with the biographies when I heard something.  I heard a weird gurgle. So did some of my classmates since I saw them looking around to see where the sound was coming from. Â
I continued with my test feeling confident and lucky at the same time but then I heard the gurgle again.  This time I felt it coming from my stomach.  Then I felt it.  I felt the pressure of gas building up in my stomach and making its way down to my lower regions if you catch my drift.  All the Red Bulls I drank along with the other pop and caffeine pills did a number on my digestive system.
âI can make it. Â I can do this, I just have to focus I told myself.â Â I pushed the feeling out of my mind and focused on the test. Â But the pressure was building and my stomach was starting to hurt. Â Beads of sweat started to form on my forehead. Â I couldnât ignore it anymore. Â I thought maybe if I just let out some gas it would ease the pressure and the pain.
I tried to let out the smallest fart so I wouldnât bring attention to myself since my desk was in the middle of the classroom.  When I tried to let out the small fart a gust of gas came out of me with a tremendous loud and smelly fart.  The whole class looked at me and laughed, including the professor.
I was so embarrassed but I felt so much better and I could focus on my test.  But I wasnât out of the woods yet.  I felt pressure building up again and my stomach kept gurgling. This time I knew the pressure was a mixture of gas and shit building up and waiting to explode out of me.
I continued on with the test as best as I could.  The beads of sweat were forming again and the pressure was getting stronger.  I looked at the test.  I wasnât even half way done yet.  But I knew I wasnât going to finish it without shitting myself.
Soon the pressure was too much for me.  I put my pencil down grabbed my backpack and ran down stairs to the restroom, but it was locked!!  The janitor was inside cleaning it.  The closest restroom was up three flights up stairs.  I ran as fast as I could with my hand covering my ass hoping I could hold it in. As I was running up the flights of steps I knew this was going to be a photo finish. Â
I finally got to the restroom went into the stall and made it just in time.  I felt sorry for that toilet and sorry if there was anyone in that bathroom because that smell was horrible and the sounds I made were loud and disgusting.
In the end I failed that class because I didnât finish the final.
The moral of this story is to study on a regular basis and not pull an all-nighter the night before. I learned that the hard way. Believe me.

Our First Survey
This weekâs blog is a little late but itâs finally here!! Â This week Iâm going to talk about our survey. Â Itâs a one question survey and it will help us mold our company into something that is beneficial to you because right now we are just a regular organization calendar. Â We are nothing special yet. Â We have a ton of ideas and features we can add to our website and app but we want to know what one you will use more before we start adding.
 Here is the listâŚ
Online Dating on the mobile app
Right now the online dating feature is only on the website at UniversityExperience.Net.  College students can date other college students. To be a member with us you must sign up using a .edu email so no old guy is creeping on young college student.  We want to know if this is a feature you want us to add to our app.
Weekly organization notifications to keep you on track on the mobile app
After talking with college students they said they would like to have a weekly reminder of whatâs coming up during the week ahead.  You would be able to set this for any day, but most people we talked to said they would set it on Sunday to see what assignments are due on what day and for what class.  This would come in handy to let you know when a test, quiz or paper is due.
Group Projects â create projects and invite students in your group so everyone can see and update progress
This feature is pretty self-explanatory. Students who are working on a group project together can create a âGroup Project.â  Everyone who is working on that project will be able to see everyoneâs progress so everyone is on the same page.
Two different types of messaging, one form of messaging for dating and another one for school work.
Right now we only have one form of messaging and that is for dating.  The second form of messaging would be for people who need to communicate with someone in their class without having to give out your phone number. Â
Letâs say you are sick one day and you know the personâs name in front of you and you know he takes good notes but you donât have his cell phone number and you donât want to give out yours to him.  With this handy messaging you can find him on our website, and message him asking him if you could borrow his notes.  Or if you are stuck on a section on the study guide you can message him or other people in your class where they found the answer for number 12.
We have more ideas that we want to add to the website and app besides these but we need to know what you guys need most.  We want to make sure the feature we add is the feature you want.

This weekâs blog is answering two questions; âWhy we arenât adding features yet to the website and to the app,â and âWhy are we giving our customers such a big voice on what direction we are going as a company?â
Letâs tackle the first question.  As we discussed in last weekâs blog, UniversityExperience.Net is operating as an MVP or Most Viable Product.  Basically once we got a working product we decided to stop and not add any new features. We didnât do that because we are lazy. We did this because we wanted to make sure what we work on next is something that college students actually needs.
We talked to a lot of college students and asked them questions about what can be done to improve their study habits, and keep them organized.  We got a lot of great ideas from these conversations, and we are ready to start working on these ideas and to add them to the website and to the app.
Now let me take a crack at question number two; âWhy are we giving our customers such a big voice on what direction we are going as a company?â
A long time ago when my co-founded and I started UniversityExperience.Net we decided we would let our customers tell us what we can do for them.  We donât want to be a company where we tell our customers what we are going to do.  After all we are here for our customers, why wouldnât we let our customers tell us what they want.
Image for a second a company that says, âThis is what we can do.  What would you like?â  I know when a new phone is revealed or when a new update is available, the company tells its customers what the phone and update can do.  I know I some of those features I donât care about and I donât use them.
Now if they would have asked me, âThis is what we can do right now.  What would you like us to work on for the next phone or update?â  I would see what they can do and I would let them know what feature I would like.  Sadly thatâs not how companies work.  Usually they do some research from a small pool of people who are supposed to represent all their customers and then they go to work.  We at UniversityExperience.Net donât work that way. We will do our research but we let all of our customers have the opportunity to have a voice on what they want us to do.

I have been getting the same question over and over again ever since we launched our website and now our new app, âHow is our organization website and app different from all the others that are out there?â
Itâs not a secret that there is a ton of organization apps out there.  The question I always counter is âWhen was the last time a new feature was added to those apps?â  The answer is always âI donât know.â Â
You see UniversityExperience.Net is a new company.  Right now we donât have a lot to offer.  I wonât lie to anyone, we simple donât.  Right now we are operating as a Most Viable Product or MVP.  All that means is that we are operating as one simple product, and that product doesnât look pretty right now.
Thatâs what we want right now.  My Co-Founder and I decided we would make the website and app operational and then stop. We have a ton of great ideas and features we would like to add to the app.  But weâre not going to right now.
The reason why we are doing this is because we want to let you, our customer decide what new features to work on and what to add next.  Thatâs right, our customers tell us what direction and products to add, not us.
UniversityExperience.Net is not just an organization website and app.  We want it to be so much more.  We want it to be a tool.  A tool that college students can use to keep their class work organized, prepare for tests, help them study and get better grades. Â
I canât think of any other company that allows all of its customers to vote and decide what direction they want to company to go in.
We donât want to be a company where WE tell you what we can do for you.  Instead we want to be the company where YOU tell us what we can do for you.
Sign up and let your vice be heard.

Study, the word college students hate. Iâve been there. I hated studying. I was always too busy and not motivated to crack open my books and get down to business. Studying is another form of stress for college students that people donât realize. Studying is mentally exhausting. I always had a hard time trying to figure out what I should write down in my notes, what I should focus on and trying to figure out what my professor is going to ask on the test. I used to buy highlighters all the time because I would highlight every word thinking itâs important. Then I would spend too much time studying the wrong things that wasnât on the tests. I finally had enough. I knew I had to figure something out or I was going to go crazy just trying to keep my head above water just for studying. I needed to get organized, study smart, and be productive. I finally realized I needed to come up with a study schedule. I learned that I needed record each lecture because I always missed stuff the professor said was important. But I had to buy an expensive digital recorder because smart phones werenât yet invented quite yet. I would also use professorâs office hours!! They are there for a reason. I would go in and ask my professors am I on the right path with my notes and what I am studying. I found that they are more than happy to help out. So use Office Hours!!! If you canât use Office Hours email them. They will respond. Also donât forget to take study breaks every 45 minutes or so or you will get burned out and you will not retain anything. I always liked to go for a walk, or play a brain game. Whatever it may be, just get away for 15 minutes and then get back to work. I promise you studying will still suck, but with these tips studying should be a little bit easier and less of a chore.

Itâs that time of year again that I always hated when I was a student. The newness of the new school year is fading away, the school year is in full swing, and midterms are rapidly approaching. I always freaked out this time of year. I was always battling to keep my head above water and staying on top of all the papers, tests, quizzes and group assignments that were due. It made me have mini panic attacks. Not to mention Midterms were rapidly approaching. I was always a horrible test taker. I donât know why because I knew the material inside and out before all my tests but when it came time to sit down and take test, my mind went blank. Here is a little secret that not too many people know about me. But I almost flunked out of school because of my fear of tests. Itâs true, I was even put on academic suspension for a semester. I almost didnât go back school because I was afraid I was going to flunk anyways so why pay more into tuition and books. The truth is Iâm a smart guy. Iâm not crazy smart like a lot of my friends are but Iâm a smart guy. I have two bachelors and I know my stuff in my field of study. But I almost flunked out of college because I couldnât get past the word test until my sophomore year. I had to learn to refocus my mind and learn how the brain works and I learned a system to jump start my brain on test days. Please learn from my experience on how to get better grades on tests. The night before I made sure I had 9 hours of solid sleep. I know this might be hard for some of you but trust me itâs worth it. So this means no all nighters the night before the test so you will have to study in advance. To tell you the truth all nighters or late night studying never helped me any because I could never focus on the test and my mind just shut off from lack of sleep. The morning of the test have a high protein breakfast and lunch. Not only is protein good for you but its brain food. It helps get the brain flowing. Go over notes before class but stop about 30 minutes before your class begins. Your notes are there to jump start your brain and get it warmed up before the test. They arenât there to for you to learn something new or go over something you donât understand right before a test. About 15 minutes before class starts play a brain game. This does a couple of things. First it helps you step away from your notes so you arenât dwelling over the same stuff over and over again which can cause you to panic. The game also helps the brain to warm up and to start thinking so when you do take the test your brain is already in thinking mode. The game also calms you down. It takes your mind off the test so you arenât panicking. I always played Sudoku, but you can play anything, such as a cross word, Words with Friends or anything that causes your brain to think and calms you down. Study!! Donât forget to study. Make sure you have enough time to study all the material and you arenât cramming. I have done that so many times and it always came back to bite me in the ass. When you are studying donât forget to take breaks. Studying three to four hours straight wonât do any good without study breaks. I always took study breaks every 45 minutes to an hour. The study break usually only lasted 15 minutes just enough time to give my brain a break. I usually played Sudoku, or walked around to get the blood flowing in my legs again. These little tricks kept me in college and raised my tests from Fâs to Aâs and Bâs. I hope this tips and tricks help you. Stay Safe, have fun, study and go experience university life. Chris Smith

We all received them before. Those random followers on our Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and any other social media accounts that we might be on. They can become annoying by trying to have us to either âLikeâ or âFollowâ them and if we do follow or like them our wall and account is spammed with advertisements that we donât care about. The truth of the matter is that you donât care about them and the only thing they care about is trying to separate you from your money. I have to confess we at UniversityExperience.Net have been guilty of this too. We admit it. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media sites in hopes of not just getting our name and brand out there so you the college students know who we are. But we also do it to know more about you. If we are following you then we are interested in you. We are interested in who you are, and what problems you have and how we can be a solution to them. Me and my best friend co-founded UniversityExperience.Net two years ago. We talked to college students one-on-one to see exactly what problems they are facing as college students. We asked a simple question, âWhat challenges are you facing as a student?â Then we shut our mouths and listened. The number one problem is keeping on top of their school work. At first UniversityExperience.Net was going to be just a college dating website, but that quickly changed after we talked to students. Since we listened to college students and we love talking to college students we welcome you to engage with us. Tell us what other problems you are facing. Ask us questions. Please feel free in asking us anything. We want communication to be a two way street. We know you want us to engage with you just as much as we want you to engage with us. We are not your typical company where the CEO is off limits and you canât talk to him/her. We are an open book and to prove it I will tell you a little about myself and it wonât be your typical âresumeâ about me section. My name is Christopher I go by Chris. I grew up in Bellevue, Nebraska, and went to school at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Iâm a diehard Maverick Hockey fan even before they became good. In fact I proposed to my soon to be wife at one of the games on the ice. I actually met her at UNO. We have been together for 10 years and yes Iâm just now getting married. Life was a bumpy road for us after the engagement with family matters and other life adventures that got in the way. But we will be getting married finally on her 30th birthday on September 18, 2015. Itâs just a couple of days away from this post. I will post pictures of the wedding day in the next few blog posts. I graduated from UNO with a double major with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and in History. I have been working in TV behind the scenes for a good portion of my post-graduation life from UNO back in 2007. I drive a big Hill-Billy Jeep with an eight-inch lift on it with swamper tires. Amy hates it and calls me a Classy Hill-Billy because I wear a tie almost every day. I watch an episode of Scooby-Doo every day. I loved Scooby-Doo ever since I could walk. In fact my best man who Adam who is the co-founder to this site and me are wearing Scooby-Doo cufflinks on my wedding day (Yes, thatâs how much I love Scooby-Doo). If you want to know anything else about me or about the website please feel free to message us. You can find us on Twitter (@U_ExperienceNet ) Instagram (UNIVERSITYEXPERIENCE) and Facebook (UniversityExperience.Net). Also message us on here or on any of the above social media sites about your experience on our website and what you feel that is important to add to it. We have a ton of upgrades that will be launching in the following semesters but if you have something that you think is important to add to the site let us know and we will look at every single one. That I can promise you. Stay safe, have fun, study, and go experience university life. Chris Smith

What is UniversityExperience.Net?
I keep getting asked what is UniversityExperience.Net? Are you guys a dating site or an organization site? The simple answer is âYes.â Me and my Co-Founder came up the idea of UniversityExperience.Net a couple of years ago. But we started off with the idea of making the website just a college dating website. No Alumni and no students that take semesters off at a time. We only wanted current registered college students because thatâs what we thought students wanted. So we hit campuses talked to college students and we discovered that college students not only would like an exclusive college dating website but they wanted and needed a new way of organization to keep up on their school work and help them prepare for their tests. We went to the drawing board with this and we came up with what UniversityExperience.Net is now. A place where college students can find a date, and keep up on their class work. Students can now sign up, search for people, message them, and setup a date with someone. Then there is the organization side of the website. Students can put their course work, their tests and quizzes and keep track on what needs to be done now and what can wait. The website will tell you when something needs your attention and when you have to work on it. In other words it keeps you on track and it tells you when you are not on track. But thatâs what UniversityExperience.Net is now. What we are really excited about is what UniversityExperience.Net will be in the next few semesters. Imagine if you will with a world with us helping you with new and fun upgrades that are coming up that we are excited to reveal. You wake up one morning and the first thing you see on your phone besides the snooze button is a list of stuff you have to get accomplished today. Besides going to all your classes today you have to study for your midterm in Psychology, a paper to work on in English Comp, work on your assignment in Biology, your morning run, and you have a date with someone you just met but you donât know them that well yet. You get up and get ready to go to school. After you park you get on the shuttle. During your shuttle ride you open our app and go to the study section and start going over your notes for your Psychology midterm. You go to your first class of the day, you take notes in class. After class you take a picture of the notes you just took and they are automatically transferred into typed notes in our app so you can study them later. As you walk to go the campus gym you get a message from your date through our app because you just donât know them well enough to give them your number yet. The message reads that they will pick you up at 7 tonight to go to dinner. When you get to the gym you put in your ear buds, and log back into our app to listen to a lecture from last Fridayâs Psychology class that you needed to listen to again because some parts from the lecture you zoned out while in class. After your run you get a notification from the app letting you know that you need to work on your paper and also your assignment in Biology. You head to the library to get to work. When you are doing your Biology assignment you get stuck on a question. You open the app back up, go your Biology Study Group page and post âGuyâs Iâm stuck on question 11 for this weekâs assignment. What did you guys get and how did you find it.â You then move to work on your paper for English Comp. After you finish your paper you get a message through our app from your Biology Study Group from the smart kid in class. He replies âI had a hard time with that on too. The answer is on page 64 halfway down in the 2nd paragraph.â After you finish your last class of the day your friend asked if you are available to hang out tomorrow night. You donât know if you can because next week is really busy with classes and assignments. You open our app and go to your schedule and ask if you will be able to go out tomorrow night and still be able to get all your studying and homework done. The app says you canât because you have to start studying for you Geology midterm. Itâs seven and now your date picks you up. You go out to dinner and then to a movie. You guys decide to go driving when your dateâs tire blows. You go to our app and go to your emergency list and hit the button. Within minutes your friend is there to pick you up because they can get your GPS coordinates and directions to where you are through our app.

A New Way To Keep Organized
Starting the new school year for a college student can be stressful but also exciting. The key to success is organization. Keeping up on school work, papers, and class projects will help you get the grade you want and walk across that stage to get your diploma.
However, as stressful as college may be with the late nights and cramming for tests, this is one race you will want to come in first.
Many students fall behind because they have a hard time getting organized and they fail classes not because they are dumb, but because they lack the skill of keeping up on their assignments and creating time to study for tests and quizzes.
When I was in school I used a day planner and wrote down everything in it. It was my life. I had everything in it. One day my world came to a halt. I lost my day planner. I had all my due dates, what I had to do, when to do them and all my test preps. I was at a lost.
Luckily, today we have technology to keep us organized.  Still, a lot of students fall short when it comes to keeping up on their assignments. We at University Experience, know how hard it is for college students, so we came up with a solution to help students keep up on their assignments.
Our website is designed in a way to keep college students ahead of the curb on their assignments. We have professors connected with our website that has their syllabus already loaded onto our website. All you have to do is select your professor and the class you are taken and your syllabus is automatically imported in to your calendar. Our website will also alert you when you should be a working on a project or studying for a test.
Keeping you ahead of your school work and getting you across that stage is our goal.
