It's true. The exact wording is:

Which was misquoted by the Department of Justice as:

“take all available steps to facilitate the return of Abrego Garcia to the United State” (emphasis added)

Why is the DOJ misquoting the Supreme Court on such an important case? Some might think it's because they wanted to make what the Supreme Court was asking seem especially burdensome, to explain why they couldn't do it. Or the wanted to force a showdown with the court.

Above The Law thinks it's because they used chatGPT to write the brief.

Listen. This admin uses chatGPT for EVERYTHING. RFK Jr used it to write his "make America healthy again" report. DOGE interns suggested using it to rewrite the social security administration's codebase. The Trump admin used "AI" (maybe just a keyword search) to freeze the funding of any science or health programs with certain words in their titles, including the words "woman" and "bias" for the National Science Foundation.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. The fact that this administration relies on "AI" for their dirty work really just shows that "AI" is only good for two things - mass propaganda and pretending to do work that you don't actually care about.

Will they regret it? Depends on if they actually want the government to function or not. If they don't care whether it works - all evidence is that they don't - or if they want to purposefully make it worse - all evidence is that they do - then sure, AI will do that for them.
