idk if anyone has said this before, but in the bathtub scene, lottie is unclothed and nat is fully dressed. nat is often taken advantage of and equates love with physical intimacy and lottie feels love spiritually. i think nat can find it hard to apologize, but she still does in this scene and lottie is never once shown completely unclothed to others. they're vulnerable in a way they never show anyone else. they really are just the most vulnerable parts of each other
