Look, as much as I’d like to see LGBTQIA+ representation in kpop, some fans have gotten very aggressive and downright creepy with ships and forcing sexualities upon idols. Like yeah we can’t assume someone is heterosexual but also don’t assume someone is homosexual either. Stop assuming because some of you are basically, at this point, not really caring about the LGBTQ community, you’re fetishizing it. Constant affection (skinship) does not equal homosexuality and lack of does not equal heterosexuality. Also some of you are just thinking in the ways of heterosexuality and homosexuality, forgetting that there are other sexualities besides straight, gay, and lesbian. Like when Momo and Heechul came out as dating, a lot of people just went wow I can’t believe they’re just straight or wow Momo isn’t gay sucks as if bi/pansexuality doesn’t exist. That’s bi/pan erasure and as a bisexual person that annoyed me a lot. Also when idols don’t fit your ships or go outside of your ships, some of you get way too sad and upset and start attacking these idols because they’re not fitting your mold and it’s really weird. I don’t care if you ship them but please be respectful. Also just normalize boys and men being affectionate friends rather than labeling every single one of them as gay (I make jokes about things being gay all the time but some of you take that statement and literally shove it down an idol’s image until it’s uncomfortable and unnecessary, sometimes reducing idols to only their “gay ships” - see Winwin and Yuta). Honestly overall just stop dictating their sexualities and then getting upset when it’s not being fulfilled to your vision. Stop fetishizing the LGBTQIA+ community. Idols can support the community and may even be part of it but it’s not our job to dictate their sexuality for them and keep forcing it on them. Coming out is hard and being forced to explain your sexuality makes it worse. Also support actual Kpop idols and Korean artists who are actually out and who have explicitly said they’re in the community. Because if you’re going to just support people simply for their sexuality rather than their art and music then maybe support artists who are already out instead of forcing sexualities upon others.

stray kids are getting a lot of hate now so i decided to make this little thread to show you guys that they're literal angels and don't deserve to be treated like that

#1 they always produce and writes music to help others to go through hard times

they're aware of mental issues and other global issues for example they wrote songs about insomnia, depression and anxiety. there's too many songs that bring up these kind of topics but i will give you a few examples:

#2 chan goes live once a week so we don’t feel alone and so that we have someone to talk to & just relate to

channie's room became a safe space for a lot of fans

#3 not only chan goes live to help stays but the others do too

- hyunjin once asked for stays problems to see if he could give us advice and help us. he even read out a stays concern in english and tried his best to reply in english

- jisung went live to help stays fall asleep by reading a story

- changbin and jisung taught stays how to rap during one of their vlives

- minho goes live to teach fans their choreographies

#4 they support lgbt

- they attended new york pride in 2018 after kcon and met some fans there

- felix and changbin wore nike shoes that were designed to celebrate pride month

- felix talked about his ideal type and included a girl and boy type

*cough* someone's whipped for changbin *cough*

- hyunjin talked about the song "1-800-273-8255" and said that he cried while watching the mv (the mv is about about lgbt and suicide)

#5 they respect everyone no matter what race or skin color

- chan showed us that he's educated on the n word (3racha - p.a.c.e)

- he even said on his recent vlive that no matter your age, race or skin color stray kids concert is a safe place for everyone

#6 they open their hearts to us and show us that they're humans too and even kpop idols sometimes feel lonely just like everyone else

changbin in his solo track "streelight" talked about going through problems without being able to tell someone and encouraged people to trust others and open up. he used the streetlight as a metaphor for how someone may look bright in the darkness but are actually sad and alone.

he even included 'the blue project' in his mv. the blue project is to help raise awareness on mental health, helping to encourage people to open up. the blue plaint was inspired by jayden whyte who painted a tree blue on his parents' farm as a joke. he took his life in november 2018. after his death the blue tree took on a new purpose: “spread the paint and spread the message that it’s OK to not be OK.”

#7 they donate to charities regularly

minho buys his jewelry from korean brand wing bling. the percentage of every purchase is donated to wwf. he helped polar bears and supported snow leopard conservation through that small gesture

he also supports a child living in africa through unicef but the child doesn’t know that he’s an idol. but he said that if the opportunity comes one day he would like to invite that child to watch him perform (arena homme interview with minho&hyunjin - april 2020)

#8 chan once said that he wants to get tattoos but he isn’t because he won’t be able to donate blood regularly

okay but imagine chan in tattoos. we wouldn't survive that 😳

#9 they ended gender stereotypes by wearing unique outfits

they wore crop tops many times and jeongin once said that pink is for boys

#10 they made a series where they give advices to viewers on various topics (honey-tips)

I just saw the clip of chan talking about periods and I think Im gonna cry ? I got diagnosed with PMDD when I was 13 and all the men that have ever been in my life always downplay it. I get severe depressive episodes before my period, followed by the discomfort and pain that come with it. Chan, a man that I have never met in my life and who I only know through the internet, made me feel more accepted and okay with my body than all the men that have ever been in my life combined.

I haven’t been active on here recently but I really do just be falling more and more into love with chan I feel ✨hopeless✨. I’m about a day late but I started watching his live from yesterday, the Chan’s room ep65. I just can’t get over how beautiful he is. How his energy lights up a room. How he talks to Stay like they’re human, not just “fans”. The way he laughs makes my heart stutter, and his smile is so infectious. His energy is so one-of-a-kind that I can’t stop coming back to see more of it. And it just feels so weird because I do be a ✨minor from the south✨ but this guy makes me feel so happy and makes me want to live to my potential, makes me want to live life to the fullest and I can’t explain these feelings other than like that.

Stray Kids as Things I’ve Baked during Quarantine:

Bang Chan

Chan would 100% be golden oreo cheesecake. I didn’t even follow a recipe for it, just saw an ad about oreo cheesecake and started throwing shit together with my best friend. I’m not sure why specifically Chan would be a golden oreo cheesecake, but it’s definite that that’s what he would be.

Changbin

Changbin gives off cinnamon vibes- so if i had to put him to something I’ve baked during quarantine, I’d have to say cinnamon and sugar swirl bread or snickerdoodle cookies.

Minho

Crepes. Don’t hate on me for this- but not just normal crepes. Minho would be crepes with Nutella and fruity pebbles. Yes, fruity pebbles.

Hyunjin

Avocado bread. Enough said.

Han

Red velvet cake balls. I didn’t make this one completely from scratch- the red velvet cake mix was boxed because I didn’t have the stuff to make it from scratch, but I did make the cream cheese frosting from scratch😎 but yeah idk the red velvet cake balls really resonates with me to Han I feel like.

Seungmin

The hard chocolate chip and pecan cookies that I over-baked. They were fantastic but just a little too crunchy.

Y’all gotta know where this is going... Brownies! Simple enough, just some chocolate brownies and some chocolate frosting- which my friend said was weird but she’s just a doubter cos the brownies were ✨fire✨. Maybe i should send my recipe to him😌

Plain cheesecake!! This sounds really bland but my plain vanilla cheesecakes are so awesome. Cheesecake is actually my favorite dessert. The vibes I get from I.N are cheesecake. I’m not sure what that means though lmfao.

why we shouldn’t pester skz and 3racha to drop new music/albums✨

ok think about it for a second. Put yourself in Chan’s shoes. Stray Kids is self-produced. 3racha is self-produced. Chan, Changbin, and Jisung (and probably occasionally the rest of the members) have to take time out of their days to write and produce music. Do you guys understand how difficult that must be? Normal idols have it rough, now imagine that coupled with having to write and produce your own music. Working out for hours a day, talk-shows, music videos, lives, tour, shows, dieting, having to maintain this idol-look, everything that comes with being an idol PLUS writing and producing your own music. Give them a break, please. They’ve been popping out what? Three albums a year since they debuted? And you still expect 3racha to drop music frequently? Chill out and be patient, please. I don’t want any of 3racha or skz to end up in the hospital from overworking themselves, and I’m sure you guys don’t want that either.
