Evaluation
CoffinVR has been designed and produced as a mobile horror VR game for Android. But it also has demo can work with Oculus DK2 on PC. In the project planning phase, I decided to make a VR horror game.It will give users deep, immersive experience with other features such as the audience needs to sit in the coffin to experience this game. Chambel and Neng (2012), “360° video features, even more, information at the same time” There will have a panoramic 360°video as a background video was projected on the curved wall.The wall with the real coffine to contribute an installation.
The process of this game is not long but exciting. After clicking the ‘OK’ button to start the game, the player will find he/she is in a coffin with heavily breath sound. The player’s view will like using a flashlight in the dark. After looking around the surrounding for few second, there will be blood and flame effect in sight. The atmosphere becomes tense and horrible. Then the worse thing happens, a zombie appears from the other side of the coffin. It crawls on the virtual body of the player. Now, an angel appears, it glows. The players can turn his head and use the cursor in the centre to catch the angel. If the player stares at the angel for two seconds, the lid of the coffin will open, and the player can see the sky and the sunshine. Otherwise, the zombie will pounce the player and red words ‘game over’ will be shown.
There is no words hint to tell players what should they do in the whole game. They may die in the first time and try again. The angel will be glowing, so it is not too hard for players to find out the right way of surviving. The downside of this game is that maybe a little bit too dreadful. It is not friendly for people with heart disease.
“When a user is immersed, An individual loses their sense of space and time, and the call of the heart is followed by silence” (Fredricks, Blumenfeld, & Paris, 2004; Parker, Bind, & Strauss, 2010). The immersion experience is also a state of mind (Stein, Daniels, Kimiecik, & Jackson, 1995) in that the individual challenges the ability of activity to be balanced with the ability to achieve that activity. Therefore, the inner goal of the self and the external activity within the consciousness determine whether the individual experiences the immersion. When there is a conflict between the two, the individual will feel panic, fear, jealousy, apathy, anxiety, etc., and when the two coordinate, the individual will experience immersion.
The immersion experience is described as the integration of consciousness and behaviour as a whole (Harrison, 2001; Beard & Hoy, 2010) where the individual is fully engaged in a particular activity.In this project, immersion used in every element. The main part is a VR game experience with sound, visual 3D model, special effect and interaction to create the immersion. And there is a 360 video which was shot in the real graveyards in Hatfield and York to immerse. And there is even a real coffin for the players to lay in while they playing. Those three elements help enrich immersive experience in this work.

The most difficult part of my work is realised the interactive on VRheadset.I use code to make “ok” bottom on the Bluetooth handle to click the start on the main menu jump to the coffin scene.and “menu” bottom to return to the main menu.

Build terrain and rest models finished
Although most game scenes are in the coffin. I also need to create terrain for good ending when the coffin was opened. I build many trees and sunshine effect to make users are free from anxiety.
I have been used 2 months to learn and design code on Unity.I don not have time to build my angel model. I ask help for Unity coThe community to get an angel model was allowed. I have uploaded the website to show the accepted.

The virtual view testing
I have experienced most of the VR devices.I picked the mobile VR as my equipment.I want to give the user the best experience in the exhibition.Because the user is lying in a real coffin so wireless devices can reduce the shackles.The wireless controller is currently the most interactive method of VR devices what I can do. But Oculus Gear VR does not have controller now!! I do not get any suggest from tutor about VR.So I use my way Mojing (VR equipment ) SDK to create my virtual view.This VR headset has a controller to interactive.

Sound effect and background music realised
The sound is an important part of the game. As a horror game, the sound helps the player to enhance the game experience. I think about the sound effect start from the storyboard.The breathing , screaming ,heartbeat sound etc are sound effects and background music.I organise the sound on the unity. I do not have the ability to make music, I have to get the voice is allowed music from sound effects website.

Build model-Zombie
As the key to the core gameplay.It took a long time to make a zombie character.He made some modifications to the body based on the priest model.But I want to carve a zombie with a big mouth.
When drawing materials, I encountered some problems, because the structure is not familiar with the texture map is not always in the right position. Finally, I find the way that uses position mark the texture map fit the model

The start animation realised and upload to social media
I started editing my panoramic video material.This is a big challenge for my computer because it is 4K's Ultra HD content, any changes are to be pre-rendered for a long time.But to realise what I had organised. I need to make colour correction.I add brown tone,strengthen the contrast and adjust the corners of the dark to create an atmosphere of terror.

Rendering this 2mins composition of the 8K video took a whole night's time.I thought I would upload it to Youtube and can make any mobile with VRheadset easy to watch it.But Youtube limited format to 4K so the resolution of the video makes me a little disappointed.

The main menu realised
Every game has the main menu. The coffinVR is no different. However, It does not need too much function in the menu just a start button.
The first of all, I need to redesign the title.Title is the first to be seen by all users; I still use the previous logo design makes him more conspicuous

Then I got Ian's advice to add some blood fingerprints and blood stamp. and a blood red start button, so it looks much better now

Fire and blood effect realised
Last time I made the simulate particle system. Today I generated flame based on the previous particle system. And build shader image bleed effect for those of all.
First I need draw a flame as material in Photoshop. It is really simple just use the brush to achieve it.
then put into the unity, based on the particle system I established before to Add particle animator and particle render components editing to produce it
To enhance the horror atmosphere I also made a screen bleed shader.The way I learn from (Jimmy Vegas unity youtube channel,2017)
Put all effects together. The atmosphere is what I want.
