general tips
divide your flashcards up into categories so that they’re easier to organize
use different colors to organize! for example, i use different colors for verbs, adjectives, etc for my spanish flashcards!
add pictures. it can be a visual clue and it can also help you remember the definition or concept
you can use them to summarize complex topics into concise explanations. bullet points work great !! (no need to be wordy or use complete sentences!)
apply spaced repetition when going through flashcards. for example, you can go through them on day 1 and a day later, go back to see if you remember any. take the ones that you couldn’t remember and go through those a couple times. two days later, go through them again and do the same thing. continue on until you’ve learned them all !
digital flashcards are great!! i personally love quizlet because i can review flashcards on my ipod without dragging around 520 lbs of flashcards. there are also other sites / apps that you can use such as memrise, anki, and studyblue.
storage
stores like walmart, target, etc or dollar stores or stationery shops sell these little cute boxes to store flashcards
elastic bands also work well
binder clips (they can make a little indent in the cards tho)
those plastic ziplock bag thingies
quizlet allows you to access your flashcards offline if you load them on your device beforehand when you have wifi
i’m also pretty sure that some apps allow you to access them offline as well. some flashcard sites also have app versions (usually they’ll provide a link down below at the very bottom of the site)
i personally use elastic bands + ziplock bags. i’ll bind together flashcards for sections and then a bag for a chapter. i’ll also label the bound flashcards with a little sticky tab and write the chapter number on the bag with sharpie.
hope this helped !! feel free to request here + see more helpful posts here! :)
