Although home doesn’t feel like home without a pet, nothing and no one will ever replace this special dog. She was the sweetest, kindest, most loving and affectionate dog. I remember fondly her love for food, and how she’d steal sandwiches from strangers and leave a puddle of drool on the floor whenever I took the chicken and brocc out. I miss the smell of her ears, and her paws, and the way she yawned, whined to get attention, and flicked her tongue when she was cozying up to me. Sleeping beside me, under covers, in all seasons - even in hot summer. Resting her head on my lap, waking me up with aggressive kisses, and of course her tail wiggle, which was the most adorable thing I ever saw, which gave me so much happiness. The emptiness she left behind is huge. Love you, babygirl❤️

Today I made Brynzové halušky because John’s roommate is Slovakian and he said it’s one of his faves (I’m a gnocchi fan myself). And he and me clicked really well. I actually just loved his accent, and his way of talking - it made me wonder, do all young slavs speak in the same way? I just felt right at home, bantering and joking, he had the same goofy, chill and silly energy, that I instantly liked him. And he also said that having a female there makes ’this place feel like home’ and that the food tasted better than the restaurant ones(’it tastes like home, like mom’s cooking, you know?’), and told John that meeting me made him want a girlfriend. Anyway, being here has been amazing, hanging with these guys has been so uplifting. Copenhagen has such a nice vibe to it, as well. It was really, much nicer than Barcelona, and just what I needed. I’m kind of dreading heading home now, but my mommy promised she’d be there for the first nights at least. I miss my doggo, but that goes without saying, and I don’t have enough words to express what I feel, but I think everyone could understand

I miss her so much. After thinking this theough, I decided I don’t want to seay in Barcelona with a bunch of unfamiliar people, or even my cousin and her friend. Sure, ig it’s good to come out, and it did feel nice not to think too much tonight and meet new people and drink a couple of drinks, but at the same time it feels like I’m escaping my feelings. And I don’t want that. I want to mourn in peace, lay in bed and cry and talk about my baby angel. I don’t want to go back to my apartment, as it’s too hard not to be met by her usual cries of joy and beautiful wiggle. I also don’t want to stay at my mom’s, which is the place she took her last breath. Goodness gracious. I wish I could have kept her forever. I decided to cut my trip short in Barcelona and travel to Copenhagen, to John. At a time like this, he’s the one I want to be with for a while, before I head back to the norm. Mom said she will go to my apartment on Sunday and clean it out of all dog toys, clothes, bowls etc. God. How terrible it is to love something that isn’t eternal. Rest in peace, babygirl, you were so deeply loved.

I want to rewind time. Go back to times before I knew things were going downhill. Before my brother died, before I lost the people I cared about, before my dog got sick. To just appreciate what I had. To stop for a moment, to just lay down and enjoy what’s right in my arms. I’d do anything, to just go back in time and do it all again.

The company, the conversations and laughter, Silent Hill Escape Room, the food and the cheers, the summer evening rooftops and the dancing. One of the best nights ever. Thank you, water squad 🧡
