26. Jealous Kiss

Nothing drove him as angry as the sellsword – it wasn’t because of his cocky attitude, nor because he was constantly undermining Jon’s authority, not even because the man had no scruples. No, it was the way he kept leering at the Queen, the way he constantly followed her around, the way he begged for her attention like a lost puppy. He hadn’t had her since they had arrived at Winterfell; even if he were to successfully sneak around the keep and find his way to her chambers, the bloody sellsword didn’t budge from his post, choosing to stay guard each night at her door.

His mood was drastically turning sour with every hour he couldn’t kiss her. He hadn’t even noticed just how mad the ridiculous pompous man with his stupid blue beard and flashy clothes drove him – until he had yelled at Sam for forgetting to bring parchment so he could write to Greywater Watch. Ashamed for his uncalled outburst, he had profusely apologised, despite Sam’s reassurances.

“You’re still the King, Jon, not just in the North, but you’re the heir to the Iron Throne.”  

Sam had only stated the obvious, yet despite not caring much for neither title nor position, his friend’s words had made him realise that he was a King, and a King could do as he pleased; so, for the first time since they had learned the truth of his parentage, he made for the Queen’s chambers. 

Just as expected, the sellsword was waiting at his usual post. Jon gave a curt nod to the two Unsullied and made for the door’s handle.

Unspoken Truths - a Jonerys Missing Moment

Summary: Jon and Daenerys share a tender moment together after the Dragonpit negotiations.

Daenerys breathed a sigh of relief as she walked out of the Dragonpit with her advisors and Dothraki guard.  Miraculously, the negotiations with Cersei Lannister had been a success and a truce had been called between the two warring queens.  Daenerys was still wary of course.  Putting complete trust in Cersei would be foolish, and she wouldn’t put it past the woman to have something treacherous up her sleeve.  Agreeing to a truce while focusing on the threat in the North seemed like a winning solution for everyone involved, yet she couldn’t help wondering if it was all too good to be true…

She took one last look at the Dragonpit as a wave of sadness rushed through her.  The ruined arena, once home to majestic, powerful dragons, was now nothing more than a crumbling, ancient relic – a cruel reminder of her family’s demise.  Jon Snow, however, seemed to think otherwise.

A small smile crossed her face as she thought about the handsome, young Northerner walking beside her who had dared to give her hope.

You Can Never Be Mine | Chapter 5

Jon broke his fast in the common hall early, before many of his brothers had even dragged themselves out of bed to perform their morning ablutions. Once the first finger of dawn had crooked over the pane of his window, he’d wasted no time in getting up to start his day. As it was, he’d barely slept, and he hadn’t seen the point in lazing around, pretending he had.

The night had been long and restless, and he’d tossed and turned for hours, rehashing everything he’d learned earlier that evening. It was all a mess in his head, but he kept circling back to one thing in particular.

Daenerys, a bloody Targaryen. The lost princess of a dynasty that had been all but annihilated.

His mind still reeled with that crucial revelation. Though he’d stewed in his anger all night, remorse began to worm through the cracks of his pique. Not only had her husband been killed by a sellsword sent to murder her, but Daenerys was also still reckoning with a false identity and a lifetime of duplicity by her own family. It had to be difficult.

And in her grief, Jon had been a complete ass to her.

I’ve got loyalty, got royalty rating: a very light mature pairing: Jon x Daenerys summary: After Jon learns that he has a birthright to the Iron Throne, he notices Daenerys pulling away from him. note: love to @jonathansnowflakes for letting me babble to her near incessantly. 

“You’re avoiding me.”

She doesn’t look surprised to find him lingering in the hall outside her quarters. Exhausted, really, more than anything else. She brushes past him without slowing her graceful, quiet steps, the smell of honey and ash following after her as it always seems to.

(He tries not to remember how he could smell it on his skin for days, after. How in the space just between her shoulder and neck, below her ear, it smells the strongest. How she gasps out his name when he drags his teeth against the same spot, her nails pressing into his shoulders and her ankle hooking behind his knee.)

“I’ve been busy,” she responds, voice clipped. He knows very well how busy she has been. Bewitching his banner men as well as his wolf, Ghost trailing after her wherever she goes. Even now, he can hear the soft pad of paws just behind them both, a silent patrol in the darkness of the hall.
