okay so i’ve been thinking about this au for quite a while and it’s a bit messy so far BUT

consider. a mixed team (boys & girls) - might not even be a sports team tbf, we all remember that st dudes were not “athletic”, so it might be a dnd club or some shit. point is, mr clark gets them to an international competition. and manages to pay for the plane. he gets sick last minute and wishes av club good luck - but they do not get there. because the plane fucking crashes.

so all in all, we have,

𝗐𝗂𝗅𝗅 𝖻𝗒𝖾𝗋𝗌 (lottie mathews) - the prophet. we all know how that goes don’t we. is he actually getting visions? is the lack of medication which joyce used to provide causing him to hallucinate eventually? or is he possessed by the wilderness the mind flayer? idk. we’ll find out.

𝗆𝗂𝗄𝖾 𝗐𝗁𝖾𝖾𝗅𝖾𝗋 (natalie scatorccio) - oh who is you he remains the paladin. and good GOD does he have a weird cannibalistic homoerotic rivalry with sorta possessed will. eventually he goes from being the aggressive-still-civilised-guy to a guy who’s a bit too obsessed with stopping will’s visions. maybe he just misses his best friend. or maybe he’s going crazy. either way he has a fuckass mullet

𝗇𝖺𝗇𝖼𝗒 𝗐𝗁𝖾𝖾𝗅𝖾𝗋 (shauna shipman) - hear me out i repeat. she’s not as batshit crazy. but there is a resemblance. she did not want to leave hawkins. she did not want to get on that plane. she did not want to have to confront how much she actually wants johnathan byers - who she is gravely jealous of because he actually is not afraid to be a freak - and god knows this will not end well.
