He hummed. "S'about these friends who go on vacation. Summary says someone dies, but I just started." He then pointed to some of the other books, "those two were murder mys'try."
Open RP
Shouyou let out a small huff as he closed the book, its deep-red cover an ominous sign against its pale, fragile pages. The desk lamp lightbulb had burnt out its core, leaving only the ceiling lights, too dim for Shouyou’s liking.
He placed the book onto a small but growing pile, Hadith stacked against a dark-blue spine and a time-faded brown. Grabbing his fourth book from the pile—a paper back with a picture for a cover, much more thin than the others and obviously newer as well—and opened it up to the first page.
His eyes scanned the pristine white pages, the words sounding too alike the other beginnings. Shouyou was becoming tired. He wasn’t sure what time it was or how long ago he had eaten. His eyes felt heavy from reading for so long, but he refused to give up.

Shouyou smiled and made Tamashī nod. "Found some scrap leather an' made new boots. Lot'sa mysteries here. Read a lot already." He pointed to the growing pile.

"M'stries!" He shouted, excited to see his friend. "Koto, Tama, and I wanted to find ways to figure out what happened by reading stories. It's ideas," he explained. Tamashī was dressed in a new, navy blue dress that covered her ankles to reveal black boots (as they were easier to stay on). Her hair was tied in a messy bun and she was positioned in a way as if Shouyou was making her read as well. "Tama thinks they're boring though."

(hope you don't mind me jumping in)
Shouyou was back in the library at a loss for what else to do. His doll was seated at a table and he was on his tip toes trying to reach books on selves too high for him to reach. He had wanted to try to read somemurder mysteries to understand more about crimes and how to go about solving them.
Suddenly, he heard the dull creak of a door opening, and the light sighted slightly to accompany the opened space. Shouyou turned around and saw someone new.
((sorry I’ve been so inactive!! life’s been crazy and I didn’t have any free time plus I’m a big baby about actually engaging with other people))
Akio walks out of his dorm room, rubbing his eyes. It’s late, but he can’t seem to stay asleep for longer than a few moments, and his legs seem to be relatively pain free. He’s taking advantage of this, of course, and making the short trek down the hall to the library, where maybe he’ll be able to read himself into sleepiness. He tries to move as quietly as possible so not to wake the other students in the literary wing as he closes the distance between him and the library door, pulling it open slowly.

Left to his own devices, Shouyou wasn't sure where to look. His friends had shared a few things with him, but he was still confused.
Where else could he look? He didn't want to go back to the gym; he didn't want to see Kotomi's body. He walked, with no particular destination in mind, his feet dragging slightly as he did so.
He hugged onto Koto tightly, her plastic smile never fading. Before long, Shouyou found his way back into the courtyard. Slowly, he made his way over to the tree where he first woke up and looked at it. Nothing here made sense.
But he had to find the truth.

Shouyou hummed. "Who live this dorm? Did…oh! Was Kotomi's lock scratched up? Or did she let culprit in? Maybe…maybe she was never in room? And someone messed up bed to distract." Shouyou scrunched up his face, but his eyes lit up—ideas started coming to him, he was able to help! He wanted to apologize to Kotomi for not being able to keep for safe, but solving what happened would have to suffice for now. "Could be more than one person? Maybe?"
Investigation
Leaving the sweet makers room in a mood fouler than before with Aiko, they headed outside to investigate the dorms in the creative wing as together they had come to the conclusion that either the killer had an accomplice or the killer themselves where from the creative wing. Either case they had to investigate every corner of the wing, as clues were the only thing between them and their inevitable demise and Ryoko, for once wasn’t eager for death.

Shouyou toddler out after the two, still clutching on to the drawing. "If…night time then, then probably close? To hide. The…the culprit would need to be close?" He wanted to help, but couldn't think of much currently, but he agreed they should check the dorms.

Shouyou held onto the piece of paper, trying to make sure his tears didn't fall on it. It was an alien. Probably. But what did aliens have to do with anything? He tried thinking of murder mysteries he watched with the other kids. Usually these things were dying messages, right? Was it a name? A talent? Was someone here actually an alien? Shouyou hadn't met many of the other students, so he wasn't sure. "Hey," he managed to choke out, "where's the, where's the green? Black? Where'd it…come? Where it go?"
Body Discovery
Shouyou looked up at the ceiling, wondering where the voice was coming from. A body? Concerned, he stood up, grabbed Tamashī, and toddled to the door. Heaving the heavy door open with a grunt, he eventually managed to make his way to where the announcement said to go (he managed to memorize just a little bit of the place).
Holding tight to Tamashī, Shouyou peered into the room and looked around, a hollow feeling in his stomach. At first he didn’t see it—maybe he didn’t want to—but when he did, his world came crashing down. There, in front of him, was Kotomi. Shouyou couldn’t move.

Shouyou stared in front of him with globs of tears in his eyes. He sniffed and held onto Tamashī, squinting and peering down at the paper. He rubbed at his eyes to better his eyesight and scrunched up his nose. "Alien…"

Shouyou followed blindly as Ryoko dragged him along. He couldn't see the walls passing him by, only the pink oozing out of his friend. Tamashī's head lolled as he staggered, his hand limp in Ryoko's. He tripped and stumbled, over and over again, his mind lost in dripping pink walls and flesh consumed by orange. If it were a painting, maybe the colors would be pretty together, but the stench of iron and char plagued his nose. It was suffocating. He wanted to cry. He knew he was already crying but it didn't feel enough. It wasn't enough. It felt quiet and void and empty. The pink bow in Tamashī's hair contrasted drastically from the atmosphere, too happy and sweet.

Shouyou stood stock still. He was petrified, too shocked to move. He didn't know what to do. He didn't want to do anything. That was his friend. His friend, his friend, was lying on the floor. Dead. He couldn't comprehend it, it didn't make sense. Kotomi was…Kotomi was so nice…. Slowly, he managed to look up when a shadow crossed over him. His mouth was dry, but his eyes started collecting liquid, tears slowly beginning to form. He didn't know what to do.

Shouyou squinted at Ryoko for a few seconds before scribbling some things on a blank piece of paper. "Planes aren't dolls…difer, different skill." He ripped out another blank piece and tried folding it into a triangle and throwing it towards Ryoko. It flipped around in a circle and then veered quickly to the left, smacking into the table as it plummeted. "Dunno how chemistry works either," he kicked his feet. "Don't need t'know…make a p'r plane. Ya got math. Not an aero-scientist. But," he looked up at the girl, "lots'a practice. An' patience. Gotta learn to do things quick when a dozen impatient kids want toys now." He giggle, his remaining lips resting in a slight smile as he went back to draw. "What kind clothes Ryoko like?"
Passing through the corridors of the Creative Wing with the hope of finding a clue on the Frog mascot, Ryoko peeked inside a room expecting to find everything other than a lead inside. She was neither wrong nor correct, as inside was Shouyou working on a project but no clues. Momentarily giving up on her quest she headed inside with the intent of getting to know Shouyou better.

Shouyou's head shot up as he stared across at her with wide, sparkling eyes, his mouth slightly agape. A wide smile made its way across his face and he turn his drawings around to show Ryoko, pointing forcefully at his drawings. "Clothes!" He pointed some more before getting up and running to the corner, coming back with a few new dolls, sans clothes. He lined them up one by one: Aiko, Skylar, Kotomi, and Una. Along with them were some stray plastic limbs and cloth lumps which were going to be torsos. "Dolls! For…" he picked up one of the torsos and brought it towards Ryoko's face, "everyone!"

Shouyou jumped and slipped, falling off of the stool. Tamashī's head seemed to bobble slightly at the motion, as if questioning the action. Shouyou stood up and dusted his overalls, checking to make sure Tamashī was okay before looking up at Ryoko and shrinking back slightly, still somewhat scared due to his previous encounters with the girl. He waved timidly and sat back down.

Shouyou was bouncing slightly in his chair, becoming understimulated from sitting for so long. He was sketching out some stencils for clothing models and Tamashī was seated on the chair next to him, wearing a new dress and her hair in a bun.
