The Chinese character 思(miss) is made by two words 心(heart) and 田(farm). My understanding of "miss" is a sentiment constantly growing in mind, so I build ink landscape with something rising up, and the camera keeps moving forward, going deeper to the emotion. The idea of ink experiment is from Shui-mo(ink and wash painting), the most important category of Chinese Painting. However, my ink jumped from 2D into 3D, and not like Maya ink, it's real, organic and maintaining the natural state.

Skiing as sport is in it’s infancy in China, a phenomenon of the country’s exploding middle class. As a means of survival, however, it is thousands of years old, a stone age hunter-gatherer technology born in the Altai mountains where China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Siberia merge. On a vast trajectory that spans 11,000km of Northern China, Chad Sayers and Forrest Coots touch down into the rich past and dizzying future of these two respective Chinese ski cultures. As one rapidly expands, they find the other is at risk of disappearing.

Macro is a personal experimental short that explores the tiny moments which comprise our natural world. This meditative, loose-narrative weaves a thread through a lush micro-world, nuanced by the details that we often overlook. This is my first personal short and it was a tremendously enlightening process, creating a 100% CG piece based heavily in the world of macro photography.
