Speaking as a survivor of child sex abuse: the world would be a lot better if yall spent less time talking about the ways in which pedophiles should be punished and more time supporting survivors and preventing abuse

I get it, punishment can feel cathartic. I’ve certainly spent time imagining all the ways in which my own abuser might be punished. But ultimately, him dying, or being jailed, or publicly shamed, isn’t actually going to help me nor will it stop more kids from getting hurt in the future.

I don’t want more prisoners. I want free therapy with trauma informed counselors. I want better sex education for young children that teaches them about consent and body autonomy. And I want a society in which I can openly discuss my trauma, or at least as openly as yall discuss the evils of pedophiles

I think people no longer understand that "viewer discretion is advised" does not mean "vaguely bad content ahead," it means View At Your Own Discretion. As in, if you see the content going in a direction that is unsuitable for you in any way, it is your responsibility to stop viewing. Don't blame creators for your failure to listen to your own warning signs. Nobody is forcing you to finish the episode, the chapter, the sentence. That's all you.

While I love ace attorney and most of the fandom, I also think some of the fandom is a little too obsessed with Edgeworth which makes them seemingly talk some of his actions away (and some of it seems to dip into racism).

People get mad when Diego calls Mia (his girlfriend, btw) “kitten”. Of course, who would dare to do that (/sarcasm). But when Edgeworth calls Mia a “novice bimbo”, it’s okay because he’s white, I mean Japanese, I mean haha what look at Edgeworth being silly haha he’s gay he doesn’t know how to talk to women <3.

Feel free to like whatever character you want to, but please be more aware of what you’re saying and doing.
