Imagine if, instead of buying NFTs, those people “adopted” wild animals, zoo animals, or animals in rescue and rehabilitation and get to help great causes and conservation AND get cute photos and stuffed animals and updates about the animals they’re supporting.
Imagine if all the money that went into mining cryptocurrency and buying NFTs went into general conservation efforts instead, if it was used to help our planet instead of destroy it more.

“In Greek, “nostalgia” literally means “the pain from an old wound”. It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn’t a spaceship, it’s a time machine. It goes backwards and forwards, it takes us to a place where we ache to go again.”

Grow Fond of You

Pairing : Feitan x Fem!Reader
AU : Highschool AU
Word Count : 3500+ words
CW : mentions of bullying, slight violence
A/N : I was just bored so I wrote this. Fluffy Feitan. Friendly reminder that this is a modern and highschool AU where Feitan isn't a criminal, so he doesn't act much like his canon self

He felt pitied. And he didn't like that.
At first, you were just an ordinary student who happened to be in the same school as him who he didn't really know about, you were nothing more than an insignificant extra character in his life story that was already pitch black. But now, you were seen as a pest to him, a flea that refused to leave him alone even though he had signaled you thousands of times to stay as far away from him as you could. But it seemed you didn't understand, or even refused to understand.
Feitan really didn't care about the fact that he was being bullied by some of the other students. By didn't care, he always ignored their presence and words as if they never existed in the world, walking past them without giving them a single glance. All the insults they gave him about his rather small height and stature he only considered a breeze, their ridicule about him having no friends he considered as motivation to stop trying to make more friends, not that he already had someone to call one. Feitan couldn't find a good reason to pay attention to them.
Holding onto the belief that if he ignored all their attempts to ostracize him they would leave him alone only leading him to a situation where they started using violence. Feitan still considered the one punch that landed on his stomach at that time which was meant as a warning as something unimportant, and he ignorantly walked past limping down the classroom corridor with those who followed him from behind, getting angry because of his impertinence to ignore their serious warning.
That was when he met you.
He watched you running down the corridor with a warning shout at the bullies with a frown on his face because he didn't understand why you needed to scream so loud. He only realized you were protecting him when you started to brake right between him and the bully with your back to him. You expressing your opposition to bullying only made the bullies and Feitan sick, and without a word Feitan walked away leaving you alone there, hoping the same thing wouldn't happen for the second time.
Feitan could breathe a sigh of relief when he no longer heard your voice as he walked out of the school gates. He imagined how he'd have to ignore thos people the next day, and plan what dinner he'd have for tonight without thinking about you at all. He didn't even bother to wonder about your name. Doesn't matter, he thought. He only needed half a year to graduate after all, he just had to tough himself up for a little longer.
His plan just fell apart when he saw who was leaning with her hands folded on her chest in the morning in front of his locker. Noticing Feitan's arrival, you pushed yourself out of the locker to stand up straight and Feitan could see how your eyes were lit up in joy.
He thought you were just mistaken, that you were actually waiting for your friend who happened to have the same appearance as him, but after exchanging glances in silence for about 30 seconds, Feitan realized that you didn't mistake him for someone else. What did you want? Who were you? What were you doing here? Why did you bother waiting for him there? Many of the questions in his head disappeared as quickly as they came up, and he simply ignored your attempts to introduce yourself by opening his locker right in your face, nearly ramming the metal locker door in your face if you didn't take a step back in the right time.
"Hey that's rude." You chuckled as you walked to the side to have a good look at Feitan. "I'm ______, may I know your name?"
You flinched when Feitan shut his locker door hard as a signal of irritation and turned his locker key before shoving it into his pocket. His piercing eyes stared at you in dislike before walking away from you, leaving you hanging by your introduction.
Feitan could hear you huffed in annoyance before walking in the opposite direction from him. He slowed down his already slow pace to turn around and watched you walk by stomping your feet a little in each step. He raised an brow, confused.
What a weird girl.
Despite his indifference, he still heard what you said when you introduced yourself earlier, subconsciously chanting your name in his head as a mental note to avoid anyone with that name no matter what. He already had a lot of problems at school, he didn't need the extra odd girl who might add to his troubles.
Just as he turned in the corridor that would lead him to his classroom, it was there that he saw a group of people he recognized as the people who had ganged up on him yesterday in the corridor. He immediately avoided their eye contact, knowing full well that his actions were in vain because they had seen his arrival. At that time the students were still quite busy roaming the corridors because the bell hadn't rung yet, and Feitan knew they were just a bunch of cowards who didn't dare to do anything if many people might see their bad deeds. But apparently that didn't stop them from pulling Feitan's black hair, forcing Feitan to stop walking and look up to see those who were much taller than him. Feitan only let out a low whimper as he felt his scalp sting before glaring at the person who grabbed his hair. His purple gaze was returned by more pairs of eyes staring at him in annoyance.
"You-"
Again, Feitan heard that annoying scream from the other side of the corridor then felt the person release his grip on his hair. Feitan brushed his hair back before looking back, to find you standing there with your phone in your hand with a proud face.
"I've got the proof, you guys better leave him alone or this photo will reach the principal." You said as you put your hands on your hips. Feitan snorted in annoyance and followed the gang's footsteps leaving the two of you. Feitan took the time to look at your face that was exuding a triumphant aura, looking proudly at Feitan who only gave you a disgusted look.
"Why would you do that? You only made them angrier." Your face immediately fell into confusion with Feitan's question. You expected any answer other than Feitan's words just now which was completely unexpected. He patiently waited for you to properly digest what he just said, so that you would understand that it was better for you to get out of his way and not meddle in his matters anymore. He really thought you had understood what he meant when your eyes seemed to have come back from your reverie.
"Are you afraid they might attack you when I'm not there?" Now it was Feitan's turn to be confused and your word ended as the bell rang. You gave him an ear to ear smile that felt warm to anyone but Feitan who just thought of that as a stupid smile then walked backwards in the opposite direction from him. "Don't worry! I'll visit you to your class at lunch time so they won't bother you!"
That was completely the opposite of what Feitan wanted you to catch. He had thought you were a stupid girl before but he didn't think you could be that stupid and naive. He didn't want to bother calling you who had run to your class to clear up the misunderstanding because he prefered to walk back to his class. Cool, his problem just increased by one. Very good.
And there you were, peeking stupidly and idiotically from his classroom window before the lunch bell even rang, waving at Feitan who was trying so hard to ignore you from his seat. Perhaps the option of skipping lunch was the best option and Feitan did exactly that, staying still when the lunch bell rang and his classmates had rushed out of the classroom. There was no way he would meet and deal with you again, he'd rather hold the hunger in his stomach and eat when he got home.
It seemed like his plan was going well because when he glanced at his classroom window, he couldn't find you anywhere. He still didn't want to go out though, so he started to put his black jacket which he had folded neatly on his desk and intending to sleep. Feitan was on the verge of falling into a dream but a loud knock on his desk made his eyelids open wide again followed by someone's panting sound.
"Hah... I'm... Finally... Hah... Here... Hah... Sorry...." Feitan clenched his fists hard when he recognized whose voice it was then pounded his desk while bringing himself to sit up straight again only to see you who had pulled up a chair to sit across from him with a lunch box on his desk. His eyes twitched in annoyance as he brought his eyes to meet yours.
"What do you think you're doing??" You opened the lid of your lunchbox as you hummed to respond to Feitan's rude question without looking at him.
"What do you think I'm doing?" You asked back and slowly pushed your lunchbox towards him. "Sharing my lunch with you of course! Hasn't it looked obvious enough?"
Feitan just looked at the chopsticks you handed him with disgust then looked at your lunch box again. He felt humiliated, he felt pitied by you. He really didn't need your pity, right now what he really wanted wasn't to eat food that looked delicious in front of him but to hurt you. At least hit you once to vent his irritation with your companion. But just as he was about to turn down your offer in the rudest way he could think of, you pulled the chopsticks back again and stared at him in bewilderment.
"Do you not like omelette? I have a strawberry milk if you would prefer that."
•••
Since then, you'd always been around him, tailing him like a chihuahua who couldn't stop talking and getting excited, and it made him irritated and frustrated until at some point he thought you'd given him a migraine. The longer you clung to him, not the more he got used to your existence, but only made him want to beat you up even more. Feitan really had run out of ways to shut you up and kick you out and in the end just let you follow him everywhere during school. But Feitan wasn't insensitive either, since you followed him everywhere, for some unknown reason the bullies were nowhere to be seen, even when there were gatherings in the school hall.
As the days go by, you were also more and more attuned to Feitan's character who didn't like noise and hated your noisy behavior, and you switched to being a little more quiet than usual. At least that was what Feitan guessed with your constant change in behavior and he didn't intend to bother asking you about that either. Your change was indeed a good thing for him, but he still preferred you to really leave him alone.
Until you completely gone.
The first day, he celebrated a day without you after school by treating himself to his favorite ramen in the cafeteria. For a day, no one bothered him, neither the bullies nor you. He could finally enjoy his solitude quietly reading a book in the library, going to the cafeteria or sleeping in class without worrying about you knocking on his classroom window to get his attention. For the first time, he felt that God did not hate him and cursed him to meet constant misfortune in his life. For the first time, life was calm and enjoyable.
The second day, he still celebrated his second day without any disturbance, although not as happy as before. Going to school and not seeing you waiting for him at the locker felt like a dream come true, and in the end he didn't have to be mad at someone to tell them to shut up anymore. He of course still ordered the spicy ramen he ordered yesterday as a celebration, with the book he'd just borrowed from the library in his left hand and chopsticks in his right. Even at the end of the day, he began to question the sudden peace and on a whim he would never admit, he visited your class just to meet your classmate without you there.
The third day, he began to feel uneasy. His plan to completely shut you out by repeatedly saying rude things to you was meant to stop you from being around him, but he never thought that his plan would end flawlessly. You really seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth, and would never appear in his eyes again. Feitan knew he should be happy that you were no longer here following him like a lost puppy. Your existence was so suffocating and frustrating, he knew for sure he should be happy of this, but instead,he felt lonely.
Maybe you were just sick. You might be sick cause of one thing or another that he didn't care about, no, he shouldn't care. But after waiting for 2 weeks and holding himself back from asking your classmates about you, Feitan couldn't wait any longer and finally decided to swallow his pride and visit your class at lunch time. Being a person who wasn't used to socializing with anyone but you, Feitan found himself frozen in front of your class, busy with his own thoughts figuring out how to properly ask questions without getting any suspicion from your classmates. He didn't want that when you came back you'd think you'd won his heart and assume Feitan was starting to care about you, no, that wouldn't happen no matter what.
He was just starting to make up his mind to ask one of your classmates when someone came out of the classroom, his eyes immediately locked onto Feitan's figure who had been standing there for almost half an hour. This made Feitan start to regret his decision many times in his head. The girl who wasn't much taller than Feitan looked at Feitan up and down judgingly before giving him a cold smile, causing Feitan to also glare at her with a big annoying question mark in his eyes.
"Well if it's not Feitan Portor from 3 B." The girl teased Feitan while leaning against the door frame of her classroom, beaming him a mischievous smile. Feitan frowned, how did this woman know him if he didn't know her himself? Reading his confused expression, the girl with back-length hair chuckled softly. "I'm one of ______'s close friends. So, what brings you here?" She asked teasingly as if she had already knew the purpose of Feitan visiting her class.
Two choices, he could go back to class and stop being curious about how you were with his ego that would remain intact, or still asked about you but at the risk of having his ego trampled on because this girl looked annoying from the looks of her. Knowing that he didn't have much time, Feitan chose the second option even though his head was already starting to be having a war about the stupid choice he never thought he would make.
She laughed again. "Don't bother, I'll answer your questions. _____ is sick, pretty bad actually. She probably won't be back at school until next week." It was clear that her face was no longer showed mischief but seriousness and concern. "She forced herself in yesterday so her condition is getting worse than it should be. You should see her if you really care about her."
Care? Feitan felt sick to hear that but a small part of his heart couldn't deny that he did care a little about you. It was ridiculous because at first Feitan wanted to eradicate you as if you were a disease to be avoided but now he himself was looking for your whereabouts. He probably wouldn't have the courage to meet you when you were healthy and might just straight bury himself in the ground. Even though he kept trying to deny about his concern for you, he just accepted when your friend grabbed Feitan's hand and put something in his palm.
"Her address. Now go to your class it's almost past lunch time." She went back to her class and shut the door before him.
•••
Feitan couldn't believe this. Every cell in his body also couldn't believe that at that moment Feitan was standing in front of the address Feitan believed to be yours with a can of health drink in his hand. He cursed himself as he pressed your doorbell once, hoping no one would open the door so he could just go straight back to his house. But the clear footsteps behind the door dashed his hopes, and in no time a middle-aged woman appeared before him. Feitan felt a little suffocated by the awkward situation that arose between the two of them but the woman smiled when she saw what Feitan was holding tightly in his hands. Her smile made Feitan make a personal note in his head about his new discovery about your sweet smile that you actually got from your mother.
"Are you possibly Feitan?"
He didn't give a damn about your current situation for a second, why did you need to tell everyone in the world about him??
Feitan found himself at a loss for words but the woman spoke again. "_____ is inside if you want to see her."
"No need. Please just give this to her." Feitan forced a smile that was obvious to the woman, but it was his efforts that mattered. The woman took the drink from Feitan's hand and then looked at him calmly. "Are you sure you don't want to see her? She seems to have missed you since yesterday." Feitan's face uncontrollably turned red for no apparent reason, and it made Feitan scratch his neck in nervousness.
"I ... have something else to do. Good afternoon!" With that, Feitan bowed and fast walked away from your house, unaware of you who quietly peeked from the curtains of your room, watching all the events in your yard with a suppressed smile and a low chuckle.
•••
Another day without you in his locker, another day with him tangled with his own feelings. He'd been acting erratically lately, fidgeting for no reason and even turning to look at the window where you usually appeared to bother him even though he knew full well you wouldn't be there to bother him. Something Feitan never imagined he wouldn't get used to, even though it was something he had been craving for a long time.
At this point, he no longer tried to reject his heart's words and began to accept himself as it turned out that he was starting to grow attached and fond of you, with your noise that he never thought would make him comfortable, or with your lunchboxes that you were always willing to share with him. At that time you told him that all the food you always brought were all your own cooking, and with that Feitan could tell that you weren't a good cook. The crazy thought of him wanting to give you a soup of his cooking that tasted so much better than yours had crossed his head more than once, made him even more frustrated of himself. It didn't help at all with him having no other friends besides you, that if he dared to call you his friend after the bad things he had said and done to you.
Maybe he would try to apologize to you later. At least that was all he currently thought would be enough to calm his rumbling thoughts.
But the rumbling of his mind immediately collapsed when he heard a soft knock on his classroom window. He nearly broke his neck with the speed he turned towards the window, his eyes widening when he saw you waving at him cheerfully while chuckling softly, a sight he had missed for a long time. He never thought you'd be back there because you weren't in his locker this morning, but he didn't think about it too long. A slight smirk grew into a soft chuckle from Feitan's mouth followed by a blush on his cheeks. He couldn't stop himself from waving back to you, and chuckled when he saw how shocked you were when you saw him waving his hand back.
Maybe he should stop denying the fact that he had fallen in love with you.

Teach me your language…
Word Count: 852 words
Pairing: Feitan Portor x Reader
Summary: Feitan has always been a person with a few things that he wants to keep private. Like his language. Although no one else questions him, you do. You try to compromise with him with an umbrella. He thanks you in a way you didn’t expect.
⚠️Warnings: Feitan is a bit ooc⚠️
Feitan always had a bit of trouble with speaking. I could understand what he said, but he sometimes jumbled up his words. I know that he spoke another language before, but I don’t know what it was. I’ve tried to persuade him to teach me his language, yet he always refuses. So here I am, trying to make another attempt.
“Feitan, whatcha doing,” I asked sitting down next to him. He was messing around with his umbrella. “Why you annoying me again,” he groaned rolling his eyes. “There’s nothing to do, Machi, Paku, and Shizuku are all busy,” I said scooting a bit closer to him. “What about the others,” he asked with a blank expression.
“Well Uvogin and Nobunaga are on patrol, Franklin and Phinks are also busy, and Shalnark is hacking into the new place the boss told us about,” I said with a frown. “So you come to bother me?” He asked once again. “No, I was wondering if you wanted to go get ice cream with me,” I smiled. “No,” he immediately said.
“Please Feitan, it’s so boring,” I pleaded. “Go ask others,” “Did you not listen to what I said,” I stated slightly frustrated. Suddenly an idea came to my head, “I’ll get you a new umbrella,” he looked at me as a way to let me continue. “Your umbrella is getting old, it already has holes and our enemies will suspect that you have something hidden,” I remarked.
“For an idiot like you, you have a point,” he replied. I gave him an annoyed face before getting up. “Last chance Fei, I could buy you an umbrella right now and have you be less suspicious, just for the cost of you going to eat ice cream with me,” I said. He sighed before thinking for a few seconds.
“Fine,” he said before getting up. I mentally celebrated before grabbing my coat. “Where are you two going,” Phinks interrogated. “To the ice cream shop,” I exclaimed with joy. Phinks turned to Feitan before smiling cockily. “Didn’t know you could have a date Feitan,” Feitan tsked at the taller man.
“Not a date, she just offered something that I wanted,” “Yeah right,” Phinks responded before walking off. We exited our hideout and started walking. “Feitan, what’s your original language,” I asked as we were walking to town. “Mind your business,” he said. “Come on, I just want to be friends,” I said crossing my hands.
“You become friends with others,” he responded. I rolled my eyes at him playfully. “Is it Korean,” I asked. He didn’t say anything, but his expression said that I was wrong. “Is it Vietnamese,” I asked once again. “Shut up before I sew your lips,” I gasped at his statement.
Even though I couldn’t see his mouth, I knew that he was smiling because of the slight squint in his eyes. We almost arrived at the ice cream shop. “So what flavor do you want,” I asked. “I no want ice cream, I just agreed to come,” I sighed, “You only want your umbrella don’t you,” he nodded. “Ok then, just stay outside here, I’m going to buy my ice cream,”
After buying my ice cream, Feitan almost immediately dragged me by my sweater to an umbrella shop. I didn’t even know there was an umbrella shop. I softly laughed at the idea of him paying attention to a certain shop. We started to look around. He picked up some before putting them back.
It looks like he isn’t interested in anything right now. I decided to say something since he seemed in a good mood. “Fei,” He hummed. “Since you don’t want to tell me your original language then…” I hesitated. He looked at me. “Teach me your language,” I finally said.
“No,” he simply said. My eyes widened, “Oh come on Fei,” I groaned in annoyance. “I will teach you something if you buy me umbrella,” he said. “Fine,” I rolled my eyes. I stopped when I saw a certain umbrella. It was a maroon color. Feitan also stopped to inspect it. He grabbed it and saw that there was space for his sword to fit.
“You like it don’t you,” I asked. He hummed in response. Suddenly I had an idea. “I’ll buy this one for you, but I want to have it for a few days. “Why,” he asked. “I want to paint a skull on it so that it can match your mask,” I pointed at his mask. He hummed. “Okay whatever,” he said.
I smiled softly before taking it to the clerk. I bought the umbrella and then we exited the store. “Xièxiè nǐ,” Feitan suddenly said. I looked at him with a questioning expression. “What,” I asked confused. “You wanted to learn, no?” he responded. I smiled at him.
“So what does that mean,” I asked. “Thank you,” he replied. My face slightly felt warm at his comment. “You’re welcome,” I said. I guess he’s finally warming up to me. I continued to eat my ice cream, still thinking about the man walking next to me.
(A/N: I’m sorry if what I spelt in Chinese was wrong. I just looked it up on a translator.)

I’m a very messy person who tries VERY HARD to keep a clean home. It’s probably ADHD. Anyway, the best advice I ever saw about it was:
“Instead of changing your habits to keep clean, look at where the clutter is. Now put a bin under it.”
I tend to remove my socks at the computer and then there’s a mountain of socks on the floor? I put a small bin and now it looks tidy. There are piles of junk mail on the table near my front door because I can never bring them to the recycling bin? I put a smaller recycling bin there. Etc etc.
Another trick that helps me immensely are BOXES.
The bathroom sink is covered in small bottles and all sorts of products? I got small plastic crates and I put them over the toilet lid, one for my stuff, the other for my roomate’s. The linen closet is just piles of things that fall when you open the door? Baby I just got a bunch of baskets and I will separate them by function.
I have baskets and small boyxes for: my cleaning products; my bird’s toys and stuff; my workout accessories; my meds and daily skincare products; my tools; and pretty much all my art stuff.
It still takes some effort to keep everything in its place, but having everything in a box still looks tons better than having everything on the counter, and it’s so better for the mental health.
