WELL,    THAT  WAS  UNEXPECTED,    TO  SAY  THE  LEAST.      He almost did a full double—take,  one hand on his scarf as if he could conceal himself behind it,  and in doing so,  protect himself from the taller girl and whatever she may have in mind.  Yet it seemed all she had in her heart was the sincere intention to extend the hand of kindness.

SHIN  IS  A  LITTLE  SURPRISED  WHEN  SARA’S  FRIEND  BUSTLES  UP  TO  HIM,    ALL  ENERGY  AND  VIM.      After all,  it can hardly be said that they’re all on the best possible terms,  and the way Jou is glowing says she’s not approaching him out of any malice.  He’s easily intimidated by the vigor of others,  and the fact that she’s smiling makes it even more strange,  with her looking at him like she’s absolutely thrilled to have caught up to him.  Immediately,  he’s on guard.  The strange circumstances only make him moreso.

“ Ah,  you.  If you’re looking for Sara,  I haven’t seen her. ”

He’d definitely let you come if you were my boyfriend, too.❞

★       rantaro’s   compliment   hardly   helped   with   the   blush   that   was   present   on   shuichi’s   face –   if   anything,   it   clearly   darkened   in   response   to   the   compliment.  he   had   never    been   the   type   to   have   a   lot   of   confidence –  if   anything,   he   was   pretty   sure   he’d   never   be   kissed   like   this –   especially   not   by   someone   like   rantaro.   rantaro   seemed   like   someone   with   high   standards –   to   an   extent   that   left   shuichi   puzzled   as   to   why   he   was   the   one   he’d   chosen   to   persue. 

★      not   that   he   wasn’t   flattered –  he   was.   he   just,   didn’t   get   it,   above   all   else.   “   ah –   i’m  –  t - thank   you .. ? “   he   didn’t   know   how   to   place   his   words   for   a   moment,   face   burning   hot   thanks   to   the   blush.   when   rantaro   mentions   it   meaning   something,   shuichi   takes   a   moment   to   try   and   recompose   himself,    before   he   tries   to   reassure   rantaro.  

★      “   n-no  ,  it’s   okay .. !  don’t   apologize ..  it –   it   could   mean   something .. ?   if   y-you   want!  “   he   offered   it   nervously,   hopeful   that   maybe   they   could   make   something   out   of   this.   shuichi   always   struggled   with   his   confidence –   but   he   was   hoping   that   maybe –  he   could   make   this   something.   he   liked   rantaro –   it   was   obvious   rantaro   liked   him   too –   who   knows   what   they   could   make   out   of   this?
