Dead siblings, a married off sister, a sickly mother and unlikely circumstances meant that Arrana has been forced into acting as Lady Umber. A situation that she never could have imagined in her wildest dreams, being in this situation/ It was an idea that Arrana detested. Her only right by birth was the right to be married off to a Lord from the North to gain an advantageous link for House Umber. It felt out of place for her to greet a guest as Lady Umber, but it was something she’d have to get used to, at least until small Ned was old enough to be married.

Approaching her guest the dark haired female smiled, she had no wish for the occasion to be sour despite what had happened for her to be the one receiving them as her Lord father might have in the past. Then again she doubted that she could ever greet anyone like her father, who stood at almost seven feet tall, had.

Arrana is named for Arrana Stark, wife of Osric Umber whose mother, Serena Stark happened to be married to an Umber as well. It is a name that she wears with pride, although she most likely would keep with family tradition of having a Jon or an Osric, she would think twice about naming a child after a famous Stark to simply curry favour with her liege lords, on that note, she has serious doubts that she will ever go south for marriage and as such cannot picture a situation in which she isn’t loyal to the Starks. Even in Season 6.
