i absolutely love your doll dress up games and i’m desperate to play the vintage western 2 version but it seems to not load on doll divine or dress up doll? it’s just stuck on the pastel loading square with no text, all your other games are working no bother so wanted to make sure you knew! thank you for your beautiful games!

Another person has sent an ask sort of about this I assume? And idk what the problem would be, it works for me on chrome and firefox 🤷

BUT I also have no control over the game from here as I'm not the one who uploads it to either website, I just make the photoshop doc that gets uploaded, so if something isn't loading there nothing I can do from my end!

With the new color palettes thing in meiker I would consider going in and adding in new colors for at least all the genetic parts for all my old games (hair/eye color/lips, stuff like that) just cause its such a game changer tbh

NOT anytime soon tho probably, I'd want to finish the new game I'm working on first before I even think about attempting that lol

new color palette system in meiker is pure heaven. look at all the swatches I can have for the hair colors. with like 1000+ LESS layers in photoshop than I used to have to use for just 15 hair colors INCREDIBLE

This update pretty much doubles the size of the game, you can move facial features and accessories around now, and there are some added swatches to a handful of the old items.

Also has a lot more backgrounds I'm really happy with :D

HEY. SOMETHING REALLY COOL HAPPENED.

A little while ago Katy Townsend, Cait's voice actor in Fallout 4, asked me if I'd agree to let her sell prints of this old drawing I did of Cait. WHICH IS CRAZY RIGHT. Still feels surreal to even type it out o-o So I redrew it and offered her this new version instead for my own sanity lmao BUT IT'S HAPPENING PEOPLE.

-No nothing new to report about those (assuming you're talking about the vintage cowgirl and 60s/70s ones). Right now you have as much information on when those will be posted as me basically ;o;

-Workin on something new right now. It's still early stages so idk when it'll be done. like a month or 2 maybe? Who can say o-o Here's a very small cropped preview lol

-I don't know honestly. As far as adding more clothes go, I feel like there's already an ok amount of sweaters and shirt/jacket combos that would fit that requirement? perhaps? I could add another skirt or 2 that's longer…. But realistically I don't know if I want to go back into this game to add things at this point. I would definitely consider going in and adjusting the hijab options that are already in game to cover the neck tho

-UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUhhhh well when I first started getting on the internet it was like just barbie and pollypocket.com, and half of the games on there were dress up games lol (before internet, Barbie: Magic Hair Styler cd-rom my beloved, i'm OLD lmao) found dressupgames.com in middle school if I remember correctly, and I just never stopped playing them I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Think I just always sorta wanted to make one (since I got more into drawing at least), I like drawing a new person every time rather than the same characters over and over, which lends itself to dress up games I think. And the style I liked to draw in looked like the dress up games I already liked playing. Once I found picrew and meiker and I could make one without learning about like….coding and stuff….it was like a dream come true lol (this question was very nice thank you for asking it 🥹)

making art is labour too, if youre aware. you as an example and other artists are putting in work for games that get hosted on meiker. im actually coming from a place of concern because meiker keeps changing their rules that seem to profit them. yes youre basically able not to learn code but they are also able to not hire actual freelancers, which they would have to pay.

my god. i was like literally just talking about it, not even getting snappy but the instant bootlicking is a bit wild.

mentioning yandere dev because he scammed people by asking them to volunteer and then take away the rights of their art. your art and other people art is worth more than paying for it. also if they charge you for your own game, its not free? they chain it to their platform, where you dont get a penny?

Fully aware making art is work thanks 🫡 Must a website make zero profit ever, and be payed for and maintained and improved strictly out of the owners pocket forever to remain Pure to you? A website making any kind of profit to continue running does not make it evil and manipulative.

I also just straight up disagree about all these rule changes you have complaints about. That is not a thing that is happening. Meiker benefits from having people add their games to the site, and creators (of ALL skill levels) benefit from being able to easily make games and have them uploaded and hosted for free. & I'm assuming the vast majority of people uploading games to the site would never have attempted making a dress up game of their own without meiker's tools.

THAT is the point of the website. It lets ANYONE make games, not just a small handful of artists that would be hired for a curated dress up game site. That is not exploitation. If you can't understand that difference then I don't even know what to tell you.

For your sake I truly hope this is just somebody trying to get a rise on purpose and you don't actually believe what you're saying. Like think critically for one second come on man

meiker is charging a hundred dollars now to get your own game, which was free once. also youre basically doing labor for free for them.

I just don't care if the site makes money in whatever way to run, that's how websites work, I'm using their service. A service that is free for anyone to use, both player and creator. Do you think I want to have to learn to code and run and pay for my own website to be able to make the games completely separately on my own? No. I wouldn't even be making these games if sites like meiker and picrew didn't exist.

Hello, I hope you're doing well!

I was just wondering when it comes to your commissions how much detail do you want/prefer to be provided in the description of what the person wants? Do you prefer to be given more artistic freedom with outfit/pose details or do you like when people give detailed lists of what they want?

Also do you prefer art references of a character or is something like a photo of a face-claim easier to work with?

I usually prefer the more details/ref you have the better I think. Mostly just because I don't know your character as well as you do, so if you tell me exactly what you'd like then it's not something that'll risk being be out of character.

I don't mind coming up with things on my own of course, but giving me some examples to jump off of at least is always helpful.

As far as the art/drawn reference vs. actual face claim photo, I have no preference for that one! Either one works, or both!

How many slots are you opening for the dress-up commissions?

Tentative 5 or so? I don't have a hard limit on slots for these commissions cause I feel like they'll fill slower anyway. If 5 slots are filled I can open a waitlist if needed :)
