no way i just saw people in tiktok comments crying screaming throwing up at the idea of aslan being a jesus figure. worsties the lion literally dies to save edmund (the sinner) and then rises from the dead. he tells the pevensies he can be found under a different name in our world. what else could this have meant

It really makes you sit and think that it took the bloodiest war on "American" soil to accomplish the bare minimum belief of "Black people shouldn't be slaves", and even then it was an incidental outcome. We would literally still be slaves if Lincoln and his advisors didn't think it was necessary to break the Confederacy. It was THAT close. That's how badly white supremacy (and the capitalism it cycles with) wanted to maintain itself here.

There has not been a single forward movement in our Emancipation or Civil Rights that didn't face extreme violence and require organization and the threat of violence to fight against.

So when people seem to think that "we can do this nonviolently", I chafe because it makes me wonder if we're even looking at the same history. Kwame Ture said it best; in order for nonviolence to work your enemy has to have a conscience. We can be nonviolent all we want but we are not gonna get that back 😬 sorry.

I had a very young kid with a hereditary heart condition come in today to be seen. My colleague excitedly told him that I play “that ‘dungeons and dragons’ game just like you do!”

The kid deadpans me with “I DM for 8 people who keep splitting the party, I think that’s why I’m really here.”

very strange dynamic developing between my boyfriend and my friend who he has never met. friend found out i had a boyfriend and immediately began this bit where he claims he's going to make my boyfriend into a kind of ineffectual puppet king and install himself as a scheming advisor who is the one really pulling the strings. i told boyfriend this and he said "i would love to be a malevolent dictator with your friend as my evil advisor." i related this to my friend and he said i don't get to be boyfriend's evil queen consort because he, the evil advisor, will not allow it. i asked boyfriend if he would choose me as his evil queen consort and he said of course he would. my friend has also been demoted from evil advisor to scheming eunuch. these two have never met but they will on tuesday so we'll have to see how that goes
