       school was undoubtedly ella’s favorite time of year . how else did she get to meet dozens of new students ? how else did she get a dozen new chances to make a difference in lives ? each past year , it was far too impossible to contain her excitement . and this year was certainly no different .  ❝ hmm ? oh yes ! definitely ! i took the liberty of memorizing the campus layout , and the dorm partners . just give me your name , and i can walk you there ! ❞

she insists , going to take hold of the precariously - balanced package with a spin before tucking it securely away in her enchanted bag ( a gift from her mother her first year here to use as a bookbag ) . there ! now it was safe and sound .       ❝ i’m ella , by the way ! ella charmont , daughter of the enchantress . ❞

     &&.  * AMELISE .              messy hair falls from betwixt pencils shoved into a bun on top her head . blue eyes glint in the sunlight as she squints, a box propped between her hip and her arm - biting her lower lip to concentrate . in a quick whirl she turns to the person walking to her left - box almost sliding completely to the ground in the manuver . ‘ hi - oh sorry, shoot - sorry . hello. ’ she straightens after a moment, box teetering in her grasp as she grins at the newcomer . ‘ do you happen to know where the dorm buildings are ? ’

       ❝ i think one of the muse’s children is testing their stereo system out . ❞ the blonde is quick to reassure the other student , her voice sweet as her smile . ever so carefully her fingers wrap cautiously around his palm , taking hold of his hand and giving it a gentle shake . there , no need for him to be nervous around her !  ❝ it’s perfectly alright , julian hook , i’m ella . it’s delightful to meet you . i think i might have some extra earplugs if those might help ? ❞

&&. * JULIAN . the music bounced around in his skull as he placed his things on the bedside table. he had unpacked quickly - having few items to call his own could be beneficial after all - and now stood in the middle of the room arranging and rearranging items out of pure anxiety . it takes him three tries to walk through the door to the hallway - another leftover from his childhood, not knowing many people made you terrified of talking to anyone new - but finally he makes it out, looking around curiously. 

‘ Where is that music coming from ? ’ he asks the first person he sees, realizing belatedly that he might come off as rude . ‘ sorry - I’m Julian. ’ he extends his hand halfway before letting it drop awkwardly . ‘ julian hook . ’

ella had a very good life , ever since she can remember . she wanted for nothing , had all the books she could dream of , always went to bed with a full stomach on the softest sheets ; knowing that she would wake safely and repeat her happiness tomorrow .

she grew up with free reign throughout the realm she lived in , though not for her parentage but because she has a reputation for being sweet and kind to anyone she comes across . she longs for nothing than to make her friends happy and enjoy the life she was blessed with .

she has but one goal once she’s graduated from drearwood , and that’s to use her magic as her mother did : for the good of others , and to help them achieve their best potential in any way that she can .
