2025 NFL MOCK DRAFT
Apr. 24, 2025
ROUND ONE
1. TENNESSEE - QB Cam Ward (Miami)
Cam Ward isn’t the talent that Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels were, but the Titans need to take this risk. They seem locked into this pick, so the draft begins at #2.
2. CLEVELAND - WR/CB Travis Hunter (Colorado)
The Browns signed Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco – and still have Deshaun Watson, who may be available to suck later this season. So they don’t have to reach for Shedeur Sanders here. The team is sufficiently freaked out by Abdul Carter’s injury, so they opt for Hunter. He’s unlikely to play both ways as a rookie, but once he masters the wide receiver position in the pros, he’ll probably end up playing corner down the line (in certain packages).
3. NY GIANTS - DE Abdul Carter (Penn State) +
Somehow, GM Joe Schoen kept his job, despite paying Daniel Jones instead of Saquon Barkley or Xavier McKinney. But he does seem to draft well. Having the best player in this year’s draft fall to #3 means another good draft might be underway.
4. CHICAGO (PROJ. TRADE W/ NE) - RB Ashton Jeanty (Boise State)
The Bears know they have to get ahead of Jacksonville to have a shot at Jeanty. He’s one of the very few blue-chippers in this class. New England gets Chicago’s 1st and 2nd rounders this year.
5. JACKSONVILLE - TE Tyler Warren (Penn State)
It’s highly unusual for a tight end to go in the top 5, but the Jags don’t trust he’ll be there if they trade down. An incredible player appears at an incredible position of need, so they take the next Jeremy Shockey at #5 and let draftniks make fun of them.
6. LAS VEGAS - DT Mason Graham (Michigan)
Graham is a poor man’s Aidan Hutchinson: most of the enthusiasm but less of the natural ability. The Raiders consider trading back but don’t receive the offer they’re looking for. Instead, they give Maxx Crosby the extra piece he needs to lead the league in sacks. He and Graham will be hard to stop.
7. NY JETS - OT Armand Membou (Missouri)
The Jets coveted Tyler Warren, but now that he’s gone, they fall back to the other player they covet. Membou will slide right into right tackle, his natural position, and complete their o-line. Now let’s see if Justin Fields can stay in the pocket long enough to make it worth their while.
8. NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/CAR) - OT Will Campbell (LSU)
The Patriots traded down to #10, but once they see Membou go off the board, they don’t want to wait anymore for their left tackle of the future. The Pats give up 4th and 5th rounders this year, but get back a 7th from Carolina.
9. NEW ORLEANS - DE/OLB Mykel Williams (Georgia)
The Saints pass on quarterback (at least in this round) and bring in help for their edge rushers as they transition to a 3-4.
10. CAROLINA (PROJ. TRADE W/NE THRU CHI) - WR Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona)
I’m higher on McMillan than others. He ran a 4.48 in his pro day 40-yard dash, which is much faster than expected. His greatness at contested catches, his size and now his straight-line speed suggest he’s Top 5 material. He needs to do some growing up, that’s all.
11. SAN FRANCISCO - OLB Jalon Walker (Georgia)
Nick Bosa has a few years left in him and Drake Jackson is an upcoming talent, but there is very little depth along the edge in San Fran.
12. DALLAS - OT Kelvin Banks, Jr. (Texas)
The Cowboys like to draft players in the trenches in the first round, and a local Texas kid falls to them. Tyler Guyton was always a better prospect at guard, so he can move to replace the retired Zach Martin and make room for Banks.
13. MIAMI - CB Jahdae Barron (Texas)
The team badly needs a left tackle – and their hearts break when Banks goes off the board. They’re too concerned about the medical red flag on Josh Simmons to pull the trigger here.
Outside of Jalen Ramsey, there isn’t a lot of talent left in Miami at corner (and Ramsey is rumored to be traded before draft day!).
14. INDIANAPOLIS - TE Colston Loveland (Michigan)
The Colts badly wanted Tyler Warren but they don’t have a history of moving up the draft board. They settle for Loveland, who satisfies their desire for an all-purpose tight end.
15. ATLANTA - DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)
The Falcons have ignored the trenches far too long, especially on the defensive side. The team posted the second-fewest sacks in the league, and that was before they released standout DT Grady Jarrett. They need to address this position pronto.
16. ARIZONA - WR Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State)
Wouldn’t it be great to pair Egbuka with Marvin Harrison, Jr., again? This could be an effortless transition.
17. CINCINNATI - DE/OLB Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M)
The Bengals lost one edge rusher to retirement and might be losing another to a forced trade. Stewart didn’t have eye-popping sack numbers but he did get routine pressure on quarterbacks - plus he’s an asset against the run.
18. SEATTLE - S Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina)
Safety isn’t a huge need but after that Combine performance, it’s hard to imagine him falling this far.
19. TAMPA BAY - LB Jihaad Campbell (Alabama) +
LaVonte David is back for one more year, but it’s time to look beyond the likely Hall of Famer. The team brings in Campbell to see first-hand how a pro like David prepares and handles himself. It’s Campbell’s defense after that.
20. NY GIANTS (PROJ. TRADE W/DEN) - QB Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss)
The Giants feel the desperation and lunge for Dart ahead of Pittsburgh. He’s unlikely to start until the team flops under Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but that could still mean half a season’s worth of action before he takes over officially in 2026. The Giants give up picks this year in rounds 2, 3 and 5.
21. PITTSBURGH - QB Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)
So far, the Steelers have done nothing to solve their starting QB problem, but likely Aaron Rodgers will come in to help for a year at best. Having Sanders on the bench, studying the position, might pay dividends for Pittsburgh down the line.
22. LA CHARGERS - RB Omarion Hampton (North Carolina)
The Bolts brought in Najee Harris, but he doesn’t have the burst that the team covets. Hampton could supplant Harris within the first month of the season if he learns his pass-blocking responsibilities soon enough.
23. GREEN BAY - G Tyler Booker (Alabama)
Protecting Jordan Love is paramount in Green Bay. Their guard play is fine but can be improved. Tyler Booker provides instant improvement inside.
24. MINNESOTA - CB Will Johnson (Michigan) +
I’m genuinely not sure who’ll be playing corner for this team. Byron Murphy, yes, but he’s better as a nickel. The Vikings need to lunge for their favorite corner coming out this year, whoever lands at 24. They’d be wise to trade up to get who they really want.
25. HOUSTON - OT Aireontae Ersery (Minnesota)
Houston seems to have traded away their entire offensive line. I can only imagine what C.J. Stroud was thinking as he saw THAT come across the NFL Network ticker. Ersery will get drafted higher than most people expect.
26. LA RAMS - C/G Grey Zabel (North Dakota State)
Limmer did an okay job at center last year, but the Rams know they need to keep Matt Stafford upright if they have any chance. Build the interior of that line any way they can.
27. BALTIMORE - NT Kenneth Grant (Michigan)
The Ravens love acquiring big guys, and they don’t get much bigger than Grant. He’s a disruptive force, even when he’s double-teamed.
28. DETROIT - DE Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College)
Detroit badly needs help getting to the quarterback. Hutchinson is likely to be healthy enough to go, but Marcus Davenport on the other side of the line can never stay healthy.
29. WASHINGTON - DE/OLB Mike Green (Marshall)
The Commanders got by with Cowboys veterans at the edge, but they could use some youth.
30. BUFFALO - WR Matthew Golden (Texas)
Even with the selection of Keon Coleman last year, the Bills could still use some deep speed in the wide receiver’s room.
31. KANSAS CITY - OT Josh Conerly, Jr. (Oregon)
The Chiefs may need to keep drafting left tackles until they finally hit on one.
32. PHILADELPHIA - S Malaki Starks (Georgia)
The Eagles can afford to sit back and take a solid player without immediate needs to address. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a Bulldog.
ROUND TWO
33. CLEVELAND - QB Jalen Milroe (Alabama)
34. DENVER (PROJ. TRADE W/NYG) - DT Derrick Harmon (Oregon)
35. TENNESSEE - DE Nic Scourton (Texas A&M)

37. LAS VEGAS - WR Luther Burden III (Missouri)

2024 NFL MOCK DRAFT
FINAL - Thursday, April 25
ROUND ONE
1 CHICAGO (FROM CAR) - QB Caleb Williams (USC)
Caleb is going #1 regardless of which team drafts him. Teams in the top-10 like Washington and New England are sure to make juicy offers. Williams is the most prized QB prospect since Andrew Luck, and once the Bears shed themselves of Justin Fields, this was a done deal.
2 WASHINGTON - QB Jayden Daniels (LSU)
The Commanders will make every attempt to trade up one spot for hometown hero Caleb Williams, but the more likely scenario is they get stuck with their 2nd choice at QB. LSU coach Brian Kelly intimated that this would be their pick at #2. Daniels takes way too many big hits, so he’s going to remind Washington of Robert Griffin III. Let’s hope his career lasts a little longer.
3 MINNESOTA (PROJ. TRADE W/NE) - QB J.J. McCarthy (Michigan)
I don’t get it, but apparently NFL GM’s love J.J. McCarthy’s potential. I’m trying to predict what WILL happen, not what I think SHOULD happen. The Vikings move aggressively and methodically up the board for their new signal caller.
Minnesota gives up their two first-rounders (11 & 23) and a 2nd-rounder next year. The Patriots - even without Belichick’s influence - continue their tradition of trading down.
4 ARIZONA - WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. (Ohio State)
The Cardinals would be profoundly lucky to be able to stay at #4 and still get the 2nd best player in the draft. Harrison seems to be custom made for NFL greatness. He’ll be the best in the league within three years… provided Kyler Murray gets his act together.
5 LA CHARGERS - WR Malik Nabers (LSU) !
Jim Harbaugh will certainly want to establish a run game in LA, so an offensive tackle might be the choice here. But Nabers is a tool too tempting to pass up. Mike Williams was a cap casualty and Keenan Allen was traded away, so they certainly have a need for him.
6 NY GIANTS - QB Drake Maye (North Carolina)
Maye is nobody’s first choice, and his bad tape is really bad. But the Giants are dead-set against Daniel Jones going into 2024 with no competition. They give Evan Neal a 2nd chance (which worked with Andrew Thomas after a lousy rookie year) and pass on Alt.
7 TENNESSEE - OT Joe Alt (Notre Dame)
The Titans commit to Will Levis and give him a valuable protector.
8 ATLANTA - EDGE Dallas Turner (Alabama)
The Falcons have addressed their offense in free agency so they can turn to the defense in the draft. Turner is the edge defender they’ve needed for years.
9 CHICAGO - WR Rome Odunze (Washington)
The new-look Bears offense will need some weapons for Caleb Williams. Keenan Allen isn’t exactly “new.” This could be a potent connection for years.
10 NY JETS - TE Brock Bowers (Georgia)
Another new toy for Aaron Rodgers. Or at least one he’ll watch from the sidelines after he ruptures another body part on the first drive. The Jets have diddly at the position and Rodgers loves his TE’s.
11 NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/MIN) - CB Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo)
The Pats have a plan for the QB position, but it doesn’t involve passing on all the great players available at #11. They’ll take their top corner off the board and pair him with Christian Gonzalez to hopefully form the best pair of young d-backs in the league. Mitchell has wowed GM’s this post-season.
12 DENVER - QB Michael Penix, Jr. (Washington) +
The Broncos couldn’t make a deal for a veteran QB and they don’t have the muscle to trade up. They’re stuck with Jarrett Stidham and Zach WIlson as their QB options so far. They may opt to trade down and still select Penix, but in this scenario, they reach for him.
13 LAS VEGAS - DT Byron Murphy II (Texas)
Signing Christian Wilkins will help the team’s interior greatly, but they still need some help there. Murphy says he’s guaranteed to be drafted in the top half of the first round. Could be BS; could be inside information.
14 NEW ORLEANS - OT Olu Fashanu (Penn State)
The Saints have a long tradition of selecting offensive linemen high in the draft, and what a great time to have so many draftable candidates at #14 - at a time of great need.
15 INDIANAPOLIS - CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama)
The Colts make the most of what they’ve got, but they really don’t got a lot. Just about every position is a position of need, and Arnold might end up being the best corner coming out this year.
16 SEATTLE - CB/S Cooper DeJean (Iowa)
DeJean may be needed at safety with the losses of Diggs and Adams, but he’s perfectly capable of playing corner. That may be his future.
17 JACKSONVILLE - OT Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State)
The Jags have been unhappy with their line play in recent years. Cam Robinson is average when he’s not on IR and Walker Little is little more than an effective back-up. Fuaga slots into RT immediately. He’s an excellent pass protector but he could benefit greatly by moving to guard eventually.
18 CINCINNATI - G/C Jackson Powers-Johnson (Oregon)
Adding Trent Brown helps fortify the outside of the Cincy o-line, but the interior still needs a hand. Ted Karras is a free agent after this season, so they draft his eventual replacement. Powers-Johnson can improve one of the guard spots until then.
19 LA RAMS - EDGE Laiatu Latu (UCLA) +
It’s been a long time since the Rams had a pick this high, so they need to make this count. They add to their youthful D-line with a boost to their pass rush.
20 PITTSBURGH - DT Jer’zhan “Johnny” Newton (Illinois)
Cam Heyward is just about done, and Larry Ogunjobi is easily replaceable. Newton teams with Keeanu Benton and DeMarvin Leal to form the Steelers line of the future.
21 WASHINGTON (PROJ. TRADE W/MIA) - OT J.C. Latham (Alabama)
The Dolphins have very few picks in this draft - including just two in the first four rounds. So they make a deal with Washington, and the Commanders select the left tackle they’ve been missing for years. They see the OT’s disappearing fast, so they package a few of their plentiful picks to move back into the 1st.
Washington deals picks #36 and 67 to move up to this spot.
22 PHILADELPHIA - WR Brian Thomas, Jr. (LSU)
A.J. Brown might have overstayed his welcome in Philly. If he’s dealt before/during day one of the draft, they might have a hard time passing up Brian Thomas.
23 NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/MIN FROM HOU THRU CLE) - QB Bo Nix (Oregon)
The Pats are fine with Jacoby Brissett as their temporary starter, but they love the potential of Nix. He developed incredible accuracy during his 47-year college career.
24 DALLAS - OL Graham Barton (Duke)
The Cowboys built their dynasty on the backs of their offensive line. Now that key parts of their 2023 line are gone, they’ll focus on a rebuild. Barton can train at all 5 position, but he’ll be immediately needed at center.
25 GREEN BAY - OT Amarius Mims (Georgia)
The Packers made the most of what they had last year, but their offensive line was in tatters. David Bakhtiari was elite, but injuries sapped his strength and now he’s gone. Time to rebuild.
26 TAMPA BAY - OT/G Troy Fautanu (Washington)
The Bucs keep getting hit along the interior of their offensive line. With Baker Mayfield getting the big bucks to re-sign with the team, he’ll need the help of someone like Troy Fautanu to protect him.
27 ARIZONA (thru HOU) - EDGE Jared Verse (Florida State)
The Cardinals need everything. Pick anyone. It’ll help.
28 BUFFALO - WR Troy Franklin (Oregon)
With the fire sale going on in Buffalo right now, it’s possible the team already believes they’ve missed their Super Bowl window. Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White were released, and both of last season’s starting wide receivers are gone. The restocking can begin here with a speedy Duck.
29 DETROIT - EDGE Chop Robinson (Penn State)
Aidan Hutchinson needs lots of help. They’re out of Okwaras and John Cominsky ain’t getting to the quarterback. Chop is a little smaller than ideal but he’s got great athleticism.
30 BALTIMORE - CB Nate Wiggins (Clemson)
The Ravens need to get younger at corner and quickly. Wiggins has outstanding instincts for the position, but his frame might not hold up.
31 SAN FRANCISCO - OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
Trent Willams says he wants to play for a few more years, but the Niners have an opportunity to train his replacement and acquire a top-tier backup.
32 KANSAS CITY - WR/KR Xavier Worthy (Texas)
With the legal troubles facing Rashee Rice - just about the only bright spot on the Chiefs wide receiving corps - Kansas City needs to grab one of this year’s elite WRs at #32. They might want to spend multiple picks on the position.
-
ROUND TWO
33 CAROLINA - WR Keon Coleman (Florida State)
34 NEW ENGLAND - WR Adonai Mitchell (Texas)
35 ARIZONA - LB Edgerrin Cooper (Texas A&M)
36 MIAMI (PROJ. TRADE W/WAS) - C Zach Frazier (West Virginia) +
37 LA CHARGERS - OT Jordan Morgan (Arizona)
38 TENNESSEE - CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama) +
39 CAROLINA (FROM NYG) - S Tyler Nubin (Minnesota)

2023 NFL MOCK DRAFT
Thursday, April 27
FIRST ROUND
1. Carolina (FROM CHI) - QB Bryce Young (Alabama)
The rumor is this is a done deal. Bryce Young satisfied any concerns about his lack of ideal size and solidified himself as the safest pick. He’s got a great head for the game, unreal anticipation and field awareness, and he appears to be exactly the sort of person you want representing your team.
2. Houston - DE/OLB Will Anderson (Alabama)
Will Houston pass on a quarterback to take one of the cleanest players in this draft? They just might…
3. Houston (PROJ. TRADE W/ARZ) - QB C.J. Stroud (Ohio State)
…until they trade up to take one! The Texans have loads of capital in this draft, and while they have plenty of holes to fill, they want to follow the Jets’ example of moving up to secure the players they want.
4. Indianapolis - QB Will Levis (Kentucky)
This becomes a no-brainer with both Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud off the board. Levis is the last of the quarterbacks who can step in the play as a rookie. Levis worked out of a pro-style offense at Kentucky, and he’s got all the unearned confidence he needs to convince coaches he’s capable of starting. He’ll flop.
5. Seattle (THRU DEN) - DT/DE Jalen Carter (Georgia) !
Seattle lucks into perhaps the most talented player coming out this year. Carter’s legal troubles so far don’t seem to be serious enough to bounce him out of the top 5 given his abilities on the field.
6. Detroit (THRU LAR) - CB Devon Witherspoon (Illinois)
Jared Goff’s job is safe for now. The Lions traded away Jeff Okudah for a 5th round pick and a pack of bubble gum. They brought in Cam Sutton to start on one side, but Witherspoon will be an instant starter across from him.
7. Las Vegas - DE Tyree Wilson (Texas Tech)
Teaming Wilson with Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones is almost unfair. Jones might have one year left with the team, so Wilson has greater future value than immediate value.
8. NY Jets (PROJ. TRADE W/ATL) - OT Paris Johnson, Jr. (Ohio State)
The Jets aren’t convinced that Mekhi Becton is their left tackle of the future. His conditioning just isn’t at a pro level. Atlanta needs to move down and collect more picks. The Jets (with the expected acquisition of Aaron Rodgers) are in win-now mode, so they’ll spend now and figure out how to pay for it later.
9. Chicago (THRU CAR) - RB Bijan Robinson (Texas)
The Bears let David Montgomery walk in free agency, but they find a huge upgrade in the draft. Sure, they still need big help along the offensive line, but Chicago figures the talent on Day 2 isn’t remarkably different than the top talent this year. A guy like Bijan is in a class of his own.
10. Philadelphia (THRU CLE) - CB Christian Gonzalez (Oregon)
You don’t often see a Super Bowl team drafting in the top-10, so this is a pure luxury pick. The Eagles feel Gonzalez just has too much upside to pass up here - even though CB isn’t an immediate need.
11. Tennessee - OT Broderick Jones (Georgia) The Titans stick with their plan to groom Malik Willis for two years before they decide what they’ve got, so they pass on this year’s QBs. Tennessee released LT Taylor Lewan and brought in Andre Dillard, a wasted first-round pick of Philly’s a few years ago. There are plenty of potentially-great tackles available this year, but they’re starting to come off the board quickly. The Titans considered trading up but didn’t have the ammo, so they stay put and are relieved to find Broderick Jones still hanging around.
12. Arizona (PROJ. TRADE W/HOU THRU CLE) - CB Joey Porter, Jr. (Penn State)
The Cardinals need help at corner pretty badly. They were hoping that either Witherspoon or Gonzalez would fall to them after trading down, but that didn’t work out. Joey Porter is the next best option.
13. Green Bay - OT/G Peter Skoronski (Northwestern)
If the Packers will have any chance of winning in 2023, they need to bolster the O-line in front of Jordan Love. Skoronski will be a welcome sight for Love as he embarks on his first starting campaign. He’s likely a guard this year - with the potential to kick out to tackle in the future.
14. Washington (PROJ. TRADE W/NE) - QB Anthony Richardson (Florida)
The Commanders get ahead of Atlanta to take the boom-or-bust QB prospect out of Florida. Richardson shouldn’t be allowed to play at all as a rookie (outside of a few Taysom Hill-esque gadget plays), but his future potential is too good to pass up here.
15. Atlanta (PROJ. TRADE W/NYJ VIA GB) - DE Lukas Van Ness (Iowa)
Atlanta needs defensive line help in the worst way, so they take a risk on the green Van Ness. He may need a few years to develop, but he’s got Trey Hendrickson potential. They pick up one of the Jets’ many, many 2nd rounders in the move down and well as 2024 compensation.
16. New England (PROJ. TRADE W/WAS) - WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Ohio State) +
The Pats have a terrible record of drafting wide receivers, but they try again. Smith-Njigba is likely only a slot receiver, but he could be an elite one.
17. Pittsburgh - OT Darnell Wright (Tennessee)
The Steelers need to focus on that woeful offensive line this year. Kenny Pickett never really had much of a chance as a rookie, but he still showed promise. Time to give him some blockers.
18. Detroit - TE Michael Mayer (Notre Dame)
The Lions are so close to being a great team; they’re likely eyeballing the 1-2 positions of greatest need to get them over the hump. Tight end is a glaring hole on their roster. Michael Mayer is the safest pick among this year’s TEs. Pro Bowl-level hands, strong blocking ability, not much YAC to his game, but he’ll move the chains as well as anybody. Day 1 starter and huge improvement.
19. Tampa Bay - G O’Cyrus Torrence (Florida)
The Bucs are in desperate need of offensive line help. Torrence is the best pure guard coming out this year, but this is still a bit high for him.
20. Seattle - QB Hendon Hooker (Tennessee)
Hooker has been getting a lot of looks from teams at the bottom of the first round. Seems like someone is bound to take a risk on him on the first day, maybe higher than people expect. The Seahawks love Geno Smith, but Hooker will be the starter 2 years from now. If Hooker hadn’t gotten injured, we’d be talking about him as a top-10 talent with his accuracy and decision-making.
Miami - FORFEITED
21. LA Chargers - WR Zay Flowers (Boston College)
The Chargers prepare for the eventual end of Keenan Allen’s stellar career by bringing in someone with some of Allen’s qualities. Zay Flowers can be brought along slowly as a rookie, but he’s a potential #1 target for Justin Herbert for years to come.
22. Baltimore - CB Deonte Banks (Maryland)
The Ravens keep Deonte Banks near home. They have an aging defensive backfield badly in need of quality youth. Banks showed amazing athleticism at the Combine.
23. Minnesota - DE Myles Murphy (Clemson)
The Vikings once boasted greatness along their defensive line, but that talent has waned in recent years. They’ll need to replenish, and it starts with Murphy.
24. Jacksonville - DT/DE Calijah Kancey (Pittsburgh)
The Jags have a habit of taking D-linemen in this round - not always with great luck. Kancey is a bit of a steal here, if not a huge immediate need for Jacksonville.
25. NY Giants - TE Dalton Kincaid (Utah)
The Giants somehow eked out a playoff appearance despite having the most woeful set of starting receivers in the league. They got by with a rookie at tight end last year, but they badly need to upgrade there.
26. Dallas - TE Darnell Washington (Georgia)
Once the Cowboys let Dalton Schultz walk in free agency, it opened up a huge hole at tight end. Darnell Washington is a combination of size and athleticism that doesn’t come along very often. Dallas fans should be doing backflips over this one.
27. Buffalo - DE/OLB Nolan Smith (Georgia) +
The undersized and oft-injured Nolan Smith falls down the board a bit farther than some draftniks thought, but the Bills take a chance on his freakish athleticism. He may need to convert to linebacker in this scheme, but he’s got time to develop.
28. Cincinnati - CB/S Brian Branch (Alabama)
The Bengals’ safety position got raided in free agency, so they bring in some fresh legs. Branch will be an all-purpose defensive back initially but his future is at free safety.
29. New Orleans (THRU SF, MIA, DEN) - DT Bryan Bresee (Clemson) +
The Saints might be the beneficiaries of a surprising fall here. Bresee is a run-stopping expert with a little pass-rushing ability to go along with it.
30. Philadelphia - DE Keion White (Georgia Tech)
The Eagles love their defensive line rotation, and they need bodies to keep those players fresh. Keion White has enjoyed a rapid rise up the draft boards, and the fact that he was one of the players invited to attend Day One of the draft speaks to how valued he is by GM’s.
31. Kansas City - OT Anton Harrison (Oklahoma)
Jawaan Taylor was brought in to play left tackle (after spending his entire pro career on the right side), so Harrison is headed to the other side of the line.
SECOND ROUND
32. Pittsburgh (FROM CHI) - CB Kelee Ringo (Georgia)
33. Arizona (PROJ. TRADE W/HOU) - WR Quentin Johnston (TCU)
34. Arizona - OLB Drew Sanders (Arkansas)

Players You Never Thought You’d Vote to the Pro Bowl: The Defense
Giants DT Dexter Lawrence
Leonard Williams is the interior defender getting all the attention with the Giants, but Dexter Lawrence has had a brilliant season - exceeding Williams’s play in many ways.
Broncos LB Alex Singleton
Eagles LB T.J. Edwards
The Broncos offense is so dreadful that nobody is noticing their defense, which has often been quite superb. Alex Singleton has put in an amazing 2022 in the middle of that D. What’s even more amazing: he’s doing it after losing his job in Philadelphia to... T.J. Edwards, who is also having a lights-out season without much praise outside of Philly.
Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed
Jets CB Sauce Gardner
Bucs CB Jamel Dean
Of course, Sauce Gardner came into the NFL Draft with a lot of hype, but until he faced NFL-caliber talent, hype was just that. He proved to be an elite corner from practically his first coverage assignment. Sneed and Dean came out of nowhere to post some of the best grades that Pro Football Focus could offer.
Commanders S Kamren Curl
Seahawks S Ryan Neal
Former 7th-round selection Kamren Curl wasn’t really supposed to see the field as a rookie, but he made Washington forget about their free agent acquisition of Landon Collins. He’s since developed into one of the best safeties in the NFC. Ryan Neal has mostly worked in the shadow of Seattle’s prized rookie corners, but with them he’s forming a new Legion of Boom that might surpass their Super Bowl-era defensive backs.

Players You Never Thought You’d Vote Into the Pro Bowl
Just the offense to start...
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa
Seahawks QB Geno Smith
Tua started the year as one of the most vulnerable starters in the NFL, but as I write this, he’s the highest rated QB at Pro Football Focus leading one of the most potent offenses in the league. And Geno Smith wasn’t even the favorite to start, but he’s now a strong candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.
Raiders RB Josh Jacobs
Texans RB Dameon Pierce
The Raiders added running backs through free agency this year, and pundits figured it was the end for Josh Jacobs. Now, Jacbos sits atop the PFF ratings. And Pierce was a longshot to start for the Texas after being the 7th running back selected in the draft.
Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown
This year’s best receivers are pretty much who we expected them to be. Amon-Ra, however, may be worthy of a spot in the Pro Bowl. After ending last year on a hot streak, he formed a bond with QB Jared Goff that led to a hot start in 2022, and now he’s become reliably great.
Browns TE David Njoku
When the Browns committed a significant amount of money to resigning Njoku, I thought he hadn’t deserved that sort of contract. But paradoxically, now that he’s made the money, he’s actually playing up to his draft position. Njoku has quietly become one of the best tight ends in the league.
Vikings OT Christian Darrisaw
Giants OT Andrew Thomas
Raiders OT Kolton Miller
Forget the big names you’ve come to know (and vote for) - this new crop of left tackles is legit. Darrisaw and Thomas are #1 and 2 on the PFF rankings. It’s been an amazing rise for Thomas, who spent his rookie year getting torched. He’s made incredible strides to become an elite tackle. Miller took a while to develop too, but he’s now one of the very best in the AFC.
Falcons G Chris Lindstrom
Dolphins G Robert Hunt
Bears G Teven Jenkins
All three of these guys had a hard time when they first got in the league, so it’s great to see them grading out incredibly high on PFF these days. The networks don’t spend much time taking up the o-line, so they’ve flown beneath the radar. Don’t lunge for names like Brandon Sherff or Quenton Nelson when casting your ballots; these guys have outperformed them.
Browns C Ethan Pocic
Lions C Frank Ragnow
The Browns have an elite interior o-line - both guards and their center deserve to be in the Pro Bowl (despite their record). And Frank Ragnow has slowly climbed the ranks of the NFL’s centers to become one of the very best.

2022 NFL MOCK DRAFT
Updated April 28, 2022
ROUND 1
1. Jacksonville – DE Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan)
Less than 24 hours before the Jaguars are on the clock, we still don’t know who the first pick will be. This is exactly how the NFL drew it up. Build the drama as much as possible. I believe, however, that the Jaguars tipped their hand when they franchise-tagged then re-signed OT Cam Robinson. Why would they pay such a significant salary if they already knew they’d be taking a left tackle with the #1 pick? Plus, they like the future prospects of Walker Little at LT. I believe they’ve settled on Hutchinson, the safest pick in this draft.
2. Detroit – DE Travon Walker (Georgia)
Detroit might go with one of the offensive tackles and keep last year’s pick, Penei Sewell, at right tackle, where he excelled; they’d then move on from Taylor Decker after this season. But that’s a lot to spend on the same position. More likely, they’d take a replacement for the now-jettisoned Trey Flowers. Walker was used in a rotation at Georgia, so he’s only scratched the surface of what he can do in a meatier role.
3. NY Giants (PROJ. TRADE W/HOU) – OT Evan Neal (Alabama)
The Giants waited too long for DeVonta Smith last year, and the Eagles traded in front of them to nab him. They’re not making that same mistake this year. They go up and grab the tackle they want (giving up their 1st and 2nd round picks plus a swap of 4th rounders to move up 2 spots). Neal is a freakish athlete for his body type, and he figures to become a day-one starter. If he gets his hands on you, you’re done. However, he’s about to meet pass-rushers capable of eluding his grasp. If Daniel Jones can’t do it behind Neal, he can’t do it.
4. NY Jets – DE/OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon)
Thibodeaux has to answer a few questions about his dedication to the game, so don’t be too surprised if he falls in this draft. But the on-field performance is enough to convince the Jets to take a chance on him. They need a lot of help getting to the quarterback.
5. Houston (PROJ. TRADE W/NYG) – OT/G Ikem Ekwonu (NC State)
The Texans need just about everything, so they trade down and are still able to snag a potentially great complement to Laremy Tunsil. Ickey can play guard or right tackle initially; he’s got positional flexibility.
6. New Orleans (PROJ. TRADE W/CAR) – OT Charles Cross (Mississippi State)
The Saints acquired one of the Eagles’ first-round picks this year specifically for this move up the board. They watch 2 of the 3 top-tier left tackle prospects peel off the board, and they package their two #1’s to go up and get the last one. The Saints have always put a high priority on their offensive line. The Panthers trade out of #6 because the QBs this year just aren’t worth it; plus, Carolina is desperate for more picks – they only had one pick on the first two days of this year’s draft before now (the Panthers give up their #1 this year and a 3rd rounder in 2023 to make this happen).
7. NY Giants (THRU CHI) – CB Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner (Cincinnati)
The Giants consider one of the pass rushers here, but in the end, they prepare for the departure of James Bradbury and select one of the most feared defensive backs in the collegiate ranks.
8. Atlanta – DE/OLB Jermaine Johnson (Florida State)
The Falcons are deficient in many ways, so they can go just about anywhere with this pick. They see the edge rushers flying off the board and lunge for Jermaine Johnson. He got out of the rotation at Georgia just in time to highlight his talents at Florida State, a wise move for him but a missed opportunity to win the National Championship as part of one of the greatest college defenses in recent memory.
9. Seattle (THRU DEN) – DT Jordan Davis (Georgia)
The Seahawks will either roll with Drew Lock for a year or acquire Baker Mayfield from Cleveland, but I don’t think they’ll reach for one of this year’s remaining shaky quarterback prospects at #9. Jordan Davis might not have the conditioning to be a three-down tackle, but he’ll be a game-changer in a rotation. Keep him rested and he’ll pay dividends.
10. NY Jets (THRU SEA) – CB Derek Stingley, Jr. (LSU) +
The Jets have a little talent at corner but not enough to pass up a prospect like Derek Stingley, Jr. They talk themselves out of what they saw on tape the last two years and focus on what he produced as a freshman.
11. Washington – S Kyle Hamilton (Notre Dame)
The Commanders… I’ll get used to it eventually… have invested heavily in their defensive front seven, but it’s that backfield that cost them dearly in 2021. Kyle Hamilton can help immediately upgrade this bunch.
12. Minnesota – DE George Karlaftis (Purdue)
The Vikings might be short on edge rushers very soon. Danielle Hunter might not be around much longer, and there isn’t much depth behind him. Karlaftis has a motor that won’t quit. He may never develop into a star, but he’s got plenty of 10+ sack season in him.
13. Houston (THRU CLE) – WR Garrett Wilson (Ohio State)
Houston starts the run on wide receivers a bit later than everyone thought. Wilson can line up on the other side of Brandin Cooks and give young Davis Mills another desperately needed target.
14. Baltimore – CB Trent McDuffie (Washington)
The Ravens had a hell of a time keeping corners on the field last year. And to make matters worse, they lost a few in free agency this year. McDuffie is just a hair below this year’s top prospects at the position, so while this might seem like a reach, the Ravens are perfectly comfortable getting their man here.
15. Philadelphia (THRU MIA) – WR Chris Olave (Ohio State)
This pick will elicit a few gasps, but it really shouldn’t. Olave is perhaps the best route-runner in the draft, and he’s been productive as hell. He should be a great fit in the NFL. The Eagles are a team on the rise, and with multiple high picks over the next two years, this could be an important turning point. Philly just can’t stop drafting receivers. They’ll need a complement to DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins. All signs point to Jalen Reagor being a bust.
16. Carolina (PROJ. TRADE W/ NO FROM PHI VIA IND) – QB Malik Willis (Liberty)
The Panthers trade down and still get the only quarterback available this year who might develop into a reliable starter. Willis has the arm talent and scrambling ability to make it in the NFL, but he badly needs a year or two holding a clipboard and learning the position at this level. Sam Bradford remains the starter for now.
17. LA Chargers – DT Devonte Wyatt (Georgia)
Early in 2021, the Chargers couldn’t stop the run at all. It was pitiful. They’ve had their eye on this year’s crop of defensive tackles ever since. Wyatt showed at the Combine that he might be the most promising Bulldog coming out this year, which is high praise.
18. Philadelphia (FROM NO) – LB Devin Lloyd (Utah)
The Philly defensive front seven needs a bit of youth. Lloyd could easily surpass what Alex Singleton did last year and become a leader on this squad.
19. Carolina (PROJ. TRADE W/NO FROM PHI) – OT Trevor Penning (Northern Iowa)
The Panthers offensive line was atrocious last year; only right tackle Taylor Moton didn’t embarrass himself. Trevor Penning is just plain mean. He’ll bring a new attitude to this squad, something they badly need.
20. Pittsburgh - QB Desmond Ridder (Cincinnati)
The Steelers used to have a tradition of drafting a quarterback every 2-3 years, playing the numbers game. Eventually, they’ll find Big Ben’s heir apparent. That never happened. Mitch Trubisky may turn out to be a great reclamation project, but Pittsburgh can’t risk it. They bypass Kenny Pickett and take the better leader, Desmond Ridder.
21. Detroit (PROJ. TRADE W/ NE) - QB Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh)
New England trades out of this pick with Detroit; they give up picks #32 and 66 to move up.
The Lions can’t be content with Jared Goff - they just can’t. Pickett may not have a future as a top-tier starter, but the Lions see Ridder come off the board and can’t wait any longer. Pickett will improve the quarterback room as a backup initially then potentially replace Goff after 2022.
22. Green Bay (THRU LV) - WR Drake London (USC) +
The Raiders’ move to Las Vegas has them in a gamblin’ mood. They trade this and other picks to Green Bay for WR Davonte Adams. With this selection, the Packers try to replace Adams (good luck with that!).
Drake London is a red-zone target first and foremost. If they use him right, he could be a double-digit touchdown receiver in his rookie year.
23. Arizona - G/C Tyler Linderbaum (Iowa)
Here’s a hot take: Kyler Murray is not happy. Protect him. Linderbaum might be small for the average NFL interior lineman, but he’s strong as hell and well-coached. He could be the next Jason Kelce.
24. Dallas – WR Jameson Williams (Alabama) +
The Cowboys let quite a few members of their receivers room walk in free agency, and when they see Jameson Williams fall to 24, they drop their plans to beef up the offensive line and grab perhaps the receiver with the highest upside in this year’s draft. He’s still rehabbing an ACL tear, but he should be ready to compete before the playoffs.
25. Buffalo - LB Nakobe Dean (Georgia)
The Bills are so close to being a Super Bowl-caliber squad. Getting a leader like Nakobe Dean would be a tremendous boost. Like Derrick Brooks before him, Dean slipped because of size concerns, but I believe he could end up in Canton one day.
26. Tennessee - DE David Ojabo (Michigan) +
Ojabo’s value dropped a bit when he got hurt during the pre-draft process, but he’s definitely got some raw talent. The Titans could use someone to rotate with Harold Landry and Bud Dupree and eventually replace one of them. Ojabo can be brought along slowly.
27. Tampa Bay – G Kenyon Green (Texas A&M)
The Bucs lost a few key pieces along their offensive line this off-season. Time to rebuild. Green didn’t have a great Combine, but what he put on tape during his collegiate career is more important. And he proved to be perhaps the best interior lineman in the country.
28. Green Bay - WR Treylon Burks (Arkansas)
What Aaron Rodgers wants, Aaron Rodgers now gets. And he wants receivers. So get him a 2nd one in the first round, why not? Green Bay overturns their long-standing tradition of ignoring offensive playmakers in the first round in a big way. Burks hurt himself a bit during the post-season process, but his game-day performances are undeniable, and he offers a Deebo-like versatility that any clever offensive coordinator would covet.
29. Kansas City (FROM MIA THRU SF) – CB Andrew Booth, Jr. (Clemson)
The Chiefs have gotten by with very little at linebacker and cornerback in recent years. And it has cost them. They need to start investing there, and it begins with Andrew Booth. He’s clay in need of molding, but he’s got all the tools to eventually become a top-tier corner with the right investment.
30. Kansas City - WR Christian Watson (North Dakota State)
The Chiefs will need some speed to make up for the loss of Tyreek. Watson might be a bit of a risky pick here, but there’s no denying the speed and savvy Watson’s displayed.
31. Cincinnati - LB Quay Walker (Georgia)
One more Bulldog, why not? The Bengals committed to solving their offensive line troubles through free agency, and they seem to have done a good job of it. So they turn to their defense instead. The Bengals don’t have greatness at linebacker, so they’ll take a swing at Walker to challenge Germaine Pratt for minutes.
32. New England (PROJ. TRADE W/ DET THRU LAR) - C/G Zion Johnson (Boston College)
The Patriots lost quite a few pieces along their offensive line this off-season, especially inside. Zion Johnson has impressed a lot of GM’s recently, and he’ll make life a little easier for the immobile Mac Jones.
