I can no longer read the word “chaos” without getting flashbacks to this one writing assignment I got in middle school and cringing myself into a catatonic state.

We had to write a news article. We were given a bunch of facts to work from. They were about school and school things because we were at school and all kids do is go to school.

We had just learned about alliteration. I learned that I liked alliteration. It was fun, funky, and fancy as far as my foolish child brain was concerned.

News articles need punchy headlines. Wow, alliteration would be perfect for this!

My article was about kids and the mayhem they cause. Or chaos they caused. Alliteration works best when all the starting letter were the same. And “cids” didn’t make any sense.

So.

Kids Kause Khaos.

I was too young to know about a certain dark corner of history.

But I had to make it a smidgen worse. Didn’t I?

Changed the layout. Make those Ks really pop. So everyone know I can be clever with my alliteration. Used word art and everything. The full header was:

When I first heard of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure it was in the midst of Jojo Siwa’s controversy a few years back

So I kinda assumed it was her show.

Which only made any information I heard about either of them all the more confusing

My grandparent’s house is a treasure trove of oddities. It is to be expected as it is where two seventy-year-olds have stored all of their shiny things(Tm) over decades of “that’ll come in handy one day”.

My favourite thing to do is peer through one of their more cluttered shelving units kept in their spare bedroom. They barely touch it but I seem to find new things every time I look.

From the 3D jigsaw puzzle of a carousel to the book “Do Ants Have Arseholes”. I’ll never guess what I’ll see next.

Why is sleep most comfortable when you need to get up?

It’s embrace is so much warmer. The dreams that dance in the corners of you mind so much sweeter. It holds a sly reassurance that tells you you don’t need to get up and keeps you eyelids heavy. Happily drags that hour nap into a guilt laced eight hour slumber.
