Under Ever After | S: Prologue; E: Wake Up, pt 2
“Where is Frisk?” Toriel said to the group. She was getting worried. “don’t worry, tori, she’ll be fine,” Sans replied, “how about we check the surface for a bit, if it’s okay?” “OK, Sans, if you say it’ll calm me, I’ll go.” “Sorry I’m late!” the group heard from the door behind them.
A hunched yellow monster ran towards them.
“Alphys!” Undyne shouted, “Where were you all this time?!” “Sorry, Undyne, I was getting my things!” Alphys replied.
“Let’s see if I have everything…”
Batteries…
Papers…
Vials…
Metal parts…
And a diary…
“OK, that’s everything! What did I miss?” Papyrus then piped, “FRISK WENT UNCONSCIOUS, THEN WHEN SHE HEARD ASGORE AND HIS CLONE, SHE JUST LEFT. WEIRD.” “Yeah, we were gonna check out the surface, wanna come, Alphys?” Undyne asked. “Yeah, OK, I’ll go.”
Six walked away.
Two entered.
Two walked away.
Seven entered.
Five walked away.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Asgore broke the silence of the group. “WOAH!” the tall skeleton exclaimed in amazement, “SANS, WHAT THAT SHINY THING IN THE SKY?!” “we call that the sun, papy,” Sans replied. “I’M FINALLY MEETING THE SUN?! THIS IS THE BEST DAY, EVER!”
Then they heard footsteps from behind them.
Two figures stood there.
Frisk and Asriel.
“Asriel?!” The Dreemurrs exclaimed. “Mom? Dad? Will you forgive me?” The Dreemurrs hugged their child for what seemed hours in their mind. The last they saw of him was him turning to dust with his sibling in Asgore’s flower bed more than twenty years ago. Their child, alive, was a miracle from God. “good job, kiddo, how’d you do it?” “Well, if you won’t be mad, I’ll tell you.” Frisk replied. “don’t sweat, kiddo. now how’d you do it?” Sans said. Frisk pulled out her soul, or the half of it she kept. “oh. kiddo, that’s,” Sans replied, holding back his shock, “that’s pretty neat. if you don’t mind me, for a sec…”
Sans walked over to the Dreemurrs.
They were all crying tears of joy.
“DON’T WORRY, HUMAN,” Papyrus stated to Frisk, putting his gloved hands on her shoulders, “ SANS IS KINDA WEIRD. HOW EXACTLY DID YOU DO THAT?”
“hey, kiddo. the name’s sans. sans the skeleton. if you don’t mind, can i see your ‘soul’ for a second?”
Asriel look at his parents.
They were confused.
Frisk and Papyrus walked over.
Asriel then took out his half of Frisk’s soul.
His parents were dumbfounded.
“frisk, what did you do?” Sans asked ominously. It was as if the entire world went black, and all the light left pointed to Sans. “I did what I thought was best,” She replied. “frisk, the side effects of a split soul contain…” “Sans! Calm down!” Alphys exclaimed, “She did what she wanted with her soul, so leave her alone!” “Alphys…” Undyne said, “Alphys, guys, look!” She pointed to the exit.
Five figures.
Five humans.
“It’s the humans!” Toriel exclaimed, “They’re alive!” “Yes, but only five of them,” Asgore stated.
Bravery.
Justice.
Kindness.
Patience.
Integrity.
No Perseverance.
“But…” Undyne stated nervously, “but they’re dead!” YES, BUT MAYBE THE HUMAN DID SOMETHING ABOUT THEM, TOO!” Papyrus exclaimed. Asriel replied, “I don’t remember Frisk saving them, too. Frisk?”
“I didn’t do anything,” she then answered.
“Is anyone there?” one of the humans said. She had a gun holster and a prosthetic right leg. Justice.
Toriel finally piped, “It’s okay, children, don’t be afraid. We won’t hurt you. I am Toriel, used-to-be caretaker of the ruins. Don’t you remember me?” “We’re sorry, but, I don’t think we remember anything.” another human replied. This one had pale skin and brown hair. She was Integrity. “Oh, and my name is Joyce Smith. That was Justice May. The short, dark-skinned one is David Wheeler,” Bravery, “The Ginger is James McMann,” Patience, “and that last one is…”
“Susan Percy Caspino, nice to meet you all!” the tan, dark-haired one intervened politely with a kind courtesy. Kindness.
The group then introduced themselves, then Asriel asked, “I don’t mean to be rude, but, what”s the last thing you remember?”
Susan replied, “Well, falling down mount Ebott.” “Yeah, the fall,” David added. “Climbing a mountain for me,” Joyce said. “That fall probably was the last I remember.” Justice replied “Climbing the mountain,” James stated, “Well…”
“Not if you count that man…”
“man? what kind of man?” Sans asked questionably. “Well, I don’t even remember him. I just know he existed. And I also remember him with another kid.” that kid was perseverance, Sans thought, but that man? “hey, kiddo, from your memory, what did this man look like?”
“Well… he had black clothes, the color red here and there, but mostly black. Oh, and he had a pale coloured head and light hair, if he has hair, that is.”
could it be him?
“Well, no need to get bogged down!” Asgore stated, “Let’s head down this mountain and meet and greet the humans!”
So they did.
Leaving two figures to fade away on the top of Mount Ebott.

Under Ever After | S: Prologue; E: Wake Up, pt 1
Headache. Constant ringing. Wavy vision. And a voice…
“Wake up, my child, wake up!”
More voices…
“cmon, kiddo, open those eyes of yours.”
Again…
“HEY PUNK, GOD DAMN IT, WAKE UP!!!!!!”
That woke her up.
It hurt her joints to sit up, but she did. She remembered what happened. All her friends were around her. Sans was almost on her, Undyne had a disturbing grin, and Papyrus was, crying…? Almost? “Guys, calm down, I’m fine,” Frisk replied to this awkward gathering. “well, kiddo,” she heard Sans say, “at least you aren’t ‘brain-dead’ about the situation! Ayyy!” “SANS, OH MY GOD!” Papyrus exclaimed in anger, “YOU HAD TO RUIN THIS MOMENT!” Undyne then piped, “Don’t worry, ya punk, she’s fine!” “Thank goodness, my child, is that really true?” The bright voice stuck. “Yes, human, are you truly okay?” The deep voice stuck. “HUMAN, ARE YOU FINE?” Frisk didn’t hear him. She was sucked into a dream. No, a memory.
And a hope.
“It’s best you just forget about me.” The small, goat-headed child said to Frisk. “Asriel, why? Why do you want to be forgotten?” “It would hurt you,” Asriel said. “It would hurt everyone. Please. Forget about me.”
She walk towards him.
She lifted her arms.
She hugged him.
“Asriel,” the human said, “I would never forget you. And I’m sure ‘Chara’ hasn’t forgotten, either. Cheer up, Azzy…”
Azzy… Azzy…
The word echoed in Frisk head. She didn’t forget. “My child?” Toriel said. “I have to go.” Frisk picked herself up and walked from her friends. She traversed the underground, in search of where Asriel would go.
“…flowers…”
The word appeared in her head. She knew where he was. Frisk ran as fast as she could to the flowers.
The entrance to the underground.
As she came up to the small hill, she saw a wisp of white fur. Getting closer, a green shirt appeared, followed by pants and a tiny tufted tail. The monster turned around.
“Chara?”
“No, Asriel, it’s me, Frisk.” He looked sad. “I don’t get it.” Asriel stated. “I did my part. I destroyed the barrier. I made everyone happy. So why am I not?” “I know how you can be happy,” Frisk replied" “Frisk, what are you…”
Crrr-ack!
Frisk split her soul.
“Frisk!” Asriel shouted, “What are you doing?!” “I’m making you happy. I’m making me happy. I’m making everyone happy. I’m making Chara happy.”
She ran to Asriel.
She hugged him.
She forced half of her soul into him.
And Asriel was truly alive again.
