I sat and watched in curious horror at the feast unfolding before me. Unlike home, here they drank ale with abandon, dance and sang like tonight might be their very last. In my home village parties were always a dull attendance, more interested in timely attendance and the best manners. Manners were not invited to this party tonight and my jaw fell agape when a partially dressed orc woman began dancing and singing on the long table in the very center. I couldn't help but sneak a glance to my left where the stiff Virfel was sputtering wine like a baby and, against my better judgement, laughter started deep in my core and erupted to join the loud chorus of whatever they sang. I had never seen him lose his composure in public once and the deathly glare he sent my way told me I would pay for my participation. A smug smile found its way on my face and I sunk into the wooden chair, content with my position as observer for now.
