originally,   jasper   was   an   employee   at   the   uncanny   valley   pawn   shop   located   in   deadwood,   south   dakota.   he   worked   there   until   the   building   was   destroyed   in   a   fire   that   was   set   in   hopes   of   quelling   the   evil   that   resonated   from   the   shop.   after   the   shop's   destruction,   jasper   was   offered   a   position   at   another   establishment   owned   by   finn   and   his   husband,   drew   —   said   establishment   was   quaint   little   inn   known   as   the   sunset   valley   inn.   jasper   is   now   the   manager   and   occasional   maintenance   person   for   the   inn.   occasionally,   strange   things   also   happen   at   this   new   establishment,   and   jasper   is   beginning   to   thing   deadwood   is   cursed.

ezra   never   knew   his   father,   and   his   mother   worked   most   of   the   time in   order   to   keep   food   on   the   table   for   him   and   his   younger   sister,   mishka.   as   a   result,   he   and   his   sister   grew   up   only   relying   on   one   another.

he   learned   how   to   pick   pockets   when   he   was   very   young,   and   eventually he   began   a   fence   for   less   than   legal   activities   to   make   some   extra   coin.

he   initially   left   mishka   behind   to   stay   with   her   mother,   but   she   tracked   him   down   on   her   own   and   refused   to   leave,   so   now   she’s   a permanent   crew   member   on   his   ship.
